2.0* but yes
all the companies who copied the glock frame/fcu are probably shaking right now
>>64428809they'll be rolling in dosh
>>64428787It's a shame Glock mogs the Shield so bad in the aesthetics department, otherwise it would just be the best at everything.
This gun shape is so soulless and uninspired
>>64428787It's pretty great.
I added a Hogue grip on mine the other dayIm gay
>>64429009>can't be carried safely with one in the chamberlol
>>64428886nothing beats the glock 43the competition is either ugly like the gun in the OP or in the case of the P365 is made by nig nauer and therefore untouchable
>>64428787you're goddamn right sonny>>64428886>cares about effay>not carrying a 32 j frame which has the same capacity and looks better
The 1911 had the last laugh
>>64428900Well it'll make your body soulless too all the same

>>64428886I have both the 43 and the Shield Plus, the only subcompacts I own, and I prefer the 43 as a carry gun.43 pros>smaller, lighter, and less abrasive grip less likely to tear up shirts. It’s substantially more comfortable to carry.>more natural point of aim (I’m used to Glocks)43 cons>capacity, although I use the mag guts 8 rounders that have never malfunctionedShield Plus pros>capacity>slightly more accurate>slightly more easy to control, faster follow up shotsShield Plus cons>occasionally I miss the reset when shooting fast. Could train more to prevent this>because of the trigger safety design (the dingus starting fairly low on the trigger face) it’s possible to pull the trigger with your finger as high up as possible and not engage the safety, meaning the trigger won’t move. This never happens in controlled settings like the range but could see it happening in a high stress situation where you don’t have time for a good grip/trigger pull.>trigger safety pin walks out every 200 rounds or so and needs to be pushed back in>some mags won’t activate the slide stop when empty>bigger, heavier, and less comfortable than the 43
>>64428900The fuck is going on here?
>>64428900What did even he do? Dudes just chilling and the pignigs go nuts.
>>64428900Damn I hate cops
>>64429826I haven't tried a subcompact Glock but one of the things I like about the Shield compared to my full-size Glocks is how stiff the recoil spring, slide stop lever, and safety are. During timed drills in classes with mild amounts of stress, it's way easier to inadvertently touch the slide or slide lock and create a malfunction on a Glock, whereas with the Shield it seems virtually impossible because of how stiff the controls are. And in a real shooting I think this issue would be amplified dramatically.

>>64428787.30 super carry mustard race :>)Jk tho but the shield plus is kino
Am I crazy for wanting to get one as my first gun? I know everyone says get a compact but I got small hands and why not learn on the gun you're going to carry?
>>64430943No its very good, any of the big time micro 9s are perfectly fine though
>>64428787>>64429656Get both=win twice
>>64431240I've handled the CSX-e at the range and really liked it. Will be getting one soon
>>64430943I carry a 9mm shield proformance center m2.0 80% of the time EDC. I know it will get some hate because of the ported barrel jacket separation. I run critical duty and hydra shock through it and never had a problem. Tyrant cnc makes an extended baseplate for it that worked perfect (I forgot how many rounds it adds) but I really like that the gun is completely stock in case I ever need to use it. Absolutely nothing is aftermarket unlike my glock 19 which is way bigger and has aftermarket parts. I recommend it to all my friends as a edc.
>>64428809The opposite, Anon.
>>64428787this is the worst grip on any handgun I've ever owned. sold it within a year for a CZ

>>64428787>Posts the most bloated of the stack and a half micro 9sI'm a S&W appreciator, I feel like this is the biggest swing and a miss they've had lately. All of their other newer products stand on their own merits compared to the competition except for it. Only reason to get it is the name on the side.
>>64431414Only difference is one has a badge, the other doesn't.

>>64432386>shield x
>>64433464Depending on the state you're from k9s by law cannot be used on a surrendering non violent non resisting person.
>>64428787I absolutely hate the way the shield feels and shoots. Are the standard compact M&Ps more comfy?
Hold it right there, buck-o
I’m absolutely livid about Glock killing itself like this. They truly don’t understand what the appeal of their product is. I wouldn’t even get a 43x because it isn’t the same system that’s been in use for 40+ years. Absolutely fucking unreal. My Gen 4 g19 felt like soemthing I could toss into a wood chipper and get a replacement immediately. Now it’s some bullshit “I know what I got” crap now. May as well get a staccato.
>>64433599>I’m absolutely livid about Glock killing itself like this. They truly don’t understand what the appeal of their product is.Old CEO is gone. New CEO wants to dosomethingnew/opennewmarkets/shakethingsup thereby neglecting the core mission that enabled their previous success. Story as old as time.
>>64428809They're celebrating you moron
>>64428787Smith moved their production to TN, so I feel like I have to support them as a Tennessean just like I did with Beretta. As soon as I come across a made in TN M&P 45 I'm buying it.
>>64433621It’s really insane how a company that dominates their market, particularly when their number 1 rival just killed itself, would self inflict a wound like this. Be like steam , do nothing and win

>>64433470Keep debating looking into one, how is it?
>>64428886Glocks do look cool, but the ergonomics of the Shield are infinitely better.>>64429826I've got a Plus as well. The trigger safety thing gets better after a shitload of pulls, I just sat there and did it while watching videos etc. I found that it helps to find the point where it'll just barely break with a bunch of pressure and pull it there over and over again since you're basically trying to wear the manufacturing burrs/flash off that corner of the safety where it meets the frame. Some people have skipped that and just filed it down but that scares me, and I've gotten mine to the point where I'm much more comfortable carrying it, I have to intentionally position my finger too high to make it engage now. The other option is just to get an aftermarket trigger and eliminate it completely. I'm considering getting a Shield X to replace my G19, I'd managed to get comfortable with the Glock's brick ergonomics until I got the Shield Plus and now I'm back to feeling totally awkward with it. The X seems like an ideal replacement, the slim grip of the Shield but with G19 barrel and grip length and 15rds, along with a rail, optics mount, etc. Only real downside is the expensive mags, wish Magpul or somebody could make $12 plastic mags like Glock gets but idk if it's doable without losing capacity on the Shield.
>>64428900is the one with a cap a female?
>>64434448>Glocks do look cool, but the ergonomics of the Shield are infinitely better.Well I don't need convincing, I was implying as much in my post. It's because of Glock's dogmatic refusal to use a stamped magazine. Their ergos will literally never evolve from where they are, until they make their magazines slim enough to create space for a convex grip section.
>>64429826>trigger safety pin walks out every 200 rounds or so and needs to be pushed back in>some mags won’t activate the slide stop when emptyThat sounds like a personal problem with yours.
>>64428787I got a M&P 40 1.0 full size changed out to 357 Sig. 15 rnd mag + 1
>>64436323Do you have a picture of any of those by any chance? I'm interested to know what your setup looks like. Kinda like this guy here:>>64433470
For me it's the CC9
>>64434239It is as advertised IMO. It's a more ergonomic compact. Even with the 13-round mag, it doesn't feel too small to be practical.
>>64428787S&w striker fired pistols like the shield, m&p 2.0, bodyguard ect. are some of the ugliest, most aesthetically displeasing fucking pistols ive ever seen. Theyre weirdly shaped, the slide cuts are ugly as fuck. Compared to a glock theyre just disgusting. And yet theyre some of the most ergonomic and pleasant guns ive ever shot. Theyre comfortable, great stock triggers. I own a full size m&p 2.0 and love it. Probably buying either a shield x or a bodyguard soon, ill buy both eventually just cant afford both at once or i would
>>64436823Now make it in 45, give it a 4" barrel, and let it use the same magazines from the HK45 and USP 45 Compact so I can buy one.
>>64431414Then why did you post one?
