Is the M9 the peak handgun?
>>
Definitely my favorite handgun, at least from a design perspective.
>>
>>64383524
Some people like the smell of shit. Some people like the sound of someone vomiting. Some people like things that have serious design flaws. Those are the kind of people who.like the m9.

The older ones yes, the newer one? No. Kinda iffy no matter who or what country built it overall.

the two peaks are the double stack 1911 in .45 ACP and the Five Seven
>>
may the creator of the double-stack 1911 be double-penned for all eternity for his sin.
>>
>>64386671
Where did this neofudd opinion start about newer Berettas being "not good" or whatever? As far as I can tell they are just fine and work great. The lower end models like the 92FS and M9 suffer from having visible machining marks on the slides now, but other than prickling the most autistic autist's sensibilities this doesn't effect function at all. I've got a new production M9 and it's been totally fine, literally zero problems. I keep hearing guys saying stupid shit like "oh you gotta get one made before 20XX" or "oh you have to get an Italian one broooo" and they are literally all the same functionally.

Can someone explain this to me? I'm just not seeing their quality or reliability drop

your low standards and other peoples standards are not the same.

That doesn't look like a USP or a Glock or a P226

The exposed barrel and slide mounted safety selector are both really stupid choices from a design perspective

lol no one has mentioned it isn't a berretta it's Turkish
>>
>>64383738
The only design flaw is the slide mounted safety - which is totally alleviated by converting to g model decock only - in which it doesn't matter if on slide
>Oh no I decocked my gun when I racked it, damn it!
Said no one ever
Vs
>Oh no I put the gun on safe when I racked it, damn it
Just Frame mounted safety things

Best implementation of a frame mounted safety ever with the mak btw

The M9 is kino but the P226 is peak pistol. To this point, every handgun designed after these two is merely a stepping stone to cyberpunk 6.9x27 FUR squirt-to-order vending machine gats so are not in the running.
>>
>>64383524
I wouldn’t call it peak, but I would call it the sexiest. The black M9, that is, not that ugly puke mud color.
>>
Slide mounted safety is fine, great even. It 100% renders the gun safe, there's no way you could get the thing to go off on its own even if you hammered at the back of the slide. Accidentally engaging it while racking the slide is a meme eventuality

Why doesn’t the Army just press the m9 back into service?
Sure the ergonomics are not perfect because the fat grip but it’s far better, and safer in the hands of a trained user than a condition 0 gun where the striker slips with any jostling
Besides
It is a sexy gun

it competes with glock for the title of top handgun of all time, i might need to pick up a black version soon as well.
>>
>>64384113
Anon. You can’t just ask people about that
>>
>>64390126
The Sig is super cheap, like 1/2 the price of the M9A4 which was cheaper than the original M9 contract per unit price
>>
>>64388779
Open actions weren't a problem for the M1 Garand or the SMLE. They're even less of an issue for a gun that spends most of it's time in a holster.
The slide mounted safety frees up space on the frame for hands. Many people prefer slide mounted safeties for this reason.
So no. not
>really stupid choices
>>
Yes
The optics mount solution is garbage though unfortunately
You should at the very least put a compensator on that threaded barrel until the AFT clears your paperwork
>>
>>64384113
He wanted to match the FDE paint job
>>
>>64383524
It was until mounting red dots on pistols became popular. Now its just very close to peak.
>>
>>64390672
They just need to mil an ACRO style rail mount to the slide but these optics companies are refusing to work together over a pistol optics mount solution.
I wish the military would standardize ANYTHING railed over the RMR with their bullshit tiny screws.
We should be at AR simplicity by now...

320 is more expensive counting the retrofit needed to make it safe to carry chambered https://angledspade.com/the-angle/press-release-angled-spade-technologies-patent-application-us20250164203a1/

Fbi said it also goes off when you jostle, jump or jiggle. cocked striker in a gun with huge tolerances thanks to being made in minimum wage lines to be cheap isn’t all that great a combo it turns out.

Was the 226 too expensive or something?
>>
>not one mention of the cz 75b
>>
>>64390686
Kill yourself retard, the P320 is offered to the military below 200 dollars per unit cost, including accessories. There is no retrofit and “uncommanded” discharges are still not repeatable even with the same pistol.

Why are you asking me when you don’t know anything you stupid fag

you will always be a newfag

So are you getting paid or are you doing this for free? How many of them have to go off before you finally trust your lying eyes anon? How many bong rips do you have to take before you start deepthroating SIG in random discussion on the internet?
>>
>>64386721
Because spaghetti steel can barely handle 40 S&W and that was after they added a recoil buffer to accomodate it. It's not going to handle 10mm.

I’m replying to an aids ridden faggot who’s speaking from his diseased ass. There is no fix for the P320 since no one knows the issue and can repeat it in official testing. The FBI testing required them to disable safety features and reach in with a dental pick.
>>
>>64391778
There is a safety retrofit restraining the striker that has already been patented
>replicated
The FBI already showed lose tolerances make it slip
>>64390874
It would cost several hundred to retrofit each gun with an armorer

The fbi showed you needed to reach in with a dental pick you stupid faggot. The 3rd party safety “fix” is some guy just trying to capitalize on the situation. You’re really fucking stupid for a phd holder

Unless you partly depress the trigger. Then it slips from anything. And they documented tolerances are absurd that guarantees slipping which has already been shown on YouTube.
> The 3rd party safety “fix” is some guy
A sig engineer who tried to talk them into making 320 with a sticker immobilizing safety and got turned down
So you say but if it’s cheap it might be the best way to make a $200 into a real gun
> You’re really fucking stupid
Yeah
That’s true
