Looks like Beretta is attempting a hostile takeover of Ruger. They've bought enough stock to bulldoze a board president in an election. When Ruger asked what the intent was, Beretta only told them that the refuse to stop buying stock. Ruger has started activating poison pill provisions.

Why would Beretta want to control Ruger? Beretta already has significant US manufacturing and many overlapping products with Ruger, so there's no real synergies to be gained from control.

Synergy isn’t the goal. These cocksucking wops are trying to kill an American company.

>Chad Ruger has acquired 2 companies in the last 5 years, increasing production capacity
>Virgin Beretta copies Glock selling the same pistol for 40 fuckin years but metal and hammer fired instead, can only buy out majority shareholder position and whine at CEO during meetings
wops man

You're probably forgetting that Rugers business model is being a cast/MIM metal producer who also makes guns. That's part of the reason they've pushed that so hard with their products since the late 80s or early 90s. Beretta could theoretically completely end Rugers firearms end of things and still keep the company profitable with a bit of restructuring. I don't think guns were Rugers main profit source for most of the last 20yrs or so.

Not even close. They have 9%, and if they increase it to 10%, Ruger's poison pill defense activates and Beretta's position gets immediately diluted. As is, Beretta has enough to guarantee one board member, but not enough outside of that.

>MIM
I don't think Ruger has any MIM capacity, I think they're only an investment casting shop. If they had MIM, that would be significant. India and Indian companies went hard in on MIM early on, which is why so much global capacity is there (hence SIG's Indian parts). An American MIM source would be valuable for a western defense contractor, but the Pinr Tree Casting (Ruger's non-gun DBA) mentions nothing about MIM.

Woah, Anon! Are you telling me that the famously Italian company is EUROPEAN???
Fucking moron.

I guess you don't know much about the financial evil of Luxembourg

Saying MIM was an error on my part, was half asleep typing that.

Luxembourg glows, and the Macaronis are still heated about Sig's bullshit enough to take it out on another.

It's a tax haven with business friendly laws and courts. It's just the European version of Delaware. It's just the holding company there, literally all of their operations and leadership happens in Italy.

Other way around, they mostly do guns for profit.

That's pretty reassuring.

Keep Beretta Italian, and keep Ruger American. As in an American company, not talking about Ruger's pistols and rifles which they dubbed the Ruger American.

Are you implying that Delaware is not evil?

Ironic
>>
>>64412977
Good, Ruger sucks balls and I wish them a very bloodiful end.
>>
>>64413304
Fuck off. They're a useful part of the American industry. I wouldn't want them to be the only manufacturer around, but the whole ecosystem with keltec, henry, colt, all the little shops, and even hi-point, deserves to exist and compete to serve every American gun owner.

"Bloodiful?" Are you Indian?

SAR YOU BLOODY

>poison
Poison pill defences, often officially called "shareholder rights plans," are things a company does to make it very very expensive (ideally impossible) for another company to do a hostile takeover.

god dammit. i better go buy those 8 round 357 redhawks before the wops discontinue em.

It's unlikely to get that far, but it's hardly gonna hurt you to buy yourself that eightshooter if you can afford it.
