It's the 1980s, what would your firearm and knife arsenal consist of?
IDK, I was born in the year 1980 of the first quarter of the year so I wouldn't be allowed to own a gun
>>64415229SW M29, Buck 110.
>>64415239>I was born in the year 1980 of the first quarter of the yearThey know who you are, you don't have to obfucate your identity.
>>64415239Jesus Christ. Have some fucking imagination you God damn buzzkill. I swear the fun died here sometime after Covid reared it's ugly head.
>>64415254No dude, it’s sub-80 iq brown people. This thread is literally a variation of the breakfast question and everyone that doesn’t understand a hypothetical is going to give some fucking retarded answer like >>64415239
>>64415229A Model 36 and a Buck 119. It ain't broke, you know the rest.
>>64415229
M70, cocaine, and a KABAR
First thing I'd get would be the rem 7600 .308 rifle. My grandpa owns 1 and I fired it a couple times, and it was great!
Colt SP1(You) just know...
one day, they'll all get on the plane...
>>64415229I am the ultimate henchman
>>64415229The 80's had some hot trash, I'd be hot and ready with my Buckmaster and Tec-9
>>64415326Oh god... the tec-9... how it would be sweet to own 1 of those.
>>64415349I think someone a couple of years ago had one here, if you were an 80's kid they were in movies, tv shows and stuff. Its 'iconic' in that sort of era, sure its rubbish but its kind of cool rubbish like the big donkey cock sized laser sights that would cost t new-car money.
>>64415326I remember hearing that the police would know if a TEC-9 was used in a crime by looking for unfired 9mm rounds on the ground since it jammed that often.
>>64415380Yes you really would have the HK94 from that era if you wanted it to work most of the time
>>64415376I've read a couple times that they're coolest-looking, yet shittiest gun you can own. Going off topic here, but I talked to a gun store manager/owner that disliked pump action .308's and said they have problems. I think my grandpa had a couple times when he had problems, but that was only twice. Other than that, it is a reliable gun and I wish they made more.
>>64415229M16A1 in 5.56x45 NATO, registered as a machine gun.Colt Model 1911A1 in .45 ACPRuger 10/22Browning Auto-5 or Remington Model 11Remington Model 700MAC-10 or MAC-11 depending on what seems funnier.A framed picture of Arnie as Conan the Barbarian. Most importantly, these digits.
>>64415438The Tec-9 was sort of the awkward middle child of the whole line, it was made cheaper, the ATF were stomping on Intratec's business, the media hated them and at the time they were a cheap $300 gun. Before it was the much more dangerous open-bolt MP and KG-9's that were converted into full auto by people quite a lot and after the Tec-9 there was the DC9 and AB-10's which look similar but had a lot of hoops to jump through to make them 'legal' to the extent that Intratec just threw the whole lot into the fuckit bucket as being way too hard to sell guns to people.Like anything, most of the problems tended to be in the magazines being a bit crappy, people not cleaning and lubing them up along with some cheap guns just don't like some kinds of ammo right out of the box. I don't think it was an entirely miserable experience for most owners considering they were so cheap, it was most definitely miserable for the company!
>>64415243I would replace the Model 29 with a Model 10. Really, the Model 10 would be my choice in any year from 1900-2025, but maybe with a 2" barrel if I could be picky.
>>64415229firearm>rifle: Colt green label AR-15 or Bushmaster >pistol: S&W 3913; after Peter Alan Kasler's Glock book comes out, Glock 19>knife: Spyderco Delica

>>64415229It wouldn't be that much different than what I already have. Assuming no NFA, primary would be a Colt SP-1 and secondary would either be a browning hi power or a 1911. I'm not a big knife guy so I guess I'd just stick with an M7 bayonet. If I used the time to get exotic I would probably get an HK93 or one of those FAMAS imports. I'd basically go out of my way to own every cool foreign rifle that got banned from import.
>>64415229Same as today, only blued and not stainless.
>>64415576The NFA was 1934.I think you meant the FOPA signed by Reagan that included, illegally, the Hughes Amendment that closed the MG registry in 1986.
>>64415229Even glancing at an M14K is enough to get you convicted for coke-trafficking.
>>64415600It was the first gun designed specifically for use during dramatic speed boat chases.
>>64415591No I meant NFA items in general. As in, I wouldn't be buying up M16s and other stuff before the 1986 cutoff to take advantage of the artificial scarcity.
80's SPAS12 at home:
Not all encompassing but something like this.
>>64415438You mean the Remington 760/7600? Those had notorious reliability issues, mostly surrounding the magazines. Remington cheaped out and built a "universal" magazine for multiple calibers, damn things apparently never fed right in a significant number of guns. Also, the earlier 760 had some bolt lug issues IIRC.
>>64415229OldGenXFagHereI can tell you what it wasKnife- Old Timer 3 blade 80 T (gift from my Dad), Buck 110 (gift from my brother)Gun- Ruger 1022 carbine (gift from my Dad), Remington 870 Wingmaster (I bought from a K-mart for $109 that was closing), Hawken muzzleloader (earned from working for a local machine shop owner) Ruger Single 6 (traded car parts for).
>>64415380they also inevitably will crack the polymer frame if you shoot them enoughsuch a shame, they're cool guns
>>64415239>What do you mean, I had breakfast today.
>>64415833That's what fucks over most american companies (and turkish/turkshit) companies today. If they don't cheap out, they usually overprice.
>>64415591Ha ha fupa
>>64415229I'll buy the pistol that notorious to 1911fags.
>>64415229Something relatively basic with a FUCKHEUGE laser sight on it.
>>64415718This plus a 1911 or high power is pretty much it
I would have my Ruger Speed Six 357 Magnum. I still occasionally carry it. However, those days were before concealed carry was legal. So guys would carry small 25 autos. I carried a FIE Titan 25 Auto in a small clip-on holster with a military style belt around my upper waist. I accessed it it through a partially buttoned shirt.
>>64419338i love seeing grip adapters on old wheel guns
Back then I also had the junky Marlin glenfield model 60 in 22, the excellent Remington Nylon 66, a 6.5 Carcano carbine, and the jam o matic AR7, My dad had a Colt Commander in 9 mm, a Rossi snub nose 32 Smith & Wesson long that had the firing pin brake, a jam o matic Raven 25 Auto, a Smith & Wesson model 36 38 special, a h&r single barrel, 12 gauge shotgun, and a universal brand m1 carbine knock off.
