>>64403796>reach parity with superpowers such as the US and China While this on its own is a hilariously delusional goal, trying to reach it by wasting funds on such an insane logistical footprint is even more delusional.
>>64403525>>64403796Indonesia is one of the countries that will become a superpower someday and rival the US.Indonesia is now set to have a capable Airforce once these jets land in Indonesia early next year not to mention Indonesia is buying 5th generation stealth fighter jets from Turkiye.Indonesia also has long range ballistic missile strike capabilities thanks to Turkiye.take note that indonesia see australia as frienemy. australia is a friend, but have high potential to become an enemy. if you read history about relationship between the two countries, the two countries already find them self as enemies many times in history. there's even a prophecy by king jayabaya from 7th century that said nusantara (indonesia) will go to war with it's southern nation (australia) to become the regional superpower that rule indian ocean and south east asia
>>64403802Looking at how the US turns a blind eye to Israelis killing women and children, Indonesians fear they would be treated similarly to Palestinians if there were conflicts, for example, between Indonesia and Australia. Historically, Indonesia has been mistreated by the US and Australia before. Indonesian has more realistic view of relationship with Superpower. In fact, Indonesia is the one who has to worry even though it is non-aligned but is surrounded by American military bases. such as in Singapore, Papua New Guinea, Australia, etc. there is a possibility that other countries will attack it to take its resources, for example, Australia, which has a military backup from the US, could help Papua become completely independent, especially as Indonesia's military equipment is much more outdated than Australia's. especially because Indonesia is flanked by China and Australia, where the issue will definitely be related to the blurred South China Sea and Australia's potential to help Micronesia push for the liberation of Papua... so maintaining and increasing Indonesia military strength is important...

FCDO is also just the current name the Brits use for their foreign affairs ministry these days. It makes more sense that someone was trying to impersonate a seething Australian and fucked up their Commonwealth states than anything else.'Resource centres like the USA' is also incredibly awkward phrasing.
>>64405683Why and how will they let Bangladesh build helicopters when the order is merely 6-12 at most? Not to mention the parts, the engine specially is burger and no experience as well. I have serious question.Who does modern aircrfat logistics look with the existence of metal 3d printers?I know an space engineer that swearsbthat perfeomances of properly 3 printed, annealed and heat treated part are 99% of pieces made with the old methods. I do not remember which specific metal he was talking about, but i assume it can do alloys. So can't you just install a couple of metal 3D printers on all airbases, and print pieces as needed?A metal 3d printer, IIRC, was around 1-10 milions USD.
>>64409522To give a serious answer, this only really applies with parts that have to endure purely compressive loads. The crystalline structure of metal becomes MUCH more important under shearing load or tension. A bolt made with additive methods would break more easily than a conventionally made one.Right now additive manufacturing methods cannot deliver a consistent internal crystalline structure in the way that casting or forging can. You can (and manufacturers already do) use additive manufacturing for specific parts, where the loads aren't trying to pull the piece apart, and there's sufficient savings to be had by printing the part rather than casting/stamping/forging and cutting it.
>>64408201Again, this is drivel only this time it's slightly angrier drivel.
>>64403525>>F-16>>Su-30>>FA-50>>Rafale>>Kaan>>F-15EX>>KF-21>>J-10CFive out of those eight planes use US-made or US-licensed engines, so they do absolutely nothing to make the Indonesian Air Force more resilient to sanctions. In fact, it's actually MORE vulnerable because now either the United States OR South Korea could cut them off from spares for the KF-21 and FA-50 and the United States OR Turkey could the same for the Kaan, whereas if Indonesia had just bought more F-16s they would only have to worry about a single country suddenly deciding not to sell them any more parts.>>64403895Ah, yes. The US and Australia oppressed Indonesia by *checks notes* not intervening against Indonesia.

>>64414518Not him>, getting all the basic NATO capabilities Most (by number) NATO aircrafts still uses mechanically steered antennas (or it was like that until recently)... sharing the same airframe with the J-10C makes easier a posterior upgrade if it wasn't already done. And the AL-31FN isn't a "bad engine" if you need a navalized engine now that can also be re-engined in 10 years, unlike the original AL-31F, Salyut replaced the fan (more thrust or considerably longer engine life because it can match the old 31F with a TIT ~40K colder) and IIRC the Chinese partially upgraded the hot section to match the AL-31FM2 used on the J-20. China produces the relevant spares too so they can avoid ending with grounded fleet like other SEA countries relying on Russia. Not a 10C but still better than a JF-17 (the new block)
