>President Emmanuel Macron announced that France will provide Ukraine with additional Mirage 2000-5F fighter jets in the coming days>French newspaper Le Monde reports that Kyiv may ultimately receive between 12 and 20 Mirage aircraft, though the exact number remains undisclosedFrance has already supplied five Mirage to Ukraine from February 2025 onward. They participated in combat as early as early March, intercepting and destroying a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile during a large-scale air attack. One of the Mirage was lost last July due to an accident>France will also deliver additional Aster 15 and Aster 30 missiles for the SAMP/T MAMBA surface-to-air missile systems already supplied to Ukraine

nice, good job frogs
>>64442656Nice picrel, OP.
>>64442656I love the look of Mirages so seeing them get a final run in Ukraine when they were originally slated to be retired is great
i feel sad for the Ukrainian pilots that will have to fly this underpowered piece of junk

>>64443060Its a fasr better ground attack aircraft than anything Russia has in action
>>64443060Yeah, better to send them some F-15s
>>64443060A underpowered bomb truck is better than no bomb truck. Also started the ball rolling on Western jets other than the F16. Ukies might have Grippens in the air by this time next year.
>>64442656Based, TZD must and WILL go on. One HAMMER a day keeps the zigger away.
>>64444567I assume it's not even a bomb truck, but a storm shadow truck specifically. Better to have something for which they can get parts instead of those old variable geometry Su-24 monsters they somehow keep alive.
>>64444580Very true. 1970s Soviet fighter bomber with bodged on Tornado parts must be a maintenance nightmare. Mirage would be considerably easier.
>>64444589AFAIK those Su-24 were a maintenance nightmare even in its best years when they were new. I'm not even sure how ukies keep them alive, since it's not like they could buy parts for them at the very least since 2014.
>>64444591Easier to think of the Mirage as a replacement for the SU24 rather than Mig 29s.
>>64443099>>64444567They've been used for air defense mostly, and according to ukes at least, been pretty good at it.
Any predictions as to which will the be the next Western jet in Ukrainian service? The talk of F18s seems to have died down, now the Grippen is a strong candidate.
>>64445048>now the Grippen is a strong candidate.Kind of an euphemism for what is an intention of order of 100 to 150 jets
>>64445277Here's hoping they send them Meteor missiles too. Could make the Russkie AWACS an endangered species.
>>64445048Probably will have to wait till Gripens enter service in 3-5 years. There's no real other candidates and the existing ones (F-16 and Mirage 2000) are being dripfed.
>>64445977Imagine the Greeks will be encouraged to transfer some of their Mirages. Together with one of the Middle Eastern operators.
>>64446014I doubt it, it's more likely Taiwan would be willing to sell some of theirs, seeing how they're phasing them out (like the HAWK batteries).Greeks only sell/donate shit they genuinely don't see a need for, like 203mm howitzers or AK's.
>>64445048No American planes until Agent Krasnov is still active so it's Mirages, C/D Gripens or first tranche YurofightersMaybe "old" Rafales if Macron is extra generous and wants a W after the India disaster
>>64446170Eurofighters might be a dark horse. Think the Frenchies would rather send Rafales to facilitate transfers of other jets.
>>64446183is a "dark horse" a good thing or a bad thing?
>>64445977>have to wait till Gripens enter service in 3-5 yearsnope, they are expected to come 2026. TZD.https://newssky.com.ua/en/zelenskyj-pershi-shvedski-gripen-prybudut-v-ukrayinu-u-2026-roczi-pidpysano-istorychnu-ugodu/
>>64446251I thought that I read somewhere that it was being speculated that these might be the C/D models and not the E models, but that in and of itself is a moot point anyway. But either way, hopefully SAAB gets its head out of its ass and actually starts pumping out the E/F models in decent enough numbers. I also think that Ukraine needs a platform similar to the Super Tucano to help alleviate the needs of AD
>>64446199Unexpected outcome anon. Usually positive connotations.
europe figured out that they only need to hold out until orange man is gone and have stepped up bigly they'll fund whoever is the big non-miga candidate and admonish the current regime once he's out and a new president swears inthe late 20s are going to be absolutely hilarious, even the mild-mannered yuros are going to shittalk and malign the previous administration
>>64446291i fully agree

The Boeing labor strike in STL is really starting to piss me off.
Is this a technical?
>>64446318President Rubio or Newsom might be the one to open the flood gates on aid. Help win the war your predecessors couldn't. Although Putin might be couped by 2028.
>>64446393>Although Putin might be couped by 2028.Not a Vatnik, but never gonna happen. Putin is dying in office of natural causes, which will be worse for Russia funny enough.
>>64446409The leadership struggle will be hilarious.
>>64446393>Although Putin might be couped by 2028.He's too holed up in his hidey-hole for that to happen. There's also the fact that he's "healthy enough" to outlive the next 2-3 US presidents. Plus, I think that if Putin were to be removed from power under less than what many in Moscow would consider a peaceful transition of power and there's confusion as to who is the "heir" then we'l start seeing the fiefdoms that make up Russia start to seriously consider breaking away from the rotting carcass that is Russia. >>64446391Boeing is a fucking shitshow and has been for the longest time. The forced consolidation of the US defense industry during the 90s fucked up American manufacturing to a biblical level
>>64446170>>64446183Yeah, uh, let's see Taurus first, shall we?
>>64446392technically yes
>>64444591Risk toleranceNo corruption
>>64442656Does Ukraine even have pilots to fly them? Considering the amount of drone pilots and people from rear transferred to trenches I don't think they really need them
>>64445048Sad that the Argie offer of Super Étendards didn't go anywhere. Would have been funny to see them on the Black Sea
>>64443060It's F-16 block ~20 tier.
>>64449139kek
>>64449713>Does Ukraine even have pilots to fly them?Yes>Considering the amount of drone pilots I don't think they really need themYou need both drone and planes in a war>Considering the amount of people from rear transferred to trenchesAre you implying Ukraine is sending plane pilots into trenches on a large scale? If so you're a retard
What we’re seeing worldwide is that no one can afford to do war at a high level (ie, Gulf War 1 and 2 or even Afghanistan) anymore. It’s been years of intensive warfare and neither side has solved their command management / officer corps issues. They’ve gotten better, but not transformative. Neither side can do anything more than small unit assaults and troops movements. Very limited combined arms. The air war remains static, frankly below the level of WW2.Russia doesn’t have the officer corps and command systems to begin with but what about NATO countries? There’s no ability to seriously fund the creation of a Ukrainian officer corps and supporting structures. I realize that it takes a generation to raise a quality officer corps, but NATO countries have our own which should be able to be used for this purpose. Yet nothing.
I think it is cool that Ukraine is getting more 4th gen jets.
not enough
>>64450537ukraine's main problem is manpower and there are shortages of officers and pilots ,because of it the west should deport all ukrainian nationals back home if they want them to win
>>64450457>Are you implying Ukraine is sending plane pilots into trenches on a large scale?Denys Davydov seems to think so. He has said multiple times that that is what happens. And not just airline pilots, actual military pilots too. I'm pretty sure there is a surplus of pilots to a smaller number of available jets right now.
>>64442656Will this one crash and burn trying to shoot down a 550cc dorito too?
God I love the smell of zigger seethe in the morning
>>64453403Happened to the Ka-52 the other day. Mistakes happen. That's why training your pilots to keep their distance from drones is important
