I initially posted something earlier about another optic and apparently I was incorrect. Does anyone have any good recommendations for a optic similar to this for under 300?
>>64415447Get a Salty Aimpoint Comp M2/M68/ACO or whatever vortex knockoff there is.
>>64415451This is the only thing they had around my price range. Is this one any good? (if you happen to know)
>>64415458Yeah its good. It'll do everything you need it for, it just doesn't have a night vision setting, but that shouldn't matter too much.
I also was looking at this one. What's the difference for the price increase? (about 150 more).
>>64415536You really cant go wrong with the ACO, Vortex strikefire, or the primary arms clone. They pretty much all do the same thing. I recommended Aimpoint since they perfected the red dot first, and most competing designs are based on theirs.
>>64415565Primary arms clone?
>>64415572Its just another entry level optic company.
>>64415572I used to work at primary arms. The sight he's talking about was discontinued, but is still manufactured in china. If curious search "comp m2" on aliexpress. Its around $50 and it's the same sight primary arms sold but with aimpoint markings.
>>64415702huh no kidding, neat
What is the appeal of the tube-style red dot?
>>64415931nowadays? vibes mostly.
>>64415536Prism optics usually have weird eye box issues. The only time I’ve ever really used a 1x prism was on my elcan when they were still issued and it was ok at best. I think the extra $$ for something without a drawback like that would be your best bet man
>>64416781Good to know! I didn't realize when I first posted the Aimpoint but I would prefer something with magnification (2x or 3x). Do you have any recommendations for non prims ones like that?
>>64415447That exact Leupold (which is made in the USA btw) will go on sale for $200-$250 on Black Friday, if you can wait a few weeks
