They can do BDA for themselves or the others in their group. They're also networked through data-links with the rest of their group (if you launch 8 Stormbreakers, all of them will be networked together) acting as a swarm. SDB replaces the nonexistent Mk81 GBU as a munition to hit single vehicles or group of personnel, the alternative is to have Mk82 based PGMs that take up an entire pylon where you could pack 4 SDBs. The only weapon it truly replaces is the Maverick
