How do we feel about roach weapons? not the copycats but originals like the Canik handguns for example.

it's a glock clone
>>

I like my Solun shotgun.
It's my door gun since I don't mind losing it as evidence to the cops.
>>
>>64447442
>originals like the Canik
It's a Glockroach.
That said, the Glock system is so well engineered I would trust them to knock it off if I needed a cheap Glockalike (I don't).
I've seen nice Turk guns, they don;t get imported to the US though. Cletus wants his $300 impulse buy and Hymie & Co Import in Florida is there to give it to him.

>not the copycats but originals like the Canik handguns for example.
Anon, they're a bunch of Walther P99 clones. They work well, but they are not original at all.
>>
>>64447928
It’s funny too because walthers aren’t even that expensive and are far better in every way

shot a canik tp9 or tp7 or whatever, can't remember. it was pretty nice
that's all i can say about it, held it for a grand total of 10 minutes and 30 rounds

Walther clones with shitty QC. Reject roach, embrace schnitzelgun.
>>
>>64447442
I've tried one and it handled way better than a p99. But I still won't buy turkshit

mine werks.
comes with a hardcase full of accessories, which is nice if you don't already own a lot of stuff. mecgar mags.
i appreciate that canik appears to listen to its customer base and seeks to improve its handguns, as evident with some changes made in the 'mete' line.
canik's parent company has been a defense contractor with turkey since the 90's, so it's not like their tooling is problematic when it comes to producing handguns.
>>
I have a Canik mete sft, it is very enjoyable to shoot and you get a lot of stuff with it for a great price. Would buy again, the trigger is the highlight when it comes to a duty style gun
>>

Canik pistols are heavily derived from the Walther P99.

Generally speaking, Turks are really hungry for foreign currency and sell their products at razor thin margins to get it. We are in a really good place to get some stupid good value for our money in this situation, but it comes with a lot of caveats and asterisks.

Firstly, there is a big difference between their shotguns and their pistols/rifles. Turks make cheap shotguns specifically because their own domestic market is so permissive for owning one. They have an entire cottage industry of subcontractors and parts manufacturers that make parts and modules, then sell them to assemblers that put them together into a wide variety of similar but slightly different models. The basic single lug design they use is straightforward enough but it is usually an indication of a zero effort design. Their Benelli M1 and M4 clones are better, but really the pumps have fewest issues because there is just little to go wrong (not to say there is nothing to go wrong). If it is at least based on a solid design and warrantied by a reputable importer, a Turk shotgun can be acceptable. But most of them are either dogshit by design, have warranty in name only or are expensive enough that a non Turk alternative is available for only slightly more money, even if it is used.

The pistols and rifles are on the whole much better. They can't get a license to manufacture such restricted weapons as easily, so you aren't dealing with as many fly-by-night assemblers scrounging parts from who knows where. They tend to be all in house and do a better job, but these are still cheap guns. Still, you see stuff like Canik and Tisas 1911s really punching well above their price tags. Dirt cheap options like SAR can suffer, but I suppose they are still better than a Hi-Point.

Ammunition varies too, but they are a NATO member and can make stuff to military specifications. Doesn't mean that all of it is, but I've had no problems so far.
>>
>>64447957
Yeah I like the Canik but seeing basic models sell for either the same money or slightly more than a Walther is surreal. I think people just don't understand what a Walther is because they don't market them as well.

>>
Turkey channeled all their SOVL into making one (1) good gun and that is the Tisas 1911 everything else is dogshit as a result
>>
>>64449779
Listen, dude, I'm absolutely sure you have a good personal reason, but I'm positive that anyone who sits down to schizo over this shit will find it no matter what they're schizoing over. I like caniks and I think you are the loser.
>>
>>64449839
It's okay, the need to justify poor purchases is something everyone experiences in their life.
>>
>>64447442
Bought the 55 TP9. Lasted about 1200rnds before the double action failed by causing light primer strikes. Turns out the mechanisms that forces the cocker back was slipping early. Because it was a cheap $300 gun I only brought it out so often, Canik wouldn't fix it, "out dated model". Still works in single action, nothing more than a range toy. I will say it's pretty accurate and at least I can use the mecgar mags in my PDP. Never again though, fuck turkey.

>>
>>64447442
I have no issues recommending them to people on a budget. You can get a new one for like four hundred bucks and have a pretty reliable handgun that won't have issues till like nine or ten thousand rounds.
>>
>>64450403
>it's literally a PPQ
It's a P99 clone (older than the PPQ) but people in the gun community call every striker-fired gun a "Glock clone" as a form of satire.

No, I'm going to agree. You definitely could go make several gigs worth of images on basically any brand having failures. Back in the day, there was a guy who made huge supercuts of Glock jams and kbs, for example, and I'm sure there's like a Smith schizo or something. It just smells like console wars but guns

Your post makes no sense. Turkshit deserves its bad rep. Some of their stuff CAN be somewhat okay, like Stoeger etc, but it's still a hit or miss, while most other western brands outside of SIG have never had such pervasive issues.

never had a problem with mine, bought it for like $325 years ago and came with loads of stuff for the money. absolutely zero complaints, its nothing fancy but does exactly what its supposed to do, is easy to clean and works every time.
