When will they make a 37 mm version https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mk_18_Mod_0_grenade_launcher
>>64409988These things are so silly looking. Am I mistakenor were these things hand cranked? When I was a kid I built a model PBR that had a Mk18, always thought it had a very "unique" look
>>64411550>Am I mistakenor were these things hand cranked?idk but I think that hand crank in the picture is some kind of clue
>>64411550Yes it was. There was an absolute shitload of different US AGLs in Vietnam but only the MK19 is left standing. Some could be quite light like pic related and OP's but were low volocity grenade only like handheld launchers and the range was unsatisfactory
>>64411815The blow forward mark 20 mod 0 was not as dramatically lightweight as the previously mentioned (15 ish and 17 lb respectively) at 26 lb but is still a featherweight compared to the MK 19.Other HV automatic grenade launchers were even heavier
>>64411795Ah. My blind ass did not see it in the picture.>>64411815Neat, I didn't even know the Mk19 was used there
>>64411829Other than range, dismounted use was most hindered by the awkward bulk of the launcher and the weight and bulk of the grenades more than the weight of the launcher itself. This is coming from the XM174 mostly, not sure how much the others were trialed dismounted
>>64411845Oops wrong image but I wanted to post it anyway
>>64411851On some level the XM174 is allegedly in the m1919 although straight blowback.I suppose there's a resemblance
>>64411851That looks like it would weigh a lot more than 10 pounds, but I'm guessing it's mostly aluminum since the grenades are so low pressure.
>>64411866That's loaded drum weight.Wiki says the launcher is just a hair under 16 pounds for what's it's worth.
>>64411865>straight blowbackas god intended
