What's wrong with it

First you put the Bren on a tripod, then you aquire a sight line on something you want to shoot. Then you put a lamp or post 10 feet in front of you of and 30 degrees to the left, then you adjust the sight till it is aligned with the post . Now you can take it off and change the point of aim of the Bren gun or even take it off the tripod and now so long as you haven't accidentally adjusted the sight you can reattach it to the Bren, relalign with the aiming post or lamp and you can reaqquire your previous point of aim

But....why?

Because its British, someone with some pull thought of it during an FTX and they ran with it despite not really mattering compared to the real problems faced during war

So you can quickly re-mount the Bren and fire on a pre-designated target even in zero visibility. Useful, but only in a very limited set of circumstances.
