I don't often see threads here about purpose built impact weapons that aren't edged
Here in Texas we can legally carry brass knuckles, expandable batons and sap gloves, as well as most all types of knives
I have guns and otf knives too, but point is that's not your only option here
What do anons think about sap gloves, brass knuckles, blackjacks and batons
I personally think they are all based and slept on for self defense

Impact weapons, while effective when used correctly, can definitely be argued to be overkill even when used defensively. It's part of the reason why most LEOs (at least from what I've seen) don't bother to carry batons anymore.

Yeah. Part of the reason you see so much more nuisance crime these days (loitering, reckless driving, homeless people being disgusting in public, etc.) is that police can’t just beat the shit out of lowlifes anymore due to cell phones and bodycams. The brain of some 75 IQ urbanoid remembers the crack of his skull after a baton strike far more than his suspended sentence. Incarceration as a deterrence doesn’t work on people with low time preference, you need immediate physical violence to correct their behavior

Not only justified, but entirely necessary.
Low-IQs (blacks, brownoids, white trash) lack of have severely diminished critical thinking and reasoning skills, they only understand basic concepts like violence.
It's why you see so many nogs behaving like absolute animals on body and dash cams now days, they know police won't hurt them like they used to.
It's not just a cultural issue or attitude problem, it's the fact that they know they will not be beaten or killed for their behavior.
No violence = no compliance for them, therefore it is absolutely necessary to use violence, often times even extreme or lethal, when dealing with them.

Bought a plastic tonfa + big plastic stick months ago. Nice way to bust someone/something without killing. With 2 tonfas and a martial arts background, you can make real damage.

>>64379154
Interesting approach. But the inner cane acts like a "hardned whip", may hit you back depending on the situation. Maybe a full solid metal cane could be more safe for the user (specially the old ones).

Brass knuckles are based, but a lot more dangerous than people think due to their use in movies as like, seasoning for a beat down - when really they are a tool that, when introduced to a fistfight, break bones quite easily and can kill someone with one or two blows. You get in about the same amount of trouble, or maybe more, than for using a knife in self defense, but at least the knife has utility outside of the fistfight/mugging most people never experience at all, or maybe once in their lives if they do.

He has always been cringe sadly. Did buy their spetsnatz shovel 10+ years ago and its still in perfect condition. Also I don't wear a fedora nor suits and would stand out like an autismo. I'll stick to blades and firearms for now.
>>64381415
My buddy has two tonfas and its pretty amazing with them. The whip just seems interesting. One quick smack across the face with one would stop most attackers. Dogs for sure. Nothing beats a base though for blunt force trauma.
Always wondered how effective a leather slapper was back in the early 1900's

The complete inability to embrace righteous violence is what turned me off of modern Christianity. That and the willful ignorance surrounding the biological reality and consequences of race. I know it wasn't always this way but the idea you should allow evil because you'd be 'just as bad' if you used violence to prevent it is nonsensical. And by the way, in case it gets misconstrued, I consider state-sanctioned proactive violence against malcontents righteous as has nearly every person who has ever lived.

People get the message of turning the other cheek completely wrong. It's not about just laying down and taking it, it's about not being a petty vengance seeking cunt. Be the bigger person and just get on with your life.

The Quran does say that love can be a sword, and that violence can be done as an act of divine love. A Buddhist actually told me that, weirdly enough, and I think about it a lot. I've never had to shoot anyone, and it's hard for me to imagine doing so in alignment with love instead of hatred or fear, but I believe it's possible, yaknow, righteous violence - though what I am thinking of is definitely not at all like police officers beating homeless people with batons LOL.

Anyhow, to get back on topic, I feel like batons are really only deployed by cops during riots now, and otherwise it's preferable to use a taser to subdue individuals instead of swinging a stick, and that maybe has more to do with their being phased out than optics. A friend of mine carries a telescoping baton for self defense and I cannot convince her to get a gun instead.

>Incarceration as a deterrence doesn’t work on people with low time preference, you need immediate physical violence to correct their behavior
Swiftness and certainty of punishment is a bigger deterrence than severity (i.e. long sentences)
>>
>>64382443
Yes, anon, he would violently drive the greedy, predatory money lenders from his temple. That is actually the very opposite of state sanctioned violence against homeless people, which is why I beseeched poor anon for mercy. I'm a /k/ poster, just because I believe in mercy doesn't mean I'm a pacifist. I just don't fuck with the agents of Rome, and having escaped homelessness I will always look out for their dignity (even if a lot of them don't themselves).

To try and stay on topic, again, every homeless person I know these days just carries a knife of some kind or maybe a razor, but there is this one guy that hangs around a parking deck with a length of rebar that has a chunk of concrete on the end like a club, reminds me of a FO3 super mutant, though he is just an average sized old man. He's a dickhead, too, but he is somehow friendly with a bus driver that I'm also friends with, and he is trying to make peace between us. I think the meth wants us to be enemies, though. I'm really curious where he found it, or if he made it, and why he doesn't have a knife like everybody else.

>Incarceration as a deterrence doesn’t work on people with low time preference...
That aint it chief. A person with low time preference would perceive negative NPV in a criminal activity based on applying a low rate of discount to the future costs of incarceration. A person with high time preference would discount the future costs heavily enough such that they might arrive at a positive NPV for the criminal act. People like (you) should stop treating /pol/ and /pol/ adjacent groups and places as a place where there is reliable information - you learn things and pickup habits there that are hilariously backwards and out you immediately as exceptionally misinformed.
>you need immediate physical violence to correct their behavior
Maybe, but if it's true then I don't believe it would be caused by time preference. It would be caused by operant conditioning of the individuals affected - their conditioned refusal to repeat the acts would provide a social disincentive against those acts. Ie if people who have previously committed crimes are now all conditioned against doing it again and evince aversion to doing it again in social intercourse then repeat offense will not occur and also committing crime will not be seen as a cool activity to emulate. Even socially enforced rites of passage that condition participants against themselves by being immediately unpleasant aren't ever seen as "cool" and participants don't do them again or create copycat mimicry by people who don't need to do it.

This is exactly the way the Romans viewed Christians and why they generally deferred Christian issues to the Jews to decide.
Christians were just the annoying, whiny hippie flowerchild subgenre of Judaism.
Still are.
