I reached a new level of Canadian gun owner cope: buying an air pistol.
It's heavy, feels solid, and is fun to shoot
I wish I got my license a few years earlier and bought a real pistol.

Air pistols are good for training and building up skills. Better than 22lr guns imo for that. Best if you can find one with movable slide and detachable mag so you can run drills with it.
Just make sure to go to a rental range to use a full size handgun once a month or two.

My goto is the Baikal MP-654k, which is easily the highest quality air pistol ever made but has been unobtanium ever since the war in Donbas started.

If you like revolvers, the Crosman SNR357 and related models are pretty fun, i use the 6mm version for airsoft. Crosman 357 Vigilante is a classic budget option for a target pistol, although the trigger's sloppy.

For semi autos, i have a blowback Beretta M9 clone that's decent. There's plenty of blowback 1911 clones that are also good.
Cool copies of Lugers and C96s if you like that. Stay away from any lever or pump pistol, it ruins your ability to do follow up shots. CO2 pistols are the way to go.

If there's one in your area, go to an airsoft shop and ask to see what they have for bb/airsoft pistols. If a pistol catches your eye, ask to try holding it and dry fire if they let you. If you like it, buy it along with some BBs and oil.

Any air pistol over 500fps is a restricted firearm and a handgun, yes. You only see them for olympic target shooting.

Any no-pal air pistol available here will do 450-490fps, opt for the 22 version for greater muzzle energy over 177. Crosman 2240 or 1322 are prob your best options.

Clown nation, but we knew that. So glad I get to own my .44 revolver but can't buy an actual toy. Do you think 490fps and a .22 pellet is enough to dispatch a bun at 10-15 yards? I'd really hate to wound one or have to pellet its poor ass a bunch of times but idk how much energy they really need.

People do use air rifles for pests but you're certainly at the low end performance wise. Definitely go for headshots.

You could also buy a Chiappa Little Badger if stopping power was a concern. They're compact and weigh nothing.
>>
>>64394168
I've got a badger and I carry a 10/22 if I'm just out for small game, I just wanted something that I could wear in a holster while carrying a .308 rifle. I know the badger is compact but it's so annoying to carry, set my main gun down, deploy, etc.

Went to a citizenship ceremony for a family member today, out of 86 people besides my family member only 2 other White People. The guy announcing it asked for crying kids to be taken out of the room 3 times and the Jeets with crying kids ignored it every time. The entire ceremony was about Natives and how much the new Citizens need to help "mend relations with the indigenous people" and the only mention of Europeans in the history of Canada was the explanation that Metis are partially European. I noticed several people not reciting the Oath (which included a phrase about confirming indigenous rights) after the speaker said refusing to recite the oath would mean a denial of citizenship despite no one watching to make sure the oath was said. The whole ceremony was a farce.
>>
>>64397002
The ban wave for these is already spreading through blue states in the US. The moniker they use in the legislation is "rapid fire trigger activator" so it presumably covers anything and everything. It might be freer in the US, but the war never ends.
>>
>>64397342
I would have refused to recite the oath as well if the ceremony was that much of a shitshow. I hope your white family members didn't recite it either.
>>
>>64397350
>I hope your white family members didn't recite it either.
They did because they are becoming a citizen and the oath is an intrinsic part of the process. For non-Whites saying an oath isn't a binding promise, and they don't care about the fraud of not saying the oath because honour isn't intrinsic to their cultures. Regardless if you agree with the allegiance to the Crown or to uphold native rights or not, it's a part of becoming Canadian. I don't agree with part of the content but you shouldn't get citizenship if you refuse to pledge allegiance through the oath.
>>
>>64397371
>Regardless if you agree with the allegiance to the Crown or to uphold native rights or not, it's a part of becoming Canadian.
I would argue that the definition of "Canadian" has dissolved into meaninglessness and that the only important thing is for your family members to make a commitment to their family and racial identity. Everything else is a lie, and it is better not to make binding promises predicated on lies.
>>
>>64397342

>>
>>64397423

So now we all care because genocide guilt worked so well on the Germans.

We are the 3rd most profitiible province in the country (thanks largly to our lumber industry, behind only our real-estate) behind only Alb and Sask, but unlike them we are one of the most expensive provinces to live in the country, its fucked here, stop selling our wood to niggers.

I just want cheap fucking plywood and 2x4's so i can build shit, but we sell 90% of it and tax me out the fucking ass.

My understanding at the time was that whether to do the buyback at all was still in question as of about May, since they went forward with it I think that *was* their final direction.

I can only assume any change going forward is a reaction to the pilot in Cape Breton or them realizing how fucked they are going forward with very few municipal or provincial resources.

Never used it on leather, what's it do?
>>
>>64403376
it's good for reconditioning leather, it makes it more supple and cleans it too. I use it on my leather boots, gives them a shine and keeps them from drying out and cracking more than they already are. Ballistol was originally intended as a do all oil for the german troops, to be used on rifles and leather equipment.
>>
Another ballistol tip: I keep a tin full of soaked barrel cleaning patches when I go hunting/camping. Even with wet wood and twigs, one 12gauge patch will burn long enough to start a fire with anything. And it's good for your skin too.

I have a can from years ago, but only used it for generic gun cleaning because I heard boomer lore that it was a do-all cleaner/lubricant.

I'm going to try it on an old, dry, creased K31 sling I bought but never got around to putting on my rifle.

Nobody's raping anybody, Carney will have even less political capital to work with next year than he has now. His approval rating is tanking, and nobody likes his public safety minister. So either he keeps extending into the next election, he cancels the gun grab, or he's actually dumb enough to forge ahead with it and trigger a career ending political disaster. Whatever happens I'm not handing in shit.

Very hard. The trapper course wont help you as you need to apprentice on a registered trapline (limited supply) to qualify for the trapping subset of wilderness ATC.

I tried applying for a wilderness ATC for work (Alberta) as i thought my job would qualify. I work as a radio tower climber/builder on oilfield wellsites next to the BC border, rife with black bears and grizzlies. Remote wilderness area, dangerous wildlife, need both hands to work so cant use a long gun, no communications in these places (why we build the towers in the first place), and it's so windy bearspray wont work most of the time.

I talked to the CFO in person at a gunshow and had a very lengthy and in depth conversation as to whether my job would qualify. After much back and forth it boiled down to "why can't you just climb up the tower and stay up there till the bear goes away?". They'll do anything to deny your ATC application. You're honestly much better off buying a short barrel long gun and carrying it in a scabbard; i had a 14" barrel 308 custom made for exactly such a purpose.

The buyback is ending, and will all essentially be given a new class of prohib license, which is kind of neat because it means if you missed out on M4’s and VZ’s, but gotta type 81, he’ll now be able to use your license to buy the guns you missed out on secondhand.
The amnesty extension was put in place months ago and was just published in the gazette, it wouldn’t make sense for them to have frozen it or stopped it, but trust me, that’s their plan laid out. Poley gets to save face and say they prevented the sale of all of these guns, the liberals get to save face and say they’ve come up with some brand new lovely solution that saves the country money (even though they first started doing prohib licenses decades ago)

Starting to save for an M4 but i see TI is bringing in M3 clones. They look neat and they’re a third of the price, anyone try one yet? Are they any good? I haven’t heard any reviews on them yet. I know they’re turkshit but the ability to go from pump to semi auto is neat. I know it’s not the real deal and the added complexity of the pump system with the semi auto system from the M2 makes me nervous.

Question about SKS cleaning after shooting corrosive ammo:
What parts do i need to clean?
Barrel, bolt, piston?
Do i need to clean the receiver interior, recoil spring too?
Do i need to pull the firing pin from the bolt for every cleaning?
>>
>>64404772
>What parts do i need to clean?
All of it
>Do i need to pull the firing pin from the bolt for every cleaning?
No

Keep in mind you can leave it for a few days and it’ll be fine, I normally clean mine after each range day. It’s just a quick field strip and some G96

When I shot corrosive out of my old SVT i completely entirely disassembled every single part of the rifle, washed the parts with water to remove all corrosive salts, hit them with a hair dryer to dry them off, wiped them down and then oiled them and reassembled. It was overkill but it was also an SVT. With a mosin I just stick it into the dirt with the bayonet, pull the bolt, and spray water down the barrel/spray the bolt off on the ground. Dry off, oil up, ez. How far you go depends on how anxious you are about maintaining every little piece of the rifle. Your main focus should be on the barrel, bolt, and gas system for that rifle though. If you enjoy cleaning rifles like I do then go as far as ya like.

I ask because the firing pin retainer was super hard to remove during decosmolining. I soaked it in mineral spirits for hours and still bent a punch in the process.
>>64404806
>How far you go depends on how anxious you are about maintaining every little piece of the rifle.
It's my only SKS and a unissued tickler so i'd like to keep it in as good a condition as possible. I'm used to cleaning black powder guns so i'm wondering what the inclusion of a gas system forces me to clean.
>>
>>64405057
I’ve never owned an SKS but afaik it’s pretty important that you keep the firing pin clean and gunk free unless you want to have a 5 round burst. Taking the gas system apart is easy, just rinse it and dry it, wipe it down and oil it. Doesn’t hurt to soak a pipe cleaner in oil and give it a few passes through the gas block aswell.
>>
>>64404478
>i know theyre turkshit
>but
No but. If you know, you know. Don’t come here asking for a copium supply.
>>
you guys are weird about corrosive ammo
just clean the bore/piston every time, and occasionally clean the rest and you'll be fine
if you store your gun in a high humidity environment you should be more vigilant, but it's not nearly as corrosive as people seem to think, the main problem is the salts attract water

if you spray a gun down with something like ballistol it will prevent any corrosion, if you don't feel like cleaning right away
>>
>>64404972
