Under the sight will be a little key you can pull as well. You can grab a whole sight assembly off fulton or ebay for fairly cheap and its pretty tard proof. if the front sight is wiggling its likely the key peened out and you can simply punch pin and tap the sight off with a hammer.

Ukraine has been a nice trove of this, even outside trench warfare plenty of door to door combat footage as well. In some of this contexts, in particular situations, the force multiplier of auto had value. I agree in most situations semiauto fine. But auto on carbines has always been a contingency-use case and why it continues to exist on modern infantry rifles.The ability to break contact or power through a corner as a pointman and some other quick clearing where a grenade either wasn't an option or suboptimal for another reason. (One particular one iirc there was an injured guy they were trying to get out in one part of the room, and a holed guy in another part.) The bodycam guy autoed the holed in guy through the window with a quick burst that disabled him and the other guys went through the room to fully kill him. Just another tool in the toolkit, right?
