As hilarious as it is, most the strikes degrade production, not outright eliminate it

>>64439953>Russia’s Defense Ministry earlier said it shot down 14 Ukrainian drones over Ryazan Oblast overnight. Regional Governor Pavel Malkov said debris from downed drones caused a fire at an industrial site without specifying the facility.
Largest refinery? Bah, it was old and decrepit. The holhols have really done Russia a favor. Now a newer much better one can be built.
>>64439958depends on what's damaged, what's salvageable, if you need western equipment, ect. so the question is best answered by looking at how many/to what level the current refineries have been repaired to. some still produce some early refinement products, but storage of the excess that you could further refine has been noted.
>>64439958Russia doesn't have the knowhow to build refineries. All these refineries were being built and maintained by western oil companies
>>64439970schizo
We didn’t need it + it was a hohol refinery + puccia has 10000000 more + it was full of hohol pows + it was a Donbabwe orphanage + war crime + puccia will take hyperfortress nowhereovisk (prewar population: 10 people and 3 cows) in two weeks + in America they are lynching negroes + NOOOOOOK + you are nazi Jew tranny
>>64439995They can build them, but they're inefficient and still expensive things. A lot of the reasons why Western refineries are so much better is the management, sensors and programming that goes into them, along with the build quality being highly optimized engineering so you get the most out of every barrel you throw through them
>>64439958It depends on what got hit. The tank farm reduces storage capacity and while having one start to go up is very bad, it doesn't cripple operations. An AVT is 8-12 months most likely, depending on just how fucked it is, how complex the distillation column is, and if it's just operating at an atmosphere or two, but completely shuts down processing. A crack unit is until a new one can be made, shipped, and installed, which is potentially years. You can still process crude through the AVT and get some output (as long as you reroute the pipes), just not as much of the specific products as if you had a cracker. If you knock out the boiler you also completely shut the thing down but it's a boiler, they're not terribly hard to replace and can generally be built on site. Knocking out a desalter again will shut down everything, don't know the lead time on one of those. Keep in mind that aside from the boiler this equipment is extremely complicated, specialized, and requires very skilled people to build and install and they can only be in one place at a time.If there's any petrochemical engineers that want to point out where I'm wrong please do so, I'm basing this on things I learned from my grandfather (who was one) years ago and a casual interest in refinery operations.

>>64439978Also how often can the ukies manage follow up strikes
>>64440232unclear, we know there's been repeats, but not every strike is documented, and they seem adverse to re-targeting the same site too often, probably suspecting that AD will improve at previously hit locations(not sure how correct that instinct is, but if US intel aid continues we may see more repeat strikes when russia doesn't move AD to hit sites)
On one hand I think it is great that Ukraine is helping Russia's wildfire season. On the other Total Refinery Death drops new updates so often that we no longer have threads about them. People have given up on the Refinery Bingo Card :(
>>64439963degrading is fine, slowly breaking bits of refineries will eventually lead to major shut downs.
>>64439953didnt russia just loose one of their major weapons reprocessing plants in Chelyabinsk too? Loosing all this infrastructure has to start crippling things down stream.

>>64439958When Saudi Arabian refineries got attacked by Houthi drones it took 48 hours to be back online, and 3 weeks to reach full production again. But it all depends what unit is touched. Refineries have many different types of units, along the process, but also multiple parallel units of the same type (such that you can perform maintenance without stopping production). That's why refineries are typically back online fairly quickly (a day or two, to make sure there is no risk going back online) and back to full production in a few weeks (to replace the destroyed unit).

Russia's coal industry is imploding. 13% of coal corporations (roughly one in eight) have shut down and 53% are at risk: https://www.forbes.com/sites/we-dont-have-time/2025/10/19/russias-coal-collapse-marks-the-end-of-fossil-fuels-post-war-illusion/ How do we know that things are bad? Even their own propaganda people are saying it: https://tass.com/economy/2035097 Coal supplies 16% of Russia's energy needs. They'll be warm until stocks last, but what happens when there's no one to transport, distribute and dig and load the coal? Monke is trying to solve this by subsidizing coal: https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-economy-putin-coal-gas-shortage-crisis-ukraine-drone-strikes-2025-9 But subsidies can't save the industry as virtually everyone's producing at a loss. Monke's bailout was only 1/3rd of the projected 2025 loss of the sector anyway (2.2bil USD vs 6.8bil loss). In other hilarious but week-old news, Russians deliberate on petrol price caps, rationing programs and about 1 in 7 gas stations have suspended sales: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/russia-mulls-price-caps-at-gas-stations-expert-warns-of-mass-out-of-stock-signs/ar-AA1OqQKh Strikes like the ones in OP don't help at all. I find something incredibly poetic in the fact that that a criminal petrostate that only got to its position as a world power only because it squatted on major energy resources, is now embroiled in a terrible energy crisis.

>>64443036Doesn't work. These things are made on order only and require personnel from the maker to be involved in planning before construction of the unit even starts. In other words, you'll need people from Honeywell or Linde to actually visit your refinery first so they'll be able to figure out how to specifically customise the unit to your specifics.
>>64440508>or not eating pork because it'll give you nasty parasites. The pork taboo isn't about cleanliness. It dates to the period of the destruction of Israel by Assyria. What happened was the Israel stopped paying tribute to Assyria, because Assyria was tied up in wars to the east. But they weren't so tied up that they couldn't smash the Kingdom of Israel's shit. The kingdom of Judea had stopped paying tribute too, but they managed to scrape up enough gold to avoid the fate of Israel while the Assyrians were busy wrecking the kingdom of Israel's shit, but as punishment for the disloyalty, Assyria increased the amount of tribute they demanded from Judea. The pork taboo was a way for the nobles of Judea to increase revenue from beef and mutton (which both require pasturage that was controlled by the nobility), because pork was largely raised in urban pens at the time, and the loss of pork in the diet of the urbanites of Judea had to be made up for.
>>64443010Does spraying fire on the countertops even work? I remember in university microbiology that we needed to stick the wire loops into the Bunsen burner until the thing glowed to make sure the bacteria on it was dead. I don’t think a quick burst of flame is enough to sterilize.

>>64443807Rolf was my favorite, so many of his bits cracked me up.
>>64443807>"Mental illness" maybe wasn't the most accurate term, but the point is, it's fucking weird. It's like the shit you'd see Rolf doing in Ed Edd n Eddy to indicate that he's from an unserious country.I can't find the concise screencap but Jews (the Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox in particular, though as you might expect there are plenty of those that disagree) have an interesting tradition where they fulfill the spirit and letter of a given law separately. A good example is the Eruv; legally, according to the fine text as elucidated by the finest Jewish legal minds over millennia, if you enclose an area in a certain way, the inside counts as a "private domain" and as such an observant Jew would be covered in the strictest legal sense of the law if they want to do things on sabbath that would otherwise be forbidden. Because of this same tradition of hair-splitting, "things you're not allowed to do on the sabbath" can and does include things like "carrying loose medicines", "typical weekday activities" and "opening an umbrella", and "moving a tool". On the other hand, this is blantant legalistic bullshit on its face and there's no way that YHWH is going to tolerate being mocked so observant Jews also follow the spirit of the law by also not doing anything blatant. Dispensing an aspirin for your ailing mother and opening an umbrella so you can go for a (short) walk in the rain is probably minor enough and benevolent enough that YHWH will let it slide inside of the Eruv but working construction is so far beyond the pale that YHWH will look at your excuse and say "nice try, you arrogant little shit".Shit's fascinating. Small wonder so many of them take up the law; they've been trained for it since infancy.>>64443827DO YOU LIVE IN A CAVE?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TJNecIpDUA
>>64443046>The pork taboo was a way for the nobles of Judea to increase revenue from beef and muttonWe are never going to escape taxes.
>>64443046This is just wrong. I'm an archeology autist and the most likely explanation is it has to do with the eating habits of the Philistines circa 1000 bc. Because after their invasion we see a decline in pig bones in Canaanite trash pits while the philistines had a high concentration of pig bones even when compared to the previous Canaanite norm. This trend spans an areas far larger than what the Hebrews would have controlled at that time, and likely represents a widespread ethnic emnity with the (as I understand) largely Mycenaean Greek sea people invaders. Assyrians only really started appearing in the region a couple centuries after we see the pattern change
>>64443883On some level I like the idea that you can only discuss scripture if you're reading it in the original language, but once you are you're free to rules lawyer it. I think the justification is basically 'this is the divinely inspired word, so anything you can squeeze out was clearly meant to be there because otherwise you're implying the divine word is faulty'. I also agree that if someone's going to be an ass and define you into a hole with some of this stuff you have the right to be an ass and work your way back out of it with the same logic. Some of the Sabbath-compliance stuff is nuts, like light switches that only check the physical position of the switch at random and could theoretically never do so, so you're not 'doing work'. Because first someone defined lighting candles as work, and then someone else defined light switches as analagous to lighting candles. Lifts just being set to cycle through floors so you never have to press the buttons is another one.Makes more sense than how some Christians will try to argue in-depth about specific word choices of what's usually both a translation and not one done into the contemporary English that they're using to read it.

>>64444958That's hilarious because the opposite is true. The right of governance in any reasonable and non feels or tradition based governing system is consensual in nature. The right of governance is vested in the government in exchange for them providing basic services. The most fundamental of these being the enforcement of contract law, protection against other nation states, and enforcement of general rule of law. A failure to do any of these things is a violation of the fundamental validity of any governing system and adhering to its rules after that is simply not required by the social contract. The correct and logical response is to ignore them and do it your damn self instead. Any other opinion is to label yourself as chattel instead of a person.

>>64441825>I never thought about this before but now I'm wondering if the reason why so many "non-practicing" Jews turn to MarxismMarxism is a secularized derivative of christianity which is the universal variant of reform judaism which was invented by rabbi yeoshua bar yossuf 2000 years ago. Reform jews believe that the rabbis message was only for the jews which the rabbi says explictly in the new testament. Universal reform judaism, invented by Saul, states that it was for everyone. I have noticed that christians have no idea of the origins of their own religion. Jesus was not a christian, he was a reform jew. If you are a reform jew or a christian you are already 90% of a communist.Christians used to form communist collectives hundreds of years before Marx. The Puritans formed a communist collective the first year they were in America, as a consequence they almost starved to death during the first winter. Anyone familiar with the dysfunctional soviet agricultural system understands why. You can do a web search for christian communism if you are interested. It is a fairly interesting topic. The jesuits used to run mini-soviet union plantations in latin america with thousands of brown slaves.
