I tried one once ever and it was a 10/22 thing with a stock popular for around 7 seconds because it sucked.

Why don't they make square casings with round bullets?
>>64477393They call them saboted but it flew like a brick. conical sabot spacers are just correct,
>>64477397ESL... the problem is nobody on the planet prefers non-white to white. But that's not weapons related.
>remember helical magsI never forgot them, Anon
>>64477404
Whyfor?
>>64477410Swag
there's always that retarded noob in the lobby who buys a bisonhard to forget when these retards just rush in dying at 20 sec
>>64477382I want a 9mm PCC AR-15 with a side-mounted helical magazine that doesn't serve as the rifle's foregrip.
>>64477460Why? Sounds unbalanced and uncomfortable. Seems like the best solution is the calico method of having it above and backwards. Any other answer results in a very lopsided gun
Design a rifle like the Halo ODST M7SA3 Block III but with the magazine pushed as far into the receiver as it can technically go, forming part of the receiver's recoil support. A telescoping bolt that strips a round from the end of a 100 round helical magazine and eases it into battery. The top and bottom mounted helical magazines are ergonomically retarded.
I miss Killzone
>>64477446oh no you don't zigger
Convince me not to buy a calico m100p. I found an auction site selling one for $579. What am I in for? Does anyone make new mags or am I gonna spend $200 more when I find out the original is fubar?!
>>64477547Under $900 all-in? FUKKIN DO EET.
>>64477547I've read up on them and tried to buy once directly from the company once. From what I know:>it's basically a 10/22 with a helical feed system. internals are really simple>you SHOULD be able to order springs and replacement parts from Numrich if they have them in stock>magazines are funky and if they're over wound you can break them. It's 50/50 if the mag you're talking about is fucked or not.>Calico makes new mags but this incarnation of the company is shady>I tried to buy one about 5 years ago, MAILED them a check because they don't do online payments and never got my rife, but they never cashed the check either.>for ammo, you're probably best sticking to CCI Minimags
>>64477410california
>>64477410For his and her pleasure
>>64477561>>64477588They also have the carbine with the folding stock but I've wanted the pistol specifically ever since I saw the ad for RE:Code Veronica in like the playstation magazine or something.
>>64477382You now remember that doublestack 10/22 mags were a thing (emphasis: were, and poorly done). Someone needs to try it again and better (and serviceable). 30rd mags in the size of a BX-15.>>64477390Any memory of what it was called? I love learning about obscure gun stock kits/aftermarket parts/mags. Weirder the better.
>>64477382>thermal clips
>>64477382>everyone talks shit about the calico>shoot mine one 4th of july>fed finehuh, so it's just retards

>>64477404FUCK YEAH CALICOProbably one of the most /cyb/ guns out there.
>>64479084The sporters with the wooden stocks look sweet>jams after 3 roundsHave you tried replacing any of the springs in it? Do you know if it's a mag issue?
>>64477382I've wondered for a while if you could make a helical mag that feeds like a Lewis Gun magazine, those allegedly are rather reliable because they don't have a constant spiral that binds up but instead basically>Flat for most of the circle>Ramps down>Flat again >RepeatsI'm not so sure if it would remain reliable if it's not being fed top down though, and it'd be pretty fat since the bullets are aligned inward rather than straight out.
What about>Helical mag>Except instead of springs it's actuated by the gun's receiver ie; belt fed systems
>>64477404>>64477405>>64477410>the Calico reboot was a scamI'll never not be mad.
>>64477382>rememberbut there are new guns being made with helical mags now
>>64479604>put the weight as far forward as possibleI like the layout of Calicos better with the weight of the mag over the pistol grip. Long pistol caliber barrels are heavier than you’d expect too because as the inner diameter gets bigger the wall thickness has to get thicker to contain the same pressure. So, for the same barrel lengths, a 45acp pistol caliber carbine barrel weighs more than an AR barrel and a 9mm one weighs about the same even though 45acp pressure is 1/3 that of 5.56 and 9mm is 1/2.>>64478546GSG makes a 110 round drum for the 10/22 and it works a lot better than I thought it would. I only have like 1 stoppage per mag dump, which for a semiauto 22 is like top tier reliability.
I don't think about mags much, but why don't big mags ever work (coffin, helical, drum etc). I always just assumed it was too mucb spring tension, but idk.
>>64480214Yeah, it’s mostly the heavier spring pressure when fully/mostly fully loaded either pushing up on the bolt and adding more friction to that, or making it harder for the bolt to strip out a new round because of higher friction between the round and the feed lips. If a gun & high capacity magazine combo doesn’t work then it can usually by solved by only loading the high cap mag to 90-95% capacity. Some of these are worse because they are pistol mags and most of those are double stack, single feed which adds even more pressure at the feed lips. I don’t think I’ve even had an issue with high capacity rifle mags that are double stack, double feed except of course M1 Carbine “30” rounders, but again, those (usually) work fine if loaded to 25 rounds.
>>64479353wouldn't a system like that beat itself to death faster than ordinary helicals?
>>64480214Less reliable, more cumbersome, suffers more from wear. Having more capacity isn't worth the hassle, and if you're willing to put up with the hassle then you may as well go with a belt-fed system instead.
>>64479084Nice
>>64477382I come in peace!https://youtu.be/6RYwrOGSSpA?t=3385
>>64480206>GSG 110rdIronically despite being GSG that sounds like it's the most reliable drum mag in the history of the 10/22. You have:>GSG 110rd drum (50rd option in the past? May be a typo in my notes.)>Sanford-50 (original 10/22 drum, clear, brittle as shit, made by Eaton, also offered by AMT for their 10/22 knockoff)>Pro-Mag 50rd drum (replacement to Sanford-50)>Black Dog Machine 50rd drumand I'm probably missing one or two in here but I've got this list from the info I could dig up online and from what I have in person (no drums in my collection though).
