And why is it the Coast Guard?
>>
Before someone asks, yes. Those are dummy M-16s. A lot of the barrels and front sights are fucked up because the Company Commanders taken them from recruits and toss them like spears in the grass before giving them a decommissioned M1 Garand to sweat with.
>>

Take them*

Why not just give them real M16A2s? There's like 2 million just sitting in climate controlled warehouses.

Also USMC obviously
>>

>>
>>64473639
Of course they’re dripping; they’re around water a lot.
>>
Are they blue so they're better camouflaged against the water?
>>
>>64473639
Joining the Coast Guard seems like the comfiest way to get hands on with guns, full bennies, good pay, basically no real danger, and the chance to shoot thirdies from a helicopter.

because the coast guard exists in a bureaucratic liminal space between the DoD and DHS that makes USMC procurement look normal in comparison

Because the USCG is where all the rich kids go. The chair force is nice and all but coasties have some of the best jobs in the military, especially the officers.
>>
>>64473927
No one believes any of this. Bottom tier shitflingers flinging shit.
>especially duh officers
You have no idea what they do. Stick to your lane.

Girl Scouts are fucking scary, bro. They'll steal your cash with cutthroat sales tactics and appeals to your better nature. I don't even eat cookies, man.

We use M4s.
>>
>>64473770
Don't they constantly see action? They're a quick road to danger.
>>
>>64474303
They're possibly the only armed branch protecting America.
>>
>>64474412
Aren't there some military branches that had human trafficking operations on their posts?

Only the handful of people boarding drug smuggling boats. Some of it is their DSF made up of TACLETS and the like. Some of it is just port security types (cops in small boats). Their naval work does frequently take them into very challenging weather conditions, frequently in small ships and helicopters, which is dangerous.

>>64473730
They're in boot camp practicing drill and ceremony in that pic. IRL they have access to all the usual stuff. Their boot camp is different, with lots of exams and skills tests that actually have consequences, like holding people back multiple weeks or outright failure. If you're interested in boats and law enforcement and not being surrounded by complete retards then its probably the best branch.

I'd assume these guys are new recruits, which is why they're wearing sneakers? In my country, we wore sneakers for the first two weeks of training to get our feet used to marching and running all day.

Friendly reminder that when this fucker was chasing down Poncho Villa's thugs in 1916, he spent an evening getting absolutely hammered in some border town brothel and drunkenly finger-fucked his loaded 1911, unintentionally discharging it and nearly shooting himself in the process. He proceeded to blame the gun, not his own drunken idiocy, and that's why he swapped over to carry single action revolvers instead of a 1911.

Very much /k/ommando approved behavior.

Random shit no one cares about: He also competed against one of my distant relatives in the modern pentathlon at the 1912 Olympics.

He also created what could have been the most kino addition to WW2 that, unfortunately, was rejected by 'sensible' people before implementation.

Sneakers are most often worn when doing most sweating and running in USCG basic.

Blisters are good for the sole. Once the foot has recovered it will not break so easily next time.
