I'll just leave this here.
>>64443484Obviously some sort of command vehicle.
Marauder would make a decent base for a conversion.
This has been demonstrated for some time already.BTR-60.Terrible, sadistically cynical as a military vehicle.Friggin sweet as a Siberian, Amazonian whatever Explorer.Even has a back deck for a launch of your choice. Dirt bike? Jet ski? Gyrocopter? Your imagination.
>>64445010the 577 is what you want.
>>64443484The long wheelbase VBL seems like a good 1 or 2 man camper. The Mexican versions got upgraded with a commercial Mercedes diesel engine for even more funs. Bullet proof against small arms and amphibious.
Someone has to.
KampfSexPanzer Leopard 1, it comes with everything, good offroad performance, smooth ride, easy to maintain engine, light, agile, equipped with a versatile hunting main gun allowing you to hunt anything from deers to ducks and bears. And, most importantly, it is extremely sexo and relatively easy to buy one for yourself.>inb not enough spacefat fucks may not apply.
>>64445051Those are built on UNIMOG running gear IIRC. Good choice!
>>64445110>Those are built on UNIMOG running gear IIRC. Good choice! They have nothing to do with the UNIMOG; they're Renault running gear and the "Mercedes" engine is a rebranded Detroit Diesel 6 cylinder that was built in Mexico.
>>64445001Neat
>>64445029
>>64445029Mexico got a bunch of these when the Soviet Union collapse and found them atrocious as combat vehicles but fantastic as search & rescue and forestry/coast guard vehicles.
M113, hands down. Preferably a normal one, not a VISMOD with a big gay Bradley turret taking up space. Both are quite cozy.Tracked vehicle and can negotiate almost any terrain, great on fuel (as far as military vehicles go) and torque for days.
>>64445029I wish I had bought one of those BRDMs or BTRs from mortar investments when they were 2k. I'm sure with shipping, licensing and maintenance they're huge money pits. Also the fear of bilge pumps and seals failing while driving it in the water and drowning sounds pretty bad, but driving it to a lake and going fishing sounded totally bad ass.
>>64443484m113. i'd take the amphibious model
>>64445171
Hägglund bv 206I wish i had the property to run one of these on.Theyre not that expensive, i remember seeing one for like 30k.
Topol-M IYKYK
>>64450005Have you ever driven one?Unless you're a turbo-manlet, it's borderline painful experience. They've got jawdropping levels of mobility, like legit AMAZING, better than any vehicle you can imagine. But driving them is a miserable experience that causes seasickness and other unpleasant symptoms. The older ones with the Ford gasoline-burners will drain your bank account faster than they drain the fuel tank, and the slightly newer ones with Mercedes Diesel-burners will make you deaf and cause nausea from crankcase fumes and diesel exhaust leaking into the cabin, they also vibrate hard enough to put your mom's toys to shame. They make sense for use in military, first-responder emergency services in exceptionally remote areas, and for companies like those who build electrical pylons deep into otherwise of untouched wilderness. But these things are really not appropriate as recreational vehicles, they're NOT fun to drive after the first few hours, and they're pretty labor intensive and expensive to maintain.
If you have a winch and refurbish the interior, there’s nothing better than an unarmored humvee. Lift the doors off and keep a tarp in the back and you’re good to go anywhere.
Chilling inside of a T-80 Ladoga seems pretty comfy. Vehicle made for VIPs to enter/escape hazardous zones such as the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
>>64450166Negro, the GM/DD 6.2/6.5 V8 is an anemic and unreliable piece of shit. A very minor upgrade from the Oldmobile diesel v8 which is widely regarded as one of the worst automobile engines ever approved for mass production.
>>64445051Mercedes diesel? Good like getting them running if they lose prime.
>>64450186And yet the vehicle can get anywhere.Uparmored humvees are a totally different situation.
>>64443484Has a nice interiorInconspicuousJust fold down the back seats and sleep inside
>>64450181No way that's pretty cool. I wonder what's the little TV for? Assuming its a display for a camera, not for entertainment.
>>64450181Anymore pics of the inside of this? I remember something about it appearing on the frontlines of Ukraine but I have always been meaning to find more about it.
>>64450303>>64450635I've only seen that one interior shot. So I don't know what other features there are. TVs for outside monitoring and possibly video conference. They built five of them and at least one was lost in Ukraine.
>>64445171That's just a train locomotive with road tires
>>64445051>>64445156>>64445183Shut the fuck up. Mexican bastard
>>64450028I must know, do the sleeping conditions include a rack with a bed or reclining seats or is the cab all there is?
>>64445045Im seconding the M577, soon much room for activities and sleeping.
>>64450937it has a camera mast
>>64445045>>64451225Picking something that comes with a built-in tent is cheating.
>>64443484The LVTP-5>Tracked>Fully amphibious>Plenty of cabinet space>Can open the top hatches and stargaze>Passenger compartment comfortably seats 34
>>64451874
>>64451874>機槍>machine gun
>>64451874>>64451885Its kind of crazy to me how we fielded LVTP-5s, seemed like a liability to have a tracked vehicle that holds 30+ dudes.
>>64443484kantanka for its space
>>64450186The 6.2/6.5L is perfectly adequate to push around a soft-skin humvee. They are also very reliable. The problems of the oldsmobile diesel were solved with it's design. Namely the head sealing.Sure, they are a simple roosamaster IDI engine but many people (like me) would rather have an old school chugga-chugga diesel rather than some overbuilt Power-Cummins-Dura-Stroker-Max mill that shreds the rest of the powertrain if you try to do anything with them. The HMMWV runs reworked AMC 20 axles and 4L80E transmissions, y'know. Those can't handle anything more than an "anemic" engine. Anyways, if you wanna shit on a DD engine, go with the 8.2L "Fuel Pincher". THAT was a proper POS with no redeeming qualities.
might need a big ass tarp to keep the rain out but it could work
>>64453002What a silly and awesome contraption. It looks like a toy DUCKW that you put undersized army men in.
