For me it's the goofy swamp tractor
>>64464948but why are they separated?
>>64467127Wink wonk up down hehehehe
I dunno about the western ones but I remember watching the soviet version die in droves in Ukraine. Would convert for van life if I had one. Give me one.

>>64464948I don't get why they have this big ass shieldswhy not simply make the MG controllable from the inside?>inb4 well you still have to peek out to relaodthere are ways to fix this
>>64468626>why would you have easy and cheap solution when you could have expensive and difficult solution?
>>64468637Ah, sorry didn’t realize this was a Thurdiemobile; where cutting 0.1% of the cost matters more than protecting the crew.
>>64468645The walls in that thing are thin enough to be pierced with handguns, so the added protection would be questionable at the best.
>>64468661>The walls in that thing are thin enough to be pierced with handguns
>>64468645It's a rear line logistics vehicle and ATA missile platform, if you're within range of enemy small arms fire/indirect fire you've already fucked up beyond belief.
>>64468626Because you can't see fuck or shit from an RWS camera feed.
>>64468626this is not an assault vehicle, it's a logistics/utility vehicle. It was also designed in, like, 2001 to 2004 if I'm correct.
>>64468626so true, why is the backline logistics vehicle purpose built to traverse swamps and deep snow in the middle of nowhere not built like a next gen heavy tank
>>64468965>>64468890>>64468862>uhm it's just a logistics vehicle sweetylogistics vehicles can be targeted by artillery and drones as well.also there are other vehicles with a similar function that have an MG controllable from inside (TPz Fuchs)also far from being just a rear-area logistics vehicle, the BvS10 is purpose-built for both combat and support operations, and is / was deployed in various frontline and expeditionary roles by the French, Dutch, British and Swedish armed forces.
>>64468965>adding a remotely controlled MG is equal to a next-gen heavy tank
>>64468862>if you're within range of enemy small arms fire/indirect fire you've already fucked up beyond belief. They're already regularly tapping logistics vehicles 20km from the frontline in Ukraine
>>64468626Some are, mostly newly produced ones which act in the APC role. A lot of old ones haven't ben upgraded with one though.>>64468890>>64468965It can be used as a logi, sure, but you're retarded if you think this thing is used for backline logi instead of trucks. It's used for frontline logi and where the terrain is so rough a truck can't get through. It's really just a modular all-terrain vehicle which is used in all kinds of roles, from my head alone I know it's used as an APC, frontline logi, mortar carrier, medevac, SHORAD and as a mobile C2 node.
>>64469009it was designed decades ago and that costs money. it was also made pre-FPV drone. this was not a concern at time of design. that is why it was not designed with a remote turret.>>64469222you'll note I didn't say backline.
>>64464948They're cute
>>64469020Politics and budgeting. Would you rather use 200k to refit one with a remote station or use the money for equipment for front line troops?
>>64469339>200k to refit one you talking about CROWS?Why is there no middle ground between “exposed soldier” and “gyrostabilized with night vision, infrared, and god knows what else”?
>>64469361>Why is there no middle ground between “exposed soldier” and “gyrostabilized with night vision, infrared, and god knows what else”?unironicaly question btw.like is the soldier able to use the M2 iron-sight with his NV goggles and it just wouldn't work if it were to be used via a periscope? (then again: it would still make sense to at least have it as a back-up option)
Want but have nowhere to store it the 360 days a year I don't need it.
I always get a little nervous seeing these guys swim
>>6446849615K? Thats it?!
>>64469604most basic version is like 25k anon
>>64469596does NOT look like its supposed to do that lmao
>>64469375I'm surprised we dont use a simple mirrored periscope into a gunsight like ww2 style, but I guess the mechanics and stuff to also control the turret traversal and elevation would take up a lot of cab space, when a AFAIK a CROWS sits on the roof pretty much and you control it with a tablet style computer
>>64467127Some dude pointed out that driving them is a miserable experience, and this design concentrates all the miserableness in the driver compartment, keeping the fighting force in better shape.>>64468626Iraq anti-ambush updates, I understand.
>>64469718what's fucked up is that it is
>>64470074What if there is even a small wave lmao or is it for only ponds and shit
>>64470135>or is it for only ponds and shitI think so
>>64468965>Not alot of roads in northern sweden.
