I'm trying to find some documents by the designers / researchers / artists behind effective camouflage, or even an article from someone knowledgeable breaking it down.Something that discusses the shape placement and color contrast in depth. Also post your favorite unique camos, effective or not
>>64433940>Im tryingBut did you try?
pebble design fresh as fuck
>>64434161These are all nice history lessons and catalogues of camouflage, but barely discuss the patterns and design philosophy from an artistic standpoint.Though one did talk about how U.S Gulf War soliders thought choco chip was gay and they discontinued it because it hurt morale.
>>64434941>U.S Gulf War soliders thought choco chip was gay and they discontinued it because it hurt moraleFunny how choccy chip is considered one of the coolest US camo patterns.
>>64434941its gay to wear the color of the environment youre attacking. you should wear forest or snow camo when invading a desert, or that based retard blue navy camo
>>64434941That same book also mentioned that SS-developed camo was used in conflicts against Israel lol.Not sure if it was really intentional but that would be a great insult>>64434956Yeah I like choccy chip too
>>64435214Can I wear ninja black during the daytime? I mean, vampire black.>t. Daywalker
Infrared reflectant dyes were used in BDUs as far back as the 70s. High tech stuff
you wouldn't handle the drip
>>64435471Wasn't that the purpose of the red in Alpenflage or is that just fuddlore?
>>64435573No clue, but what I can gather infrared reflectant dyes can come in any color. Perhaps just the red dye in Alpenflage had that property?>>64435536try this experimental urban camo on for size
>>64435573Vierfruchtpyama is a way cooler name for Alpenflage than Alpenflage btw
>>64434941They stopped using it because it sucked ass in Iraq. Six-color desert (aka chocolate chip) was designed for American deserts, not the Middle East.
>>64436218>it sucked assYet we won. Chocolate chip on Mars!
>>64435573>let's make this German WW2 camo pattern exclusively applicable to the Swiss Alps>let's not have two seasonal uniforms but make one which will sort-of work all year round>fuck there's a lot of red leaves in autumn in this country full of forests, guess we'd better throw some red into the camo pattern then>good thing we're neutral and we'll never use this>kinda like the retarded proprietary calibres we use in all our small arms instead of using 7.62 NATO
I really like raindrop for its simplicity
>>64437467Plus it has the added bonus of not obviously being a camouflage pattern so you don't look like a complete autist if you wear it in public.
>>64433940Camo is useless, like pistols, in modern warfare. You are hot and show up on every IR sensor mounted on every $100 drone.WAR HAS MOVED ON.
>>64437474>thermal drones>$100
>>64433940
>>64437467but it just looks green at 10 yards away
>>64437857Not far from the truth. The sensors they use are sub $100. Yeah
>>64437887So what
>>64438799than it might as well just be green
>>64437887it actually still adds a sort of texture & depthis it a good amount? fuck no. yet its still works so
>>64433940Say no more. The first systematic study on the physiological effects of color
Love DPM. Its actually a bit to dark for use in Britain, it was crestes for use in thick Europeon forest
>>64440591Doesn't seem to be as dark as M81 so you don't cook in the sun which is nice. Thinner material than any of the US surplus clothes so you don't die in the heat wearing thick fabric often doubled or tripled up (knees and elbows especially) which is nice. I think it works really good in PA but that could just be my bias for liking it for being as close to improved woodland as I'll ever get (and it being hard to find in person/hard to find online for reasonable prices) lol.
>>64433940My dad wore that shit in desert storm. Always talked shit about it because there is no black in that type of desert.
