Glocucks, thoughts?
Hurry up PSA, I need my Glock 26
>>64440067I idort everythingBut Beretta, HK, Glock, and Smith & Wesson are my go tos
>>64440049need opinions:current duty weapon is Glock 17 gen 5, with night sights. I’m thinking about converting to red dot. Do I>sell 17 and duty holster, buy 19 >get 17 cut for dotLeaning towards getting the 19 because it would double as a carry gun, my current carry gun is a 38 snub so definitely an upgrade. Whats /hg/ think?>pic related, duty belt
>>6444008517 to 19 makes no sense, it’s not 2006 anymore, get a 26 or even smaller gun if you want a smaller gun. And keep the 17.
>>64440085Personally I'd go smaller and get a Shield Plus.Or save your money and get a 19I love both the 17 and 19 and I am glad to have both
>>64440108Yeah I can't wait to get my 26, I hope PSA ships it out next week
>>64440113They’re fun, flippy, but you can utilize the same skills you learned on larger Glocks to make the same hits in a much more compact size.
>>64440127As someone with experience on J frames, this is nothing to me
a gun itself must be bulletproof, only then can it self-transcend and become something more
>>64440131The Legendary Super Gun?
>>64440108>>64440113>>64440127I love my 26
>>64440067HK switch when?
I for one, will post an actual italian 92FS inox
>>64440181Maryland Muscle is better.
>>64440185An Inox is still an Inox, and they all shoot great
Went to a new range in Detroit, another 150 rounds of S&B down the pipe without any light strikes. I'm just going to buy S&B from now on I guess, my gun seems to like it better. This range had some cool things about it like $15 flat rental fee with infinite swaps, but the fucking place had no markings. None. No numbers anywhere. I think I shot these groups around 7-10 yards but I have genuinely no idea. There was an unmarked line on the floor and I pushed the target an eyeballed 3 yards passed that assuming the line was 5 yards but who knows. I guess a $10 can of spraypaint and some stencils is too expensive when you only charge $12 for range time and $15 for rentals.
>>64440085Unless the extra length of the grip is bothering you, the g17 is a better duty gun than a g19. I would just get that cut and get a g26 for EDC.
>>64440185>ACK
>>64440236Seriously though, what a crazy lazy range set up. And tape? Tape? Why tape and not a stapler or aligator clips??Anyways, groups got better once I focused on my fundementals. I found when I rapid fired I was driving forward with my arms and bringing the gun back over my left eye, but when I slow fired I would end up with my elbows bending and tilt my head to the sights. Took me awhile to fix, but I saw immediate improvement when I did. Wish I wasn't left eye and leg dominate and right handed, I'd have less to think about.>>64440085If you are using it for duty I assume that's work related. I personally hate spending my own money on work stuff, like having to buy $200 worth of scrubs every 3 months because my last hospital used a slightly different colour blue. I'd keep the duty setup and just buy a RXM since those are like $300 cheaper than a gen 5 19 MOS but still familiar enough to you that you don't need to embrace change. Spend the savings on a new holster and carry belt.
>>64440067HK USA spent years dunking on poorfags and then their first original gun was a Tarus clone...
>>64440085Don't sell your Glocks yet anon>>64440108Pls don't chimp, but I prefer the 17 to the 19. Then again, it's like brownies vs cookies-- they both do the job, and it's largely preference
>>64440085Wait a minuteAre you a cop?
>>64440265nah, church/school security>>64440251Oh yeah, I forgot about the RXM. Those seem good, might try and rent one at the range and see
so a year laterI can now 100% say I wish I went with inox instead but as thirdworlder I'm stuck with my choice for at least another 4 years
Which discontinued Glock should I fomo buy while it's still available? 40?
>>64440441None of then. Don't give your money to cuck companies that bend the knee to California.
Who else stocked up on Gen 3 Glocks this past week?
Does anyone here pocket carry? If so what do you use and do you use a pocket carry holster or just throw it in there? I was thinking either an older j frame or lcp/lcp max
>>64440108>get a 26 or even smaller guna duty gun that wont even get reliable hollowpoint expansion.
>>64440995when i pocket carry its a baby browning or g43, both israeli carry. imo if you're buying a pocket holster you may as well just sack up and aiwb carry
>>64440992I bought more pistol/rifle ammo, I am unbothered.
>>64440992I have a G17 G5 slide I have sitting around doing nothing I might just buy a frame for it
>>64440995I pocket carry my Hellcat sometimes, and rarely my bodyguard 2.0. I actually use an old protective sleeve that was originally made for one of those inventory scanners that looks like a thicker version of a large smartphone or a PDA. It's like a leather phone sleeve with a piece of hard plastic sewn into it to protect the screen. Completely breaks up the outline of the gun since it becomes a rectangle in my pocket. >>64441004What kind of fucking dogshit ammo are you shooting that doesn't reliably expand out of a 3.4" barrel? Testing has shown that my HST +P expands reliably out of a 3" barrel.
>>64441004You just have to do more research on your carry ammo. There are a lot of hollowpoint designs that reliably expand at lower velocities like HST's and critical duty.
Remington golden saber is criminally underrated
>>64440085Buy a new G17MOS slide and a red dot. If you don’t like it then you can swap back and didn’t buy a whole new gun.
>>64441179That's what I did a few years ago. There is a problem now though. Glock discontinued the G17 MOS many months ago so he may have difficulty finding one.
>>64440992Califag here, besides Glock and Newsom collabing to create artificial scarcity, is there any reason I should buy one if I have everything I need? I have:>p365>hellcat pro>PDP>320x5 inb4>Glock 20 stock for innawoodsAnd before the Glock ban I was considering an echelon or mp2.0. I don’t really give a fuck about gen 3 glocks and don’t want to spend more money on mods than on the gun. Am I missing the big picture?
>>64441198Aren't calicucks gonna be able to buy the Glock V now that they won't be able to take a switch? I personally prefer the gen 5 over the 3.
>>64441193This just adds to my point below ->>64441198Glock is so gay and there are plenty of well performing civilian handguns that work better out the box. The only situation I can imagine the value of a Glock is being a post nuclear waste lander scrounging for ammo and parts since they’re so prevalent. My Ruger PCC takes Glock mags ffs. Goddamn maybe I just need to get one.
>>64441198>is there any reason I should buy one if I have everything I need? Are you a collector? Otherwise I'd say no.I personally don't think mass produced tupperware pistols are really worth preserving, but twenty years later there's always somebody happy to see that an example got preserved so whatever.
Can I put together a G17 upper without specialized equipment? I have a slide and an upper parts kit that I can take to a gunsmith but was thinking about doing it myself. Is it that difficult if I follow a guide/am I gonna blow my brains out on accident?
>>64441248You might just need the tool to install the channel liner that can be found on amazon for like 15 bucks. Everything else is easy.
>>64440312At least you got one of the cool plum frames, I think they look nice. Ak guys chase those plum frames like crazy.>>64440441>yeah man buy a glock because you will ALWAYS be able to find parts and shit and when shit his the fa ACK! GLOCKS DISCONTINUED BUY BUY BUY ITS GONE FOREVERWe are like a week after announcement and you think one of the most mass produced firearms in the world is going to dry up? Stop it. Hide your credit card from yourself.
>>64440995I take a lot of road trips and currently live in Detroit. I pocket carry a BG 2.0 with a QVO holster which has this neat ass claw thing that works 100% of the time in every pair of pants I own and 4/6 pairs of shorts I've tried. Go to 14 seconds in for the demonstration. https://youtube.com/shorts/Ivnt4BIr_5w?si=GxKJ61o_S0B9IRy6 The BG 2.0 has some space magic going on with it where it is shockingly accurate despite being laughably small even in the hands of folks I had try it that had never shot it.
>>64441415Here is what it looks like printing in elastic skinny jeans in the worst possible lighting conditions. It doesn't print "gun" if you use the DLC mono block clip, but it prints worst without it. I found that I drew it better with the clip anyways since it kinda seperates your pocket from the grip in most pockets which made the pocket easier to navigate to the grip. Most pants and shorts don't print this bad, just showing that even worst case it's not gonna get you in hot water.
>>64441424Even with the same jeans which I would NEVER pocket carry with because they print so bad being so tight, just a little dimmer lighting and the print is more muted
>>64441415>>64441424Interesting, it's like the emerson wave on a knife. Have you tried sticky holsters? I wonder if that's better or if the claw is the way to go. Thanks anon.
My Cock 17 is what I want but I might get slightly taller sights. Other than that I'll get a Langdon Burtical M9 and become a cool kid.
>>64441434>Have you tried sticky holsters?Honestly I haven't, I'm a strange man when it comes to aethetics, if you couldn't tell by the white skinny jeans, and the koi fish and flower print of the QVO sold me immediately. It's like $80 with the add ons iirc.
>>64441415>currently live in Detroit>food stamps might stop next monthdon't die anon!
I was shooting yesterday at 7 yards and found a square piece of copper jacket stuck in the target, lol
>>64441478Police bodycam vids are gonna be good
>>64441590Ported gun? that typically happens
>Trash for trash
>>64440161I carry a 27 as a camp gun and absolutely love it. I got a 9mm barrel from Wolf too.
>>64441478Yeah shits about to get silly and I live in one of those dark dark blue areas on the crime map. Didn't leave the house without it anyways, this doesn't change much.Hey, at least the foods good
>>64441154Agreed, .82 is some damn nice expansion for 40s&w
>>64440995Desantis pocket holster with a baby browning, never leaves my side even when I'm carrying something bigger. Be wary of a j frame for pocket carry, it's really hard not to print, at least for me.
>>64440161I got mine when they were the OG Baby Glock, still love it.
>>64441688Really consistent performance out of a 2 inch 38 special snubby as well
>>64441814I’ve given Lenny Magill too much of my money 3bh
>>64441814>panic buying a part that will still be the same on the glock v
>>64441827I got those spares years ago
Look at me, I'm the Glowie now.
>>64441842No wonder you can’t shoot straight!
I have a Rock Island 1911 in .45, and I want to get a 9mm slide assembly and extractor for it, because it seems cheaper to plink with 9mm instead, maybe also play with .38 Super once in a while. I know I would be expecting hand fitting for this, but if I were to stick with RIA parts, would it be easier? Also, where the hell do I find this kind of grip safety in stock? Saw it in a movie and I like the look, and I'm sick of the look of beavertails.
>>64440995I use a sticky holster for pocket carry. Just get something that covers the trigger guard and keep that pocket empty. If you’re carry a j frame, you could probably get away with no holster, but I wouldn’t recommend it.And keep a round chambered.
Do all of you hate the idea of owb carry a micro/subcompact?
>>64441852With just the one barrel and slide assembly you're already gonna be paying more than half what your gun already costs plus all the headache of fitting. I don't usually recommend tisas but they have a stakeout 9mm 1911 with an extra 38 super barrel for under 500. Since your main goal is plinking tisas is perfectly acceptable.
Why would someone choose a 43x over g26?
>>64441930thinness, and longer grip is easier to shoot
>>64441930It's slimmer and with the shield micro mags you can carry 15+1
>>64441852Converting from .45 to 9mm is tricky without a ramped barrel frame. Either buy a 9mm Tisas, it’s like 300-400 dollars in a barrel and slide to swap unless you find a parts kit Most 9mm barrels are ramped and won’t work with your frame
>>64441930Why hasn't glock released a 15rd mag for this thing already? There are people shaving one side of a g19 mag and making it work with out issue.
>>64441852You’re better off just getting a new gun, brah
>>64441842What's in the box
>>64441940I read the PSA micro dagger mags are more reliable
>>64441936I heard 26 is "easier to shoot" and feels smoother on the trigger, less recoilHowever recoil on my 43x never bothers me.
>>64441970I agree. I haven't had any problems with my micro dagger mags.
>>64440995I pocket carry a J frame mostly and sometimes an LCP Max, when I feel spicy. Lately I have started waring cargos so I have giant pockets so I carry my Smith 380 EZ in there. I use Vedder Pocket holsters with the thumb tab for all my pockets guns plus my EZ, which I don't really consider a pocket gun, even if I do pocket carry it. I would always use a pocket holster, personally, but especially for autos. A proper pocket holster keeps it oriented correctly for easier and faster draws and adds a layer of safety for guns that don't have a manual safety or a long revolver trigger. I don't like sitting at the table and have my pocket gun pointed at whoever is opposite me with only the fabric of my pocket preventing accidental discharges.
>>64441857I feel like it defeats the purpose of one.At that point just OC a full size semi auto or a magnum revolver
if I order a g47 off of guns.com, will I actually get it or am I getting hosed?
>>64441857I OWB a j frame sometimes. It is quite nice. Actually more comfortable than even pocket carry and you have a much faster draw without eating one of your pockets. People just like to poo poo on fun shit. It's easier to conceal a smaller gun and comfy so go for it!
I just bought another handgun...send help
>>64440992Nope but I did buy my friend's gen 4 g17 off of him that I've been wanting for awhile. Put three boxes of ammo through it yesterday and the grip angle + using a dot for the first time threw me off a little but I'm sure I can train it out.Wasn't expecting him to have the stock slide too, might try printing a frame for it or something lol
>>64442078what kind
>>64442098A .22lr with a 6 inches barrel, my first .22lr pistol, I just want to fuck around and plink.
>>64442052What carry ammo do you use for the j frame
I have this Vis Radom P35 from WW2 that I'm trying to reassemble but can't get the slide to go back far enough to put the slide stop back in. I've watched I think just about every field strip/reassemble video for this gun and can't find anything helpful. I can't get it to look like R3 in this pic. Can some anon help a retard out?
>>64442135it looks like the recoil spring rod is more rounded rectangular than circular. Make sure the rectangle is vertical like in the picture even if it feels like its gonna fall off. The sig p320 has the same problem, people line it up horizontally and wont close right
What do you prefer between hk vp9sk and cc9?
>>64442206hammerone isnt just a rebranded taurus g3
>>64442232Are you under the impression VP9s are hammer fired?
Is the HK Mk23 remotely useful (i.e. unusually durable/reliable, exceptionally accurate) or purely a meme firearm? I heard the originals had wacky endurance like shooting a lodged bullet out of the barrel with another bullet, followed by successive shots with minimal loss of accuracy, but I'm curious if that build quality continued.
>>64442273Imagine a Desert Eagle sized USP in .45
>>64442273its a big heavy gun that works
>>64442273All you've heard about the Mk23 is apocryphal fuddlore spread on forums by boomers with no firsthand experience with the item in question.Yes, the Mk23 is a very durable firearm because it's a well-built, polymer framed gun that shoots an exceptionally low-pressure round, so it can go tens of thousands of rounds before parts breakage. Lots of guns can do that. It's also impractically large, which is why SOCOM dropped it almost immeidately for the Glock 19/Sig P226/P229.
>>64442273As someone with both the Mk23 and the USP45 Tactical, both suppressed, the Mk23 is the better gun when you're not having to carry it. It's easier to shoot accurately, it's much softer shooting. With that said, the USP45 probably does 95% of what the Mk23 does while being more ergonomic and smaller.
>>64442257i saw the SK and assumed it was a p30sk seeing as thats the only viable SK option, sorry
>>64441956For "investing" I should've gotten a standard old one. For a range toy, I should've gotten a new one. But I couldn't resist the allure.
>>64442303Why dont you like the other 2? >>64442206
>>64442331I didn't say i dont like them, all i said is that the p30sk is the only viable "SK" option.Technically i did compare the cc9 to a taurus g3 because it is exactly the same gun rebranded, thats not an opinion that is an observation.
Getting into private security and I wanted opinions. I’m in the Baltimore DC region. For my service weapon I’m thinking on getting a Glock 17 with a holosun optic with a donut of death, gas pedal/ledge (they make those for carrying inside a duty holster now), upgraded glock factory trigger (or potentially an agency arms trigger, not sure yet), flashlight with a laser, flared magwell, and I’m debating on getting an extended slide release and mag release. Is there anything else I’m missing?Reasoning behind the laser is because I like to point shoot a lot. I’m also debating on if I should get one of those slingshot wing things on the backplate, or the RISCpro round counter
>>64440067Gaston diesGlock immediately goes back on what they’re supposed to do; not change shit
>>64442301Cool, thanks
>>64442345All of this sounds like you don't know how to shoot. Lasers don't teach you how to point shoot, they train you to look for the laser dot, which is not a good habit. If you want to train index, just use your red dot. Gas pedals only help marginally, and they can even impede your shooting if you start pushing into the frame of the gun, rather than down on the pedal. The Glock Performance Trigger is okay; I prefer the Apex. Reticles other than a singular dot are memes, at least on pistols. Really, this shopping list of bullshit just says you don't actually shoot or train, and you're just trying to buy your way to competency, when you'd be better off buying 2000 rounds and sending them downrange.
>>64442345>Glock 17 with a holosun optic with a donut of death, gas pedal/ledge (they make those for carrying inside a duty holster now), upgraded glock factory trigger (or potentially an agency arms trigger, not sure yet),Why not just get a echelon that has a gas pedal, stipeling, better trigger than glock with a laughably short reset, and comes with a much better mounting system than MOS? Why pay more to support a company that hates you?
>>64442345if you're going to go Glock 17 size you're better off getting a Walther PDP.It already comes with an optics cut and free plate (your glock 17 would need to be a gen 5 MOS which is discontinued, hell all glocks are discontinued lmao, or you'd need a completely new slide)It already has an "upgraded" trigger, the best striker trigger on the market. It has proper agressive slide cuts so you dont need fancy wing shit. Its also got a proper tapered magwell and better ergonomics. You can either buy a glock and spend tons of money making it a sad PDP clone or you could just buy a PDP.
>>64441610No, just a regular 92A1Must have just sheared off
>>64442147Thanks for the advice but alas mein kampf continues. The rod itself looks pretty circular, with a rounded rectangle thing on the end that has a U shape on one side that fits onto the barrel, so I think I have that how it's supposed to go. I feel like it's something really obvious and I'm just being retarded.
>>64442434only thing i can think of is if the second upside down image is actually important, like you have to actually turn the gun upside down to drop a detent or something.I know the feel though, i have a beretta 84 that wont assemble unless i try the same steps fifteen fucking times until it works the one time where i do absolutely nothing different.
Shot this thing for the first time today. Aftermarket noname 357 barrel, works 100% so far.
Not finished but thought I’d finally share the Crew served beretta. Curious on trying a 4-5moa dot.
>>64442486Forgot image, thanks flu delirium.
>>64442478I love the look of the Glock with the long barrels like that. Nice pickup. I shot the same gun with a long 357 conversion barrel as my first 357 sig. Instantly convinced me I needed to get a gun in that caliber.
>>64442490Thanks, I got really late on 357 train, wish it said 32 on the slide instead.
>>64442488https://jarvis-custom.com/product/beretta-92-m9-compensator-kit/
>>64442496>wish it said 32 on the slide instead.I got mine in 2014, and even then it took almost 9 months for the shop to get it in.
>>64441742No kidding, I need to buy some next time I stock up>>64442309Very cool, old smiths with task force/agency/police engravings have some serious sex appeal. That's a beaut
>>64442121Hand loads mostly. Sometimes I run Critical Defense after a range session and I dont really feel like making more for a bit, but it's mostly the handloads. I tend to load 100 rounds of carry ammo and carry them, rotating the in gun ammo and my reload once a month until a particular set has all been rotated and once I am out, I shoot it all at my next range session.Naturally with a J frame and a single reload coming to 10 rounds, my 100 round sets of handloads last almost a year before I shoot them up. Most factory hollow point loads are rip offs desu. There is no reason to spend 25+ dollars for 20 rounds when you can make shit that doesn't perform any worse for a fraction of that. My preferred bullets are only 12 cents per if you were to buy them online right now. Powder and primer costs are negligible and I reuse brass so it is very affordable and will perform just as well as any of the crappy, watered down 38 special loads out there. I've killed a few coyotes and a hog or two with them so I am pretty sure they will work just fine if I ever need them for goblins.
>>64442488Epic, where did you get the mount?
>>64442503Very tempting. Might go threaded barrel on this one but comp my 92d build. Only downside to this mount is that the geometry prevents a mr11 light rail from being used but I’m sure there’s others out there I haven’t looked at. 6moa is slightly too bright for my liking under nvg but not to a terrible degree.
>>64442430Just gonna guess here, was it blazer ammo? That's the only time I've had it happen
>>64442529Danke. I lucked out and came across this one still in the packaging from circa 1987. Watch eBay but also make sure to check small shop parts bins. There are treasures to be found.
>>64442509Very nice, sad that glock discontinued them, and they keep dropping their less popular models out of lineup.
>>64442533I swear manufacturers lie about MOA. My SRO at 5 MOA is great while my 6 MOA Sig Romeo X is unbearably large and bright
>>64442478Originally a 32 or 23? How many rounds? I tried the whole 23 to 32 conversion thing and it was a shit show
>>64442571Originally 23 police trade-in, with cheap conversion barrel from spectre supply, too. Only 100 rounds but without problems so far. What kind of issues did you have?
>>64442569I blame “bloom” on the dot brightness as it seems that way. How do you like your sro? I went 508t and while a great dot it csn be hard to find at times. Probably a skill issue on my part but that circular glass pane on the cmore is almost spoiling. Imagine sro is likely similar.
>>64442569I blame “bloom” on dot brightness as it seems that way. How do you like that sro? Imagine the circular pane like cmore is almost spoiling. I have a 508t but in some instances it can be hard to find the dot. Likely a skill issue on my part but sro was my plan b
>>64442569Sorry for the double post. As you can see in >>64442597 and >>64442595 I was having some technical difficulties. Even had to refresh and retype. I also blame flu meds, but that’s partially cope.
>>64442597I love my SROs. Dot in the center of a circular window is pleasing I was having some trouble finding the dot today but I’ve been lacking in my practice with that gun
>>64442571That sucks. What barrel? I've found that .357 Sig is the most reliable round in my handguns, with one being a Storm Lake barrel in a Glock 22. Thousands of rounds through three handguns, never one issue.
I've been thinking about the SA-35 for a while now, but I keep hearing bad things about itI realized, can't I just get an original HP instead, and just take out the magazine disconnectWhat would be the pros and cons of taking that route? It is also a gun with a lot of history so it has a lot of aftermarket supportI would also most likely get the BH Spring Solutions optimization packageIf I did this, what specific ones should I avoid and look out forI thought I had heard that the models from right before it was discontinued by Browning started to get pretty low quality
>>64442459>i try the same steps fifteen fucking times until it works the one time where i do absolutely nothing different.lmao finally this after wasting most of my day on this shit. And then I had to use a clamp to hold the rod forward while I got the slide stop back in. And now the one mag I have for it won't go back in. These old guns man, I don't know why I even fuck with them sometimes.
>>64442379I was trained on a Glock and I haven’t ventured outside of it. I debated on getting an echelon, plz redpill me on it and how it stands up to Glock>>64442411>Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS discontinued. Plz redpill me
