>The DOME by the US Company OAST is designed to protect facilities from UAVsIt looks to be effective
>>64430083its a fucking mosquito net why does there need to be 7 contractors for this
>>64430083That doesn't look any different from the netting they put up around golf courses to stop balls from leaving and causing damage. May as well just use that stuff. It has to be cheaper.
>>64430083>Turns your frag into an airburst fragUh thanks I guess?
I can also drunkenly put up chicken wire, where's my MIC check?
>>64430083If the net is to get the UAV to explode prematurely, shouldn't it be way bigger? That is still nuking whatever is inside the net after it explodes.
>>64430092one to mark out where everything is going to be put, one for the netting, one for the poles, one for the hesco barriers, one to put sand into the barriers, one to be the safety monitor, one to supervise everything and run the camera
Why don't they make specialized tension structures that can be released to "whip" the nets outwards and into the ground as the drones approach? Kinda like a mousetrap, slapping the damn things out of the air.
>>64430083>tfw no dome
>>64430083>Sir, a second UAV has hit the dome.
>>64431858because now you have to maintain that to make sure it doesn't thwap down on your own people on accident
>>64431419It's a demonstrator, bro.
>>64431931Right that's exactly what will end up happening. First drone punches the net.Drones 2 through 10 enter through the hole and absolutely wreck your shit while you struggle to get out of your DOME through all the torn and dangling netting now draped on everything and everyone.
>>64433001as we've seen happen hundreds of times in UkraineEven in the op vid every drone peppers the inside with shrapnel and the geran simulator rekts it. I guess if you have a hesco reenforced covered bunker under the net you'll escape with just TBI or it might mitigate a single hit. Seen too many drones pick their way through tiny openings to believe this is a solution.
>>64431841I need to become a defense contractor.
>>64430092If it's 2 guys with a trailor the most you can charge is ~$1k for a net like that but get an army of political donors together and next thing you know that net is now a $20k drone defence network.
