How would it work?
>>64408427I suppose you could have a weird design that pushes the shells from the drum into the feeding tube
>>64408427>Have pump gun >add a can of beans with duck tape to the front end for some fucking reason>???>mercilessly beat wife in a drunken stupor and lose custody, your house and your life>live on the streets now, but at least I still have a secret stash of beans, you think to yourself, while pulling your thin coat a little tighter around you body>soon everyone will know me as bean bonk shotgun hobo, you think as you light up that pipe to make the shivers go away
>>644084273 in the tube, 5 in the drum, drum somehow pushes horizontally into the tube? Like Alof's device sorta
Jonathan Ferguson (the keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries museum in the UK) said that there isn't no physical way that this thing could work, so I believe him.https://youtu.be/z9YgonyJmc4?t=950
>>64408485>I believe him. That says a lot of bad things about you
>>64408497Elaborate please. The guy clearly knows his shit, why I am not supposed to believe what he says?
They nerfed the personality out of this gun.Same with reserve shooter. Just no point in using them after their original gimmick is erased.
>>64408427I don't thing that front can is a magazine. I think it's either some sort of gas system like a silencer or a handguard against incoming fire.
>>64408512Because he's wrong about a ton of things. I'm typing this on my phone and am not inclined to go through the monumental effort of going through his videos to give you examples but what I'm saying is the genuine truth. He just doesn't know much.
>>64408514The Reserve Shooter is still viable on Soldier if you're skilled enough. On Pyro it has become overshadowed by the Panic Attack though.
>>64408532says who?
>>64408537Me. Disbelieve it if you want, it won't make me less right. Alternatively, learn more about firearms and then watch his videos again and see if your opinion of him remains the same.
>>64408427folded barrel.
>>64408514Reserve shooter on pyro was toxic as fuckFree hitscan minicrits for pressing RMB once is just too muchAs for panic attack, I agree that it killed the personality but it also made the gun more viable - the switch speed makes it actually good for pyros and soldiers
This is now a Team Fortress 2 thread.
INCOMMMMINNGGGGG
>>64408497>>64408532>Declares actual professional wrong>Refuses to elaborate>Expects to be taken seriously
>>64408429That was my thought.. have a thin belt with spacers and pawls to grab the rim of each shell in the tube so they feed through without a spring…. Put another catch on the slide so it advances the shells down when you rack it…. But that’s a lot of work to make it more barrel heavy
>>64408485He doesn't have much imagination then.
>>64408427Of all the retarded vidya designs you could have posted you picked one that could actually work.It puts a heap of weight at the end which would suck but that could be made to work with a spring in each cylinder to push the shell into the tube to an extractor style rim hook that feeds down the tube with each pump.
>>64408427I assume it's to poke fun at the trench shotgun from Fallout 3. >>64408914>a spring in each cylinderIf it's a cylinder and not a fixed drum, what rotates the cylinder?
>>64408965>what rotates the cylinder?Cut a cam groove into it and have a rod on the forend run in it.
>>64408954Yeah, smth like this. Rail inside the tube picking up shells from the drum. It's doable.
>>64408427It's a drum fed shotgun with a 3" barrel. Ejection works like a backwards F2000, the tube that looks like the barrel just has fired cases in it that eventually pop out through the ejection port.
>>64408485>OY GOVNA THAT IS NOT POSSIBLEIt's literally just a drum mag that feeds a tube magazine.>but he reloads it by shoving a shell into the ejection p-I don't care. The pretty boy pistol for example was only modded to be that huge so it can reuse the default pistol animations, and he knows that. He is being deliberately oblivious
>>64408965>>64409039Or use a wound up clock spring. Hell, even a little electric motor with a 9 volt battery could work.A cylinder/drum feeding into a tube magazine would be clunky and kind of backwards, but I see no reason you couldn't actually make it work with enough effort and thinking.
>>64408427I don't see why it couldn't exist. This does.>>64408485I fucking hate this retard so much.
The real question is, how could a scattergun work IRL? Lever action makes some sense, perhaps some form of mirrored feed, shoots and loads two shells at once?
>>64408485>>64408512firearms history and understanding the function of firearms are two different thingsI could tell you about how the colt 1902 evolved into the 1911 without knowing how any of the iterations worked, for example. it's like asking a neurologist about psychiatry, yeah there are connections between the two but it's not the same thing.now if John Moses Browning were still alive and told me that this gun would never work, maybe I'd believe him.
It doesn't. Pic related is optimal sentry destroyer
>>64411018I've always wanted a full-auto Sten/Sterling with a conical flashhider and which fires large nails.
>>64408452If you did all that shit they'd take the bean can gun from you too.T. Accused of dv
>>64408485
>>64408452Living my dream
>>64408485He cant even own guns
>>64408427I suppose it would deploy 50% faster and have 50% more pellets per shot. It probably would have a fixed spread pattern when firing and get less accurate with each shot. Probably a damage penalty as well, maybe around 20% to make up for the extra pellets. Thats just my guess though.
>>64411015>if John Moses Browning were still alive and told me that this gun would never work, maybe I'd believe him50% chance that he would just make the design happen, if only as a proof of concept, to show that it's actually possible. Man was frightfully imaginative and clever.

>>64408427Give the tube a spring, follower, and "follower handle" on the follower like an 1860 Henry or Volcanic Repeater. The tube is filled with rounds. The spring+follower blocks rounds from feeding after passing the drum's opening. When the gun is empty, simply push that follower back forward and let the drum fill the tube again (think: drum mag spraying out rounds). Gravity may have to assist getting the rounds towards the receiver (point muzzle at 45 degree angle up). When filled, again let go of the follower.Alternatively, the follower and spring is somehow attached to the pump and the tube holds only one or two rounds. Pump has to be attached to that follower or at least have an arm interacting with it. You pump and a rack and pinion attached to an arm of the pump shoves the follower forward to pop another round into that mag tube when you close. How one keeps spring tension on the next round as you pump forwards again, I don't know. Maybe one round is always on the lifter as the bolt closes so it's pretty much self-ghost loaded at all times. I'm sure you could make it work if you had enough time.>>64408554My god...
>>64409039Holy shit that is so much better than my rack and pinion bullshit. You still have the problem of having to squish down the mag tube spring and follower past the drum between each shot so it revolving or spitting out the next round into the tube so it doesn't just twist and crunch your mag tube spring though.
>>64414560Why would spring reciprocate
>>64408427the same way of a formal pump action shotgun with a tube magazine, only that this magazine is enlarged by a self rotating, spring activated drum that feeds the tube mag and then the chamber. it would be a little tricky to make it work reliably and it would be an absolute bitch to reload, but it's still within the realm of possibility.
>>64408427i believe the only way to make it work is to reload the shotgun directly from the drum, with a reciprocating system similar to the street sweeper. you can't possibly reload from the ejection port without jamming also wiggling the gun to make the cartridge slide down the tube, while simultaneously rotate the drum in order for the cartridge to get in the drum case, and do it all over again. if the gun reloaded like in the video game it would likely need a solid minute or more to reload it from an empty mag, at which point i believe a black powder musket would be more reliable.
>>64408485H3VR got the stock weapons to work, he'd find a way.
