Ruger GP100 or Beretta M9?
Pick one.

Ruger. I love me some 357

I'll take the GP, lawyer script and all.
>>

How come
>>
>>64452910
Mo is nice to shoot and all, but a GP is freaking bomb proof. It is one of the few revolvers that you can shoot pretty much forever without having to worry about something breaking. I have found that Beretta 92s tend to encounter parts breakages either really early on because US made examples are not as good as Italian ones or at high round counts when the locking block or slide start to crack. Small parts like pins and springs will quit along the way too. This is not truly unique to Beretta (except the locking block which is a design weak point) but they do seem to be slightly below par on parts durability nowadays. Guns like Glock simply raised the bar.

Wow thanks for the detailed answer.
I'll definitely buy an Italian M9 after the Ruger.
>>
>>64452558
if you don't have a duty pistol already, the Beretta will fill that hole
if you do have a duty pistol you never need more than one and you should get the GP100 because it's really good fun
>>
>>64452558
wich should I buy for shooting very hot loaded 357, gp100 or sp101?

wich will hold up better.
>>
>>64453080
the SP101 is a bit small for the super hot stuff, it's kind of uncomfortable to shoot that way
from my experience with my SP101 I specifically recommend the GP100 1771
https://gun.deals/search/apachesolr_search/736676017713
the 4.2 inch barrel and full underlug are the correct choice for .357 mag
>>
>>64453080
Both are overbuilt.

you've never seen a cracked M9 slide in real life nor have you have shot any gun until parts failure. you're simply regurgitating bad things you've heard about the M9.
The italian Beretta factory has just as bad of a reputation as the american factory.
And it took less than 5 minutes for me to find this picture.
Ruger's reputation is just as bad as Beretta's. They do not make any bombproof guns.

oh look! another Ruger suffered a catastrophic failure with factory ammo. Bomb proof gun amiright!

nothing weak about it. It makes my dick hard

everything else you said can be said about any gun

Fawk it
After further consideration, I'll just get both.

Went to pawn shop and found a used Italian Beretta m9a1 with threaded barrel for less than a new us made one. Has those awfully wide tacky laser grips, Wilson combat buffer. They spent all that money and didn't even put a d spring in it

>load size: HEAVY

>bought a GP100 years ago over a 686 because I'd always heard they were built like tanks and Smiths had become persona non grata after the hillary hole debacle
>crane was poorly machined and wasn't flush with the frame (which I suppose I should have noticed before I bought it)
>bluing started to wear off almost immediately
>cylinder always felt looser than I would have liked
>most egregiously, after 3 or 4 shots the cylinder would consistently lock up - neither trying to cock the hammer nor pull the trigger would allow it to rotate
>no amount of detail stripping and cleaning seemed to address the problem
My GP100 was legitimately the only gun I've ever owned that gave me trouble.

Just bought a GP 100. It’s not really comparable to a 92. I’ve carried both now and I’d pick the 92 for sure.
The 92 feels a bit rattlier being a semiautomatic, but it fits much better in the waistband and carries 12. The GP 100 feels solid, but it’s heavy and I don’t want to carry moon clips.

nta, but personally I love .38 Special. Very fun little round to shoot.
>>
>>64452558
I guess it just depends what you want it for.
If you’re looking for something for general fun and protection, either would fit that category.
I wouldn’t personally carry either one though. 9mm ammo is going to be cheaper though,
>>

>The italian Beretta factory has just as bad of a reputation as the american factory.
Not true. US made Berettas do have lower QC than the italian ones. A simple look at both factories is enough to understand why

This, but just wondering which to get first.

what?
>>
>>64462024
you fell into a common intellectual gotcha. A beretta mag can be 15-18 and even more with extensions.
When counting capacity, anything OVER a number still includes that number. So yes, at full capacity a magazine has 12 rounds, but also more.
you could compare the beretta with the revolver and say "both hold 6 rounds of ammo so capacity is comparable" and be correct.

Strikerslop pistols are subpar
DGI rifles are subpar

The proof is in the pudding. The US has never won a war since adopting eugene stoner’s shitty rifle and following the loss of the Mlol9mm has been afraid to even enter one.
