I guess you could do it, but the recoil spring would need to be really fucking stiff and you would barely be able to rack it normally because the slide is so small, but because of the tip up barrel that is actually a non-issue. The real problem is having a slide with enough rearward travel to actually strip that larger round from the magazine.
