I have a small autism for Ranger Body Armor. It's both aesthetically pleasing and an interesting intermediate technological step from "soft" Kevlar and flak vests to IBAs and the modern plate carriers of today.

Post RBAs, be they sets you own or just have pictures of.

Starting with some pics of RBAs used by the 101st Airborne Division when it deployed to Kosovo from 2000 to 2001

Built in grenade launcher sight is the important bit. It also covers what would be a slightly awkward gap and more securely mounts than just a top clamshell, which isn't critical but you may as well.
Using just an upper clamshell with a M203 is perfectly viable.

Don't take it as critique, but the guy on pic has the belt closed, with a belt extender snapped in - which by itself is an extremely 1990s bit of kit. Mostly made by Brigade Quartermasters and sold in PX, it was supposed to switch the LBE between "body armor worn/not worn" mode without having to adjust the belt length (which is PITA esp. with pouches attached).

Well, the optic alone weighs about 5 lbs, the suppressor is almost 3, (It's a titanium .30 cal can that I only really use on my bolt action. 308) and the rifle fully loaded is about 6 or 7. That's nearly 15 lbs. I don't actually run it like this, I just did this for the picture. I really don't have anything to put that scope on anymore since I sold my AR10.

Nah, they just should have kept black berets for Rangers (who adopted them from the ARVN) and Armor + Armored Cav (who started wearing them in Germany before the Rangers even realized they wanted more stylish hats). Rest of the Army should have gotten OD or light brown berets and that's possibly the only thing Mike Sparks has ever been correct on.

The backpack he's wearing is the old MOPP suit bag - it was designed to hold all items besides your P-mask and wasnt so much of a backpack as an add on pouch to a ruck or pistol belt as the "shoulder straps" were more like compression straps and it had ALICE clips for attachment.
Found one here on Ebay -

You would never hold it by the barrel eslmacaco. But holding it by the magazine well would make sense if you shot a lot of rounds and the handguard is very hot. Also some people like that grip when shooting prone and using the magazine as a monopod.
