Have you been to the range today? I sighted in my .270 marlin XL7 and my 12 gauge maverick 88.
>sighting in a shotgun
Ya I went out a few weeks ago. Split a twig with my .17 hmr from 60m. Reslly love that thing
>>64414390stfu, tony, I'm trying to get my patterns down for no. 6 shot so I don't get too many pellets in my meat.
>>64414371I haven't been to the range since before COVID. Honestly, fuck what these jokers charge for ammo. If I had my own land I'd shoot more.
>>64414415>I think it's time for you to seriously consider salads
>>64414442I'm going to see if wma ranges are cheaper since I was charged 46 fucking bucks and another 42 for ammo when I ran out for the .270. Other than that, I shoot my shotgun in back yard, but I have to aim down or use my fire pit/ back drop to shoot my shotgun.
>>64414490>46 fucking bucks and another 42 for ammoholy shit
>>64414495Ikr? If I can help it, I'm not going back to that range again.
>>64414499get better at planning>ammo>targets>stands>hearing protection >lead wipes >medical equipment >water >snacks >shovel and some moist paper towels
>>64414371I hope you set up correctly. 130g is just a touch over an inch at 100 yards is dead nuts at 200. The 270 is a Whitetail anchor and shoots flat. Grandad of the magnums.
>>64414390laughs in my italian adjustable ghost ring
>>64414529I'm looking @ wma ranges and I got 1 in mind, all I have to is complete some training online and I should be golden; if I'm correct, it's free. Everything else has been set up, but I still need to test out my stand. >>64414548Everything went well.>The 270 is a Whitetail anchor and shoots flat.My grandpa has said the same thing- he has admired it numerous times compared to his .308.
>>64414371We posting range pics?Guess I'll post mine.
>>64415546
>>64414371>Have you been to the range today?I have. >>64415548C7?
>>64414371My crazy, cokehead, Vietnam Vet uncle put me up alone in a deerstand with a .270 when I was about 12, despite my having literally zero training whatsoever. I sat in the cold and wet for (seemingly) hours until I finally made my way back to the random cabin/house of his cokehead buddy we were staying. On the way down out of the stand, I slung the rifle, barrel up over my shoulder and as I made my way about 1/2 down the ladder, it went off behind my head somehow. I thought I had died, and the sound was truly deafening, but I just went back to the house and never said a word. [in crazy uncle and/or dad's voice: Hrrr-drrr, don't be a pussy, you stupid, long-haired faggot!]I still get cold chills thinking about insanely dangerous, stupid, lucky and scary it all was, but that's just how you raised kids in the 80s, I guess :/
>>64415639>C7?Ya
>>64414371Went to a friend's property and we finally figured out a presentation on a 10in gong at 650 and 880 yards. Got it set up then spent the afternoon shooting it with .308s. Good fun
>>64415546>>64415548>>Transfreaks BTFOMade my day.Thank you, anon.
>>64414371Not today though I did go last week to shoot my M1A for the first time. I will probably shoot again this week.
>>64415684Semi related, did you like the .270? Debating between that and .30-06
>>64414371>Have you been to the range today?no. it's full of people getting ready for hunting season.>.270a man of culture
>>64419695Im so excited for hunting season man. Always so much fun here, even if I don’t get shit because opening day sounds like Baghdad
>>64419677I grew up mostly shooting .30-06 with wooden stocks, but the .270 was some sort of composite and felt lighter and more nimble overall, but it was a long time ago.
>>64419872Ah okay, makes sense. Honestly u can feel my inner fudd talking, I’d love nothing more than a nice wood rifle in .30-06
