Redpill me on serbian small arms. What kind of quality can i expect, reliability, ergonomics, affordability etc.

The only complaint I can come up with is that the safety on the M70 (the 32acp pistol M70 (the Zastava M70 32acp pistol, not the Czech M70 32acp pistol) not the AK M70) seems like it doesn’t stick in the safe position very well. Other than that they are solid steel bricks that reliably shoot bullets, so not much to complain about.

>>64456217Generally pretty good. Serbs/Yugos mostly followed Soviet design philosophy which focused on reliability first. We are talking AKs, SKS, Tokarevs with slight enhancements and added features but usually lacking chrome lining in their barrels. Quality standards aren't impressive, but reasonably good for the most part.Their other major inspiration was Germany. They also manufactured and used Mauser 1898s (by way of FN), tweaked MP-40 variants and direct copies of the MG-42. All very sensible choices. To this day they still make hunting rifles on the old Mauser tooling. Fit and finish isn't quite up to German standards, but adequate.
