Since italy is apparently interested in developing a nuclear carrier by the 2040s, and since the current GCAP project does not include a CATOBAR variant, how would they hypothetically arm this ship? Shouldn't they, I don't know, be more interested in the french FCAS, which is getting issues with partners specifically because it's a CATOBAR design and germany doesn't need it?
Italy produces kino like the 92fs and M-346 Master they wouldn't be caught dead designing something with the snail eaters.

>>64408794>FREMMalready a disaster before it even started
>>64408798FREMM is considered the best frigate design in the world you contrarian faglord. If the USA wants 50 of them there's a good reason for that.
>>64408808the USA is rapidly turning into south africa so the fact they find the fremm impressive speaks more of the US than it does of the fremm
>>64408779They're evaluating the idea. There's no hard commitment, and by the point of Cavour's replacement the F-35B pipeline will be fully entrenched. I don't see it happening.>>64408808Considered the best by whom, and at what? Fincantieri offered the best bid and had a US shipyard. That's why they won.

it would likely never be built before the 2060s, if italy does exist by that time. in the meantime, they invest in proven designs, and the GCAP is exactly that. no point in becoming a partner or just buying catobar jets off the shelf if they're gonna sit in a hangar for 30 odd years waiting for the carrier to carry them to be built
