Reminds me a bit more of Ron Volstad's illustrations in Osprey books, esp. the second pic you posted that is more "static".Also check out Bohumil "Bimba" Konecny of Czechoslovakia, who illustrated countless youth adventure novels, but also did advertising pics and pin-up girls. Some of his pictures have very similar style (and energy) like Joubert's.
