yay new used birb gun! 75rds and 2 light primer strikes!
I know what's wrong. It ain't got any gas in it
>>64414644your dubs correct my thoughts of a need for kerosene
>>64414641>StevensHow the fuck is that not a dead company/brand at this point? I know it's probably just an importer who owns the name to use on import shotguns, but damn! Unless it's some Euro or SA "Stevens" company that's totally unrelated.
>>64414795yeah. it's madness. a Savage owned brand. i had to 'know'and this gun was cheap.
>>64414829Wow, that's still a Savage owned brand after all these years? I have an ~80 (?) year old 22LR gill gun that's marked Stevens/Savage/Springfield, lol. One bought the other, then another bought those two. Hasn't been a standalone company for a long long time. There's no S/Ns on most old Stevens guns, just 3/4 digit + letter reference numbers for internal use (kinda like a batch code). You'd be able to tell the date of mfg using a mix of revisions/updates your gun has and that code but during WWII, Stevens had a completely unexpected (wink) and horrifically out of control (wink wink) fire in their recordkeeping building they had on, IIRC, government owned land after the government wasn't happy with their output (IIRC) during the war for some reason. Very inconvenient (for the government) totally unplanned total loss of all records, lol. Still can't date old Stevens guns by S/N to this day because of it.
>>64414641Looks Turkish I looked it up, yep, it's made in Turkey. Dozens of companies over there making the same exact OU design.
>>64414641I hope you figure out what's wrong with itI'd like a double barrel shotgun of my own someday and from my understanding everything is current production is turkshit or $10k handcrafted guns for rich people. what are the good manufacturers for old used double barrel shotguns?
>>64415813>everything is current production*everything in current production
>>64415813It really matters if you want an O/U or a SxS.If you want an O/U there areexcellent ones ones starting at around $2k: Beretta Silver Pigeon or Browning Citori. If you want a SxS things are more complicated, because those are not as popular for shooting clays. You've got various flavors of turkshit on the low end larp market, and you've got really nice guns starting around $4-5k, i.e. something like a Beretta 486 or a CSMC. If you want a solid used SxS that doesn't cost an arm and a leg look for Beretta Silver Hawk, AyA Matador, Browning BSS, or Miroku.
