Do you'll niggers fuck with blacked powder?
>>
I wish I had a BP friendly range
>>
>>64409336
Got a brown bess and a snider.
>>
>>64409336
I have a cap and ball revolver. I need to shoot it more.
>>
>>64409363
Look around. Ranges that only allow black powder are a thing. They often overlap with archery and/or native American or frontier craft stuff.

Different anon, I had no idea such things existed. I might have to look more into that in my area.

Yes I shoot bp. And also yes, I am formerly convicted. If I wasn't, I wouldn't
>>

Yes. I live on public land. I have every black powder gun I want.
>One 50 cal flintlock rifle for deer
>One 50 cal flintlock pistol for finishing deer
>One homemade 71 cal matchlock pistol because it was a fun project (I made the mechanism, barrel, everything. I use it as a shot finisher for small game)
>One 71 cal matchlock musket for fun and shooting small game from my back deck on an arquebus stand
>One 71 cal musket flintlock to use as a slug deer gun or shotgun for squirrel
>One 32 cal rifle flintlock for rabbit/squirrel/grouse
>one 20 gauge double barrel shotgun flintlock for duck
I also live on a chert deposit. I make my own flints and I can make the leather flint covers out of squirrel hide. I make my own slings, gun bags, etc from shit I kill.
I have pretty much every black powder gun I ever wanted. I hate percussion caps since they defeat the purpose of being self reliant. I can easily make my own black powder (I still buy bulk since I can't do precision crafting for ff/fff)
I find black powder guns to be easy to clean and take care of. It's fun having an intimate knowledge of the weapon and larping as a pioneer. Even liberal women find the guns cool instead of scary. God I could rant for hours. One of my uncles who i'm friends with is a blacksmith who specializes in making custom black powder guns for movies and wants to teach me shit. Tempted to turn black powder smithing into a second job.
I even cast my own bullets I shoot so much but i'll buy tungsten shot for duck.
>>
>>64409363
Imagine not living in a forest with enough land to do what the fuck you wanted. Or not living close to a national/state forest where you legally set up your own range. Just don't leave shit in your car unless you want some injins to snatch your shit lol.

Intro level but nice. Pederlosi? The only reputable mass production brown bess muskets are made by them. Makes a good squirrel shotgun. If you have the money i'd say go custom since mass production flints don't tend to tune their mechanisms that well or make the best frizzens for that balance of a reliable spark and durability.
>>
>>64409556
Unless you own your own land you're driving hours out to go shoot. Even in places where you can shoot on people's lands the reality is unless you fuck off to nowhere or shoot subsonic suppressed exclusively you will get cops called. Guy in my state nearly got shot by cops because a boomer complained about hearing faint suppressed rapid fire from hundreds of meters away.
>>
>>64409572
I own land and its parallel to a state forest where I can legally shoot/hunt on either. I used to shoot every day and never once had an interaction with a ranger/warden. But that sucks, I am guessing you live east of the Mississippi? Living in a state with little public land is a mistake many make.
>>
>>64409586
Adjacent*
You get the idea. I work a remote job in the woods that pays good and doesn't have me moving around. I know that's not attainable for many. The easiest way I know for neighbors is to be a long haul trucker or oil worker, work away for a few months, then spend the rest at home. That life style sucks and its hard to live in the deep woods and get paid enough to live with comfort.

Where do you live? This is the reality these days.

Look I just had to listen to a guy cry about not being able to shoot for months due to fire season. I know this brag, its not that impressive when it's mother may I.

Ahahah,HAHAHAH!!!!! Patetiskt.

Not in north western Washington apparently. Never once had any issues

I live near Canada, west of the Mississippi and not on a coast. Right next to a state forest, about 30-45 min drive to a national forest.
>>64409606
That can be true depending on where you shoot and how the weather has been. I've never had a fire start from a black powder gun.

What sort of effective range do you get with your long guns? I have a pedersoli flintlock Kentucky in .45 but haven't really been able to dial in the group. I must be doing something wrong I know they can be pretty accurate

>>64409641
If you can't figure it out on your own you are beyond help and probably don't even like shooting. There is no point in continuing to point out how easy finding spots are if you live in the right area

>>
>>64409704
I can hit shit up to 200 yards on a good day but I would never try to kill a deer over 100 yards. 100 yards is a good 45-50 cal standard for a max ethical range/grouping imo.
>>
>>64409762
Damn that's pretty good anon. Maybe it's my dog shit trigger pull not being used to the lock time. I also don't size the balls but who knows if I'd notice the difference anyway

Make sure your round shot is properly sized so it grips the rifling well. Use a good lubed patch as well and make sure its properly seated. If you are doing serious marksmanship, you should get a long, sturdy, brass range rod so you can clean the gun every 3-5 shots (it will shoot more but you won't have shots accurate enough for long range hunting at that point). A good hunting flintlock has a double set trigger. Most pedersoli guns should have a double set. It works kind of like a double action revolver. The front trigger is the saftey the second trigger is a hair trigger. And follow-through is very very important on flintlocks. The delay on a good flint from the strike of the frizzen to shot of the ball isn't that long but its not negligible. If you find yourself anticipating the explosion too much, what helped me most is actually handgun training.
Get a handgun and some dummy rounds. Its best to have a friend load the real rounds and dummy rounds in a random order. If you don't have a friend, get 3 mags, have a handful of dummy/real rounds, randomly load them without looking then scramble the mags like a game of ball in a cup. Then shoot and try to focus on your hand movements. When you hit a dummy round, you'll very easily be able to tell if you are anticipating the explosion.
>how does this help with black powder
Any time I shoot and i'm hunting, I tell myself in my head that it's a dummy round or going to be a dud. That the gun won't go off. It might not work for everyone but its done wonders for improving my steadiness when shooting and that crucial time between the pan-barrel powder ignition.

It's Swedish. As for the ø, the Danes also have them. In fact, that's half their fucking language. It's just øøø over and over. They written language is very similar to Norwegian, but their spoken language is just fucked. It almost sounds like Dutch, but with every consonant being a guttural g and every vowel being a øøø.

NTA, but it's different west of the Rockies. I'm also in western WA. I don't like shooting on public land because of retards and weirdos, so I pay to play on logging land. It's cheaper than range membership at most clubs. The downside is that it's almost an hour away, but seeing as how I can camp there, hunt there, forage there, collect firewood there, fish there, and basically do whatever the fuck that I want there as long as I don't hurt the new crop of trees, I'm pretty happy with it. It's seldom that I see other people there (the upside of paying to play is avoiding the tragedy of the commons), it's clean, and I'm completely left alone, even when having fun with the super safety. For a completely cucked state, WA's forests are all right. At least the private ones.

YMMV in places that don't do lumber.
>picrel is actually only part of what I have access to, but the other parts are further away and no better
>fact check me by plugging shelton washington into google maps and comparing to picrel
