The Turkish Armed Forces have received the initial batch of Altay main battle tanks from the Ankara Tank Factory. The factory will deliver 96 modern tanks annually

I don't care about tanks.
Sublime. With this most recent achievement, fate has in a single stroke, marked the decline of the west and spelled a new era of wondrous prosperity and peaceful global dominance for the Ottoman bull, which promises to firmly stand in sharp contrast to the historically bloody ascent of western powers and the cruel subjugation it brought to the humbler nations of the world. With the blessings of Ottoman quantum TB-2 drones, quantum miniature cruise missiles, and quantum enhanced watermelons will be the instruments with which TÜRKIYE affirms its noble stewardship of 21st century world politics and offers the non-western world a different option; an humanist alternative to the depredations of Western leadership and the opportunity for a more equitable and dignified multilateralism.
>>64453791because of drones?
>>64453797this copy pasta gets me, all the time
The delivered ones are T1 variant, share many common points with Korean K2. The ammunition is stored in the hull on both sides of the driver without isolation, in the T2 version there is to be full isolation.
>>64453785How many tanks have been ordered in total?
>>644539984 x 250 tanks. 4 batches in T1, T2, T3 and T4 variants.T2 will run on Turkish made diesel + transmissionT3 will have 3 crew only, with autoloaderT4 likely to be unmanned (rumors only)
Sublime (unironically)Dope 70s paint scheme
I think they look pretty neat. :)

>>64454009Any info on the APFSDS for the MKE 120/L55 ?
>>64454054if i recall correctly this ammo is being produced by MKE, apparently a variant of German DM33 but not DM53https://www.mke.gov.tr/Urunler/120-mm-Tank-Muhimmatlari/197Not an expert on this topic but Turkish tanks mostly used HEAT-T & HEAT-MP-T rounds in Syria. These are produced by Turkish MKE too.
>>64453785Unironically like it, looks like if the K2 Black Panther was made in the 1990's.
Send their Leopard 2s to Ukraine.
>>64454132Turkish Leo2A4s are also being upgraded to Leo2NGs. So, i think Turkey doesn't contemplate a scenario to phase out Leopards anytime soon.
>>64454152Makes sense anon. Are they keeping some M60s in their future plan?
>>64454168I hope not
>>64454152The only pipe dream scenario I see is the Turks and Greeks agreeing to phase out a comparable number of Leopard 1's for that purpose, but it involved Turkey and Greece agreeing on something that isn't earthquake relief, so the chance of it happening is below zero.Either way, that's not what the thread is about.
Sublime
>>64454182If this didn't happen before 2024, it won't happen anytime soon because Turkey has already suspended CFE in 2024, declaring that no limits apply to the number of conventional military equipment in Turkish arsenal. (Turkey was limited to 4000 tanks by CFE)https://www.setav.org/en/perspective-the-suspension-of-the-treaty-on-conventional-armed-forces-in-europe-cfe
