Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread I'm thinking about buying a piston operated upper but can't choose between LMT, LWRC, or PWS. PWS seems attractive due to being cheaper than the other two, I don't know how their long stroke really compares to short stroke besides more recoiling mass. As for LMT/LWRC, I'm more leaning towards LWRC since I've seen that LMT has some quality issues. I want to use the gun in a sort of IAR-ish role and use it with a FRT/super safety.
>>64446122Should I buy an AR-10? I have a 4-16 that I could put on it. How important is an illuminated reticle for a combat rifle?
>>64446122I'm hunting for a budget-ish Over Under shotgun, how are the Franchi Diamonds? There's one for $750, or would I be better off saving the extra for a used Browning Citori? I'm certainly open to other recommendations, my budget is as close to $1,000 as I can get.
Long shot but did anyone screencap the picture of “oh shit in going to …. buy a gun” In the catalog? It’s two threads, one with Riley Reid + one with a hand holding a Draco. Can’t find it for my life.
Best 556 AK in the U.S that is still being made?
>>64446341They're not as nice as a Citori but they're better than 90% of the market at that price point. They're made in Italy, not Turkshit. That said, I would prefer a used Citori or a Beretta Silver Pigeon. Another good choice is a Miroku Field or Trap model. Miroku is the OEM for the Citori, it's the same gun as a Citori just with a different name on it, and not as highly valued because the brand name is less well known than Browning.
Does anyone have the webm of that Chinese ship that almost sank because the door was on the wrong side of the main hatchway, and one swell blew it open, and they have to bail it out with bowls, because their electric bilge pump shorted out?
>>64446656>in the U.S.I think you're out of luck. PSA is probably the only large U.S based manufacturer. Meridian Defense sells them but theyre $1,849 and out of stock
bumping before bedSlow day today?
Am I dumb for wanting a rear sight on my first shotgun? I plan to shoot slugs SOMETIMES, and i'm not sure whether it'd be worth it to get something like picrel or just settle for a cheaper maverick 88 with a bead sight
>>64446656In 5.56? Might honestly be the iwi galil ace.
Attention silencerfags: what would you recommend as a basic "starter" can for standard 16in 5.56 rifles? I've never really delved into the available options.
>>64446171i like my AR-10, but try and get one that you can put .308 through as well, not all of 'em are built to the standard to actually take it, and it's nice to have options. i prefer illumination myself, but just a tiny bit.
>>64447274if you want to treat your shotgun like a rifle cause thats what you are used to its fine.if you actually want to treat it like a shotgun ghost rings are a negative.the other thing is people who think slugs or 3 1/2 is what they want are going to stop thinking that after theyve used it.
>>64447846Polonium K is a good starter
chiappa 1892 nsr, has this black painted / rubberish finish on the wood from factory. i dont like it, has anybody ever stripped and refinished the wood? is it worth doing or should i just leave it be?
If she said she'd text tomorrow but she hasn't, should you text her or not?
>>64447274Best beginner option is to get the Maverick or the 500 field-and-security combo that comes with two barrels. If you want to shoot slugs then get a rifled barrel, which will come with iron sights. The 590 is a dedicated combat model, you cannot get other types of barrels for it like you can the Maverick and the 500.
>>64448561I haven't tried it personally, but I am sure that it not look good if you strip it. The factory is not going to pay for nice wood and then cover it up with paint. It's not like there is going to be some awesome looking Walnut under there....it's going to be the cheapest shit wood imaginable. Now maybe you can make it look nice with enough work but I think the chance of coming out nice is pretty low.
>>64448600>those digits.yeah that’s kinda what i figured, im just not big on the look of it as it is. ill just try and find a factory stock set for it>>64448575drink some water and go for a walk, distract yourself as best you can, you made it this far through life without having to rely on her, go further just to prove that you can go yourself nigga also guns
>>64446341Franchi is pretty good, basically anything is better than Turkshit. They can't afford to actually do proper hand fitting of internal parts at their prices, and if they charge a premium they just make the exterior look pretty, skip on fitment and pocket the extra money anyway.>>64446659Miroku is a good recommendation too. Highly slept on.Used O/U shotguns have the resale value of milk. You can sometimes get them for only a few bucks more than a new Turk shotgun and it's a far better gamble with your money. Just look for any signs that it was owned by an idiot who could have done stupid shit like dry firing it a bunch of times.>>64446656Probably Galil, the big problem is that every 5.56 AK uses some special snowflake magazine pattern. A Galil ACE just uses AR magazines.>>64447274Yes, I never had any trouble shooting slugs with a bead sight but I really struggle to lead a target with ghost rings because of how cluttered the sight picture is. It isn't worth it for a do-all shotgun.
Which AUG should I get for a 3x AUG SF optic? A3 M1 and have it fit perfectly, or A3 M2 and have a front piece that's slightly weirder but a generally more compatible gun?
>>64448533thanks anon!
>>64449552Haven't kept up with the aug updates, I have the regular m1, but what is the difference with the m2? I used the regular anniversary optic on it.
>>64450358Another screw slot to support longer rails. Different receiver to let it use more handguards. Couple ounces lighter. Better charging handle. But the front nose looks slightly silly when using the integrated optics.
>>64450475I would just go with the m1 for aesthetics if that matters to you, as for the charging handles most owners just switch it out for the corvus or manticore which is far better than m2 or m1 handle.
Just found out about VKTR industries, anyone have experience with them?
Anyone have experience with these? I want to get the HK stamped stock but the price difference is crazy.
>>64447274Ghost rings on shotguns are GOAT.
Are bungee slings worth it or a meme?
Very dumb question: You don't actually get a physical stamp mailed to you after you've completed NFA paperwork right? It's just electronic?
>>64450962There is stamped paperwork. You need to hang onto that paperwork, ideally keep it with the weapon.
>>64450504Those don't have the forward assist, which is incredibly important to me, so charging handle will end up as an M2 one regardless
Do you guys know of any ranges nationwide that allow rental shootings of SVD family rifles. I would assume something like battlefield las vegas has one. Or would I just be better off trying to suck some dude on gunboards dick to shoot his
Why aren't piclok (mlok with picatinny sections near the front end) more widespread? It's the best of both worlds.
>>64452176I'm not sure what you mean, those combo rails are common as hell, in fact sometimes it's annoying to have to wade through all of those to find a plain handguard. They're only the best of both worlds for very specific builds, a lot of the time the pic section near the front end is unwanted.
>>64452118SVDs are actually extremely rare in the US, but Battlefield Vegas does have one on their menu. That is kind of the go to place for the tourist experience shooting a wide variety of different guns.
What rifle is this and what's the device at 12 o'clock on the hand guard?
>>64447274Thanks for the input guys, I decided to get a Maverick 88. KEK at picrel
>>64450881 Save yourself the upcharge for an HK marked stock over an new production from same manufacturer. The older HK marked ones are worse stocks than the new ones. They tend to fit looser and rattle. The new stock attach to a slimmer folding mechanism. And a lot of times the plastic is starting to soften and turn to oil.As for how they shoot. They are heavier than any other stock out there for the mp5k, and the widest when folded.
So if I put some velcro on the wire bit can I just call it an arm brace? The LOP is shorter than most commercial braces.
>>64454904>if you're magdumping with fmj/bear and hitting center mass reliably, but not scoring any lucky CNS hits; will you be fine?no
>>64454953this guy ate 12 rounds center of mass before stopping. iirc he wasnt even on drugs, just really mad lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLFHMd3LLDM
>>64450962Online applications are now entirely electronic. You will get the approved form and tax stamp in pdf format. No paper will be mailed.
>>64454579Next time you buy another firearm make sure not to buy from guns.com, there are other places that have better deals.
>>64450881Those choate folders are really good. Good lockup and quite sturdy.
>>64455377Well damn. I don't know many sites, can you name some?
>>64455646dahlonegaarmory, kygunco, sportsmansoutdoor, there are other, but you can always google "maverick 88 deals and you will find sites that offer better deal and shipping.
why NOT do ned kelly tier armor for home defense? your not going to be running around, your house isnt a mile long, its (most) likely not going to last more then 5 minutes, why not go full silly?
>>64456197>burglary is already over before you get that shit on
>>64455646Gun.deals. they dont sell guns directly, but show good deals on tons of sites.
What kind of .380 is worth buying? For carrying.
i'm lookin at a ddm4 v7 for $1200, is that overkill for a first AR? or should i get some cheaper shit, run it to the ground, then start looking at more expensive stuffpicrel, it's what they have in stock: magpul grip/stock, no foregrip
