How do we feel about the Benelli super nova? Fuds fuck off give me a real answer.
>>64427033They're pretty good, they can use 3 1/2 shells so the pump length is longer than most other shotguns. Nice recoil impulse too, especially if you get the one with the little chevron thingies
>>64427033Genuinely one of the very best pump-guns out there. They feel like cheap and plastic garbage to hold, but they'll keep running in conditions where Mossy 500s and remmy 870s shit themselves and die.
Even the well worn high quality ones are still pretty janky. You don't get any impulse mitigation from cyclic mass so they're as uncomfortable to shoot as break actions. The only one worth owning is the K-1200 Riot. If you don't own one you're not a real man or a real gun guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-aFqq8aAWA
>>64427066Obviously I'm referring to pumps in general because I misread OP's thread due to being blinded by the ugly plastic paperweight he posted.
>>64427066This drunk retarded anon as neither seen nor handled a Benelli, and is actively trying to sell you a Turkish made shotgun with plastic feed ramps, Benelli is great, it’ll eat whatever you throw at it and has crazy good recoil mitigation for the light weight it has. A guy found one at the bottom of a lake and got it running with a garden hose and some gun oil.
>>64427033How are one handed reloads with those?
>>64427131Unlike most pumps, the loading gate stays locked down until you’re finished loading. The pump release is also on the right side, so extend your trigger finger and unlock the action instead of reaching over to press it.
>>64427033Quite good. They have relatively smooth actions and good quality parts. I haven't heard of any problems, the extended forend is a nice feature as is the 3.5" chamber. You probably won't actually shoot 3.5" shells because of their cost, recoil and most of them are loaded for bird hunting. Then again >12ga 3.5" 18 pellet 00 buckshot at 1550fpsThat's a lot of energy being sent down the barrel with one trigger pull.
>>64427173is that a typo? how do you get 18 00 buck pellets to 1550 fps within the pressure limits of 12 gauge? I thought 9 pellet was 1350 fps
>>644272753.5" shells have a higher pressure standard.
nobody shoots anything 3.5 thats not turkey shot.people dont spend 3 dollars a shell to shoot 3.5 00.3.5 is i could do this and sounds great on paper but nobody ever buys the stuff. most people wont even spring for 3 over 2 3/4.
>>64427340You sound like a fag, me and my friends shoot 3.5 mag out of a supermag 870 and Supernova just for fun and watching jugs of sugar water explode.
>>64427307true but that's not enough to propel double the pellets 150 fps fasterI think that the load he was talking about is steel shot, not lead shot
>>64427066Fud, you were told specifically to fuck off. Grab your trusty 1911 and blow your brains out with it.
>>64427275Double checked and the load I was thinking about is only rated at 1100 FPS.
>>64427404Regular 2.75" shells have no problem pushing 9 pellets to 1600 and staying within pressure spec. It's entirely possible for that load to be within spec for 3.5"Most shotgun cartridges are nowhere near max pressure. Keeps them safe in older guns and doesn't beat the shit out of the user.
>>64427033I'd get one if the forend wasn't so fucking ugly. Why couldn't they just put the M3 forend on it?
>>64427033>How do we feel about the Benelli super nova?Sold mine. It was bulky and awkward to cycle. I managed to lock mine up a few times just by cycling it dry or with dummy shells. Long LOP that can't be adjusted down. The barrel is chromed, which is nice, but no interchangeable chokes. the plastic rear sight is meh, and options for aftermarket are limited. The mesa tactical stock for it is crap also. I don't get why it is being glazed here.
>>64427062you'd better stop bitching about plastic you fucking homophile, it's the 21st century you moronic nigger.
>>64427756It has adjustable chokes, and an adjustable stock with spacers, your model didn’t, you’re telling me you ordered the wrong model, and didn’t like it? Whoa man!!! Shouldn’t have been a tactical timmy and used the gun for sporting purposes like it was made for.
>>64427774>you’re telling me you ordered the wrong modelNo, nigger. Benelli just cheaped out on features. The m4 has interchangeable chokes, and so do models of the Nova 3 tactical. >It has adjustable chokes, and an adjustable stock with spacers, your model didn’t, See >>64427033>Fuds fuck offYou mean I can enjoy the privilege of spending $80 on a $5 piece of rubber at the Benelli store so I can go from a 14-3/8" LOP all the way down to a 14-1/4" LOP? Dumb fucking nigger.
>>64427837OP here. Im asking because im looking into getting a shotgun. I don't know much about guns so i appreciate the dissenting opinion. could you explain what you're talking about more specifically? Id like to make a good choice for a first shotgun to have around the house and just for general shooting when i go out with the boys.
>>64427963go hold one in a store rack it a couple times if they let you. if it feels like it fits you buy it. if anything feels like you have to contort yourself or its too long to rack buy something else.if it fits you its a good choice. if it doesnt go buy a 500/870 cause you arent modding a nova into something comfortable.
>>64427963>could you explain what you're talking about more specifically? The SuperNova receiver is wide/fat because of the plastic over-molded design. You can't really use the adhesive backed velcro shell loops on the receiver like you can with an 870, mossberg, or any flat metal receiver. The aftermarket Mesa sideshell holder makes it even fuck huge wider. It is also kinda heavy for what it is. I had the sporter shock absorbing stock, and it worked OK, but you cannot adjust the length of pull muck lower than about 14", when about 12.5-13" is good for a tactical shotgun. I don't know why, but mine was able to lock the action and trigger up to where it didn't work and needed to be disassembled/reassembled to get working again. Might have been from slight short stroking and pulling the trigger, but it was fucky-wucky janky. It is no where near recent production, as I had it about ten years ago. The SuperNova is probably fine as an all weather magnum sporter shotgun, but not great as a Tac gun. For a house gun, I like my M37, as it is a short, fast 2.75" only cycle. The long 3.5" magnum stroke cycle is not cool IMO. >>64428168>go hold one in a store rack it a couple times if they let you^what he said. You'll see if you like it or not.
>>64427704yeah but even still there's no way that you're pushing double the pellets to 1550fps. the pressure difference isn't high enough for that. thanks for letting me know about 1600fps 2 3/4" 00 buck though, I had no idea that existed
>>64428275>>64428168I went to the store today and checked one out. The supernova was fine for me in terms of the pump action length. I didnt feel any issues asnd liked the gun but i did really appreciate the simplicity of the mossbergs. There were some features of the benelli that i thought were neat like the locking trap door for the feed tube and the pistol grip. I especially like the sights on the benelli more than the mossbergs steel bead style but the 590 had a fantastic ghost ring. are there after market options for a pistol grip on the 590 that are worth a damn? I didnt find the benelli uncomfortable and will probably go with it if there doesnt seem to be a better option that comes with the bells and whistles that i liked.
>>64429180>are there after market options for a pistol grip on the 590 that are worth a damn? You can get a bunch of pistol grips on a mossberg but the safety location makes it awkward. You have to use your left hand or remover your right from the pistolgrip. Not a big deal but something to consider.
>>64428695The load of 18 pellets at 1150 fps is still within the pressure spec for 2.75" shells. Some of the powders even keep it under 10kpsi. Plenty of room to still bump it faster.
>>64429186>18 pellet 2 3/4" 00 buckgod damn, is that really a thing? or are you referring to the fact that 3" shells have the same pressure spec as a 2 3/4"? pic is a 15 pellet 00 buck 2 3/4" and it's packed to the brim.either way, the fastest 3.5" 18 pellet 00 buck shell I can find is 1200fps. perhaps it could be faster than that but 350 fps faster seems unbelievable. I can't really say for sure because the pressure spec for that load isn't published but it just intuitively seems impossible. for clarification I'm talking lead shot.
>>64427768Not him but they genuinely feel like a pump action pellet gun. It's not that it is plastic, it's the grade of plastic and the spring. It was what turned me off of it when I finally got to hold and manipulate one. It just does not feel like a shotgun to me.
>>64427033plastic junk, yes im a fudd
>>64429629It’s better than Remington and Mossberg though. Nothing but jam using sporting ammo in those, in the Benelli? It’s spitting out pieces of hull and just keeps cycling. I like the fiber optic sights too, usually you see them on much more expensive guns.
>>64429640i dont like the long tapered forend
>>64429641Short arms? It’s not any further out than any other pump gun? And even then it’s spring assisted, if the gun is clean, the action will open itself when the action lock is toggled.
The real question is how do we feel about the Benelli MR1?
>>64429793Looks ridiculous.I want one.
>>64427768You’re annoying and retarded in every thread
>>64427963I got my son one last xmas for duck hunting...the stanmodel...26" barrel if i recall correctly....we had it out to the range skeet shooting several times...its been a great gun so for for us...fun to shoot
>>64429793ergos are jank but its a better choice than a mini 14 if you wanted to stay away from ar for whatever reason
>>64429194The 18 pellet 3.5" loads are still within the pressure spec for 2.75" shells. Roughly 11kpsi. Using different powders and wads the pressure can be as low as 9kpsi.The limiting factor is the shooter. 2+ ounces is rough to start with, hot-rodding it is just punishing.
