I recently bought my first AR-15 and I'm trying to mount a traditional style handguard. Does this mounting system not work on Springfield Saints? I'm very new and have no clue what's goin on. Please help : )
You can't mount that handguard to a Saint without the right hardware. You'd need>a new barrel nut>gas block >delta ring kit you can find all that stuff for free in a police cruiser if you're fast and lucky
The gun I have already has delta ring on it but the handguard seems to not slot in right to the top ring part. I know there are triangle shaped ones. Do I need to change out the top of the handguard mount? (This is the Saint NOT the VIctor) If that helps. Would I still need all the stuff your talking about?
>>64388799You're better off getting handguards that fit the setup your rifle has, rather than changing the rifle for 10 dollar M4 handguards
I'm fine with getting a different one. I just need to know what system I need to get them for. What is the mounting style I need? The pictured end cap don't work. Is there a certain type I need to look for? Or do they not make the M4 style ones in the style of my rifle?
>>64388685Post a picture of your gasblock
Please post a picture or link the exact model of your gun
>>64388869what shape is this part here? There are multiple different kinds, and that part is probably your problem. The handguard you have is for a triangular endcap, that's why it has all those extra plastic tabs.
>>64388799>I know there are triangle shaped ones. You need one of thoseI had the same problem with Magpul rifle length handguards, but I just bubba filed the offending parts down so it would fit a round endcap

>>64388889If you don't mind potentially ruining the part if you remove too much it's fine go for it
I can't return it anyway. I'll try filing. Do they need to just be shorter or completely removed?
>>64388889yeah if you don't plan on returning the handguard (probably not worth the hassle) just try that. If it doesn't work not like you really lost too much hopefully, those plastic handguards should be cheap.>>64388896this is what that part looks like on a handguard that fits on a round endcap. Just line yours up, and see what is bumping into the cap, that's what needs to go. I've never done it so don't really have any advice beyond that.Normally mid length guns use triangle endcaps, springfield decided to be special
HELL YEAH IT WORKED!!! Thank you for your help good sir. I wish you great fortune.
>>64388941Use the dremel and unfuck your fingernails>disgusting
>>64389034his fingernails look fine anon wtf are you talking about
I've got lady like fingers. Sry anon. I shoulda rerolled when I was born. : )
>>64389112Not him but they're way long
I know it's your gun your choice, but my favorite part of the saint are the comfy narrow handguards
>>64389112>his fingernails look fine anon wtf are you talking aboutNo they fucking don't, you filthy pigfucker. They're disgusting. I'm guessing yours are too. Go clip them, stat.
>>64388719You can also get all that shit for free if you know someone who put a free floating handguard in and has a box full of parts.
>>64390685>if you know someone who put a free floating handguard in and has a box full of parts.I think a lot of people are here because they don't know or aren't friends with any gun people
>>64390685he had everything anyway. just needed to shave his parts. Hope it's snug. Shaved parts have a way of getting all rickety.
>>64388799I miss when you didn't have to spend extra on a Victor to get the freefloat HG.t. bought one in CA long ago, it'll do 0.5 MOA if I do my part
