Have you ever had a creepy, weird, or downright unexplainable sighting while in the woods? Tis the season for spooky and innawoods stories
>>
This has nothing to do with weapons. There are no gnomes, bigfoot, wendigos, skinwalkers, or UFOs. It's all a myth perpetuated by grifters who profit off of gullible idiots who buy freeze dried rice or shotgun shells that can't even hurt us. Just take your meds and stop posting this trash.

>weapons
you forgot military technology fucko.
glowniggers def have disk type vehicles

>out inna field
>see across the horizon a strange orange orb, what appeared to be resting on the apex of a large industrial building
weird. I dont remember there being a lamp there.
>It Immediately begins glowing more intensely
>it disappears
what the fuck
>suddenly it reappears, hundreds of feet higher in altitude.
>disappears again
>another re appearance, hundreds more feet up in vertical altitude
>does this shimmer trick two more times.

no idea what that was, but it was fast, and it went way beyond anything drones can do. and this was back in like, 2014

>one time creeping through the woods with friend
>up on mountianside, pretty darn steep. lots of fallen crap and twigs in the way, fighting through undergrowth foliage
>look up for a split second and see something big shift out of view
wtf?
>figured it mustve been a deer and we spooked it
>kinda weird, couldnt find any tracks, didnt hear it galloping away, again pretty steep cliff, figured you should atleast hear SOMETHING if it was a deer.

dunno what it was. pretty weird, kinda creepy. maybe it was just a stealthy deer but, yea. will never know
>>

Here's a list of shit I've run into living in northern wisconsin and connecticut
>colonial era rock walls scattered across the woods
>old house foundations with nothing left
>abandoned lumber camps
>old fire watch tower covered in satanic graffiti
>deer head nailed to a tree
>homeless encampments at night, sometimes with homeless people watching me from inside stick lean-tos and tents
>beware of bears sign that had been shredded by some big ass claws
>someone faintly calling my (somewhat rare) name a few times, freaked the fuck out of me
>someone whistling distantly on the wind
>violently shaking bushes and trees despite dead wind
Most of it was just creepy but harmless, although the name calling made me double time back to the trailhead. The shaking bushes and trees was one of the few times I felt like I wasn't wanted somewhere, so I noped the fuck out as quick as possible.
>>
>>64378787
>eyed by the homeless at night
creepy.

>clawed bear sign
fucking creepy.

>whistles on the wind
a guy at work is deathly afraid of this. something about not whistling back or the skinwalkers follow you home.

super spooky anon.

reminds me of a story.
>investigating haunted valley
>10 hours into the hike, many miles in at the base of large mountain where avalanches devastate the area
>take a break at the base of large stone
>suddenly, a blood curdling scream cuts the air. it sounded far as fuck away.
>suddenly, from the opposite side of the hollow/valley another BLOOD CURLDING scream of death echoes back, from the opposite direction, like 150 yards away
>all three dudes just sitting there frozen going WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT

never found anything in the woods. never saw anyone else. didnt find a thing out of place. think about it often because of its outright bizarre nature. sounded like someone was literally, right fucking there being flayed or mauled by animals.
>>
>>64378848
>eyed by the homeless at night
>creepy
It was
>looking into a little teepee kind of structure made of sticks
>seeing a bike wrapped with a plastic bag
>wtf is that in there
>start walking up to get a closer look
>homeless guy I couldn't see inside was like uhh good evening
>just said it back and kept going, was too stunned to do anything else and the creeps set in later.
>bear sign
It didn't creep me out until afterwards. It was one of those thin metal ones that they nail to the sides of trees, but it looked like something raked it with its claws and shredded the sign into little shards still held on by the nails.
>sounded like someone was literally, right fucking there being flayed or mauled by animals
Maybe a mountain lion scream from close up? I've never heard one personally, but I've heard their screams described like someone getting axe murdered

One creepy, and one weird:

Creepy:
>me and the bois hiking through a national forest in LA (lower alabama)
>no designated camp sites, if you find a spot to pitch a tent, you can camp there
>we set up camp in a pine grove, really spread out area with loblolly and grass
>just before dark, campfire is going
>old haggard dude in hunting camo walks up just on the edge of firelight
>tells us "you boys should know there's weird shit in these woods. i've been watching from over yonder and yall never knew i was there. yall be safe."
>turns around and walks off into the dark, no flashlight, no nothing, just walks away into the pitch black
>3 of us sleep with guns under our pillows that night

Weird:
>hog hunting around midnight in GA private property on a 1100 acre parcel
>set up with NVG's just uphill from a creek along a wooded trail the hogs have been destroying
>leaves start rustling, twig breaks, branches snap
>somethingsapproaching.mp4
>gets louder and louder
>couple small saplings move, see them sway and the leaves jitter
>wtftisthis.jpg
>sound and movement is literally right in front of us like maybe 20 feet away but we don't see any movement
>sound dies down, and trails off through the woods
>never spot a single animal or person
>creeped the fuck out for the rest of the night
Looking back on it, I think the most likely explanation is that it was something like an armadillo or two making asstons of noise in the dry leaves, but still doesn't much explain how small saplings were shaking like they were being pushed against. No real explanation to this day.
>>
>>64379582
hahaha this stoory made me laugh. made me think of my hunting story

>Southern TX
>Hoggin'
>pigs dont do shit in the day. we know their spot, so were gonna camp it all night long.
>sittin in the woods for hours and hours in our nest, 9pm slowly turns to 3 am
>buddy gets impatient
FUCK IT. BED TIME
>k
>we both stand up and start moving away to pack up our gear in the trees n such
>the second we stand up and walk away something big slithered down the hill we were just sitting at the bottom of. its coming up from behind
WTF WTF WTF
>all i can think about is a big cat or some shit was waiting to get us
>flooding the forest with our lights, ar10/12ga ready
>bishes start really rustlin and parting
>hes coming out.
>it bursts out of the undergrowth, just a stripey little armadillo
>genuine wtf
>he scampers and skitters off into the darkness

never encountered an armadillo before that. they are surprisingly noisy when they are bulldozing the leaf litter and scampering around.

part 1/2, ill type the second half to this one later
>>
>>64378878
"ive been watching you all night and you didnt know i was here. bye now"

now, that shit is fuckin weird. I would be legit creeped out. reminds me of the time
>walking late at night, under a creepy ass bridge
>in the darkness, can make out a black form, laying on the ground
>get kinda close, realize its a person laying down sleeping in the dust
>or a corpse
>yeet the fuck outta there.
he looked like a fallout ghoul, takin a nap

>>64378878
>mtn lions
maaaaybe? Ive heard em before but it wasnt like I remember hearing from one of them. Im pretty darn sure I heard a word or two. the weird part again is like, it was across the valley, then within seconds either it, or another one was JUST on the opposite side, fuckin close.

also this was broad daylight so Id be surprised if it was kitties

Our Brigade Officer appeared from behind a tree like this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcXQzQbPZvk
watched our training, gave a few comments, and disappeared the same way. There was no vehicle or anything that dropped him off/picked him up.
I've also seen houses in the woods, upon closer inspection they disappear. At night when you are extremely sleep deprived you start seeing lots of things. It's difficult to determine what's real, you don't want to accidentally set off the alarm for nothing but you also don't want to let the enemy pass unhindered.

either way

>theyre nice for a bit until they get creeped out and obvs leave.
>hobo pulls one friend aside
>thanks for spending the evening with me, its been really nice. You boys changed my mind - I was gonna go skin a guy, murder him, then light him on fire, but im not gonna do that now.
>produces a handlebar from his jacket
>here take this
he winks and says its not vodka

friend says he handed him a handlebar of gasoline

It was a naked spirit. They look like glowing orbs. Most of them are outside the visible spectra. The more evil they are, the more redshifted they are. You should avoid orbs that are red or in the infrared or even longer wavelengths.

Once I saw a green dot flashing on and off. What was strange was the way it just stopped on a dime. It moved again and then stopped suddenly stayed for a while blinking and then moved out of sight. I couldn't hear any sound from it. My only thought was it could be a drone or mayne a laser

Wasn't in the woods though, just outside my house
>>
>>64378602
The only inexplicable thing that has ever happened to me innawoods was getting lost in a familiar area. That was fucking weird. I spent an hour walking in circles until something clicked and I suddenly knew the way, which was the same as always.
The rest of the creepy shit was very much explainable.
1) Dude just fucking showed up out of nowhere not ten feet away from me. In perfect silence. I almost crapped my pants at the display of what Stealth 100 looks like.
2) Got shot at by a drunk hunter who thought I was a bird. I managed to drop to the ground before he fired like 5 more rounds.
3) Wolf noises in a supposedly wolf-free area.
4) Wild pigs, with mama boar sizing me up. 0/10, not an experience you want in your life.

Deer can be slient as fuck, I've been suprised by them before, the only noise they make is in getting up and starting to run away, after that they are silent.
Or it went to ground nearby and hid.
>>

even so, creepy.
another funny story from tx

>go back to bar
>tell bartender about the scary armadillo
WELL DIDJA SHOOTIT?!
>lmao omg no poor critter thered be nothing left
>ask the lady if shes ever seen weird shit in the woods
>said one night, her, brother, and dad all sittin in their blinds
>hear this blood curdling noise that slowly moved its way through the darkness. nobody could actually see it, but it got close to all 3 and vanished
>says it wasnt till many years later that she heard the noise somewhere else, its a panther
>make the connection that jet black cats can easily come over from florida

Europe doesn't have this cryptid wankfest, unless we killed them all millennia ago then I call bullshit.
Though as I type this I remember the numerous 'I was told this place was haunted and I said bullshit and then I ended up sleeping in the car' stories I've heard.
>>
>>64381394
Ah. You live in an area with a high concentration of large cats.
Well to be honest, it would be a lot more scary than any old ghost story, hiking or camping around there.
Most of they time they wont get near ya, but sometimes tbey get reeeal hungry or you get close to their cubs.

That shit's actually bretty comfy; it's a flight suit, and I think you're supposed to wear a bunch of shit under it. Here's me in the summer a couple years ago.
>other spooky things
Yeah, I got shitfaced and saw the Deer Woman a few hours after taking this photo >>64348516. That was about 40 miles away from the hoat head though.
A few years before, in the Deer Woman woods, I found a camp way out in the middle of the woods, off of a deer trail off of a side trail off of a logging road. It was really elaborate, with a trench system with tarps over the top of it. Went back a year later and stuff had been added to it.
That whole logging road leading up to the Deer Woman woods got sealed off a few years ago. Someone dug these really deep trenches across the road and put berms across it so it's a real pain to get in there. There's also creeks cutting across it and trees growing right in the middle of the road.

Not creepy, weird, or unexplainable, just kinda unusual:
A hundred years ago there used to be this mill town in the middle of nowhere in southwest Washington called Walville that had a bunch of Japanese workers there. Went out there looking for abandoned buildings or foundations, but the only thing left of the town is the Japanese cemetery. Left a rock on the cemetery sign cause I'm Jewish. Saw a video a few months later and a couple of other people left rocks there too. Mine is the big dark one on the left in the photo on the Wikipedia article.

>about 3 hours into the hike, guy in back keeps saying hes seeing lights in the woods
>nobody can see anything

Do you happen to live in Kansas or Missouri? I saw the exact same thing in the sky over Fort Riley at around 2 in the morning once. It did these crazy zigzag moves, stopped out of nowhere, then did it again before dipping below the treeline. I'd believe it was a laser pointer if there was something for the laser to reflect off of, but it was a clear night with no clouds or fog.

One time, innawoods, I was hiking alone, and then, I saw it! It looked like a man, but had long hair, wide hips and walked funny. Furthermore, there were, stuff, growing on its chest, two stuff. It was, macabre, a parody of the, human form. It saw me, I was hiding, in the bushes. I then heard its voice, much more shrill and high pitched, than a man's. What did, I see, /k/?

>>
>>64378602
Nope. I live in Norway, the country of trolls, nøkken, draugen and an endless amount of other mythological figures, most accurately depicted by Kittelsen, but no. I've probably hiked about 2000 times in my life, and camped overnight maybe a hundred times, and I've never encountered anything. The wilderness is just comfy and soothing, and the worst you'll encounter is a wild animal that'll be more spooked by you than you'll be spooked by it.
