Could the US army overindexing on conventional warfare weapons come to bite them in places like Nigeria or Venezuela? What use is an Abrams in the jungles?
>>

Venezuela has plenty of roads where people actually live, maybe not Abrams ready roads but still generally maneuverable for light vehicles. Venezuela is also basically exclusively populated in the north, with the actual thick southern jungle being literally uninhabited. The US would utilize air force helicopters and ISR for the most part. Like Vietnam concepts with GWOT technology (with a less contested air space)

It really depends on how much resistance there'd be, more than weapons.

Just how loyal would people be to Maduro?

With enough ammo and Zyn anything’s possible

How would NBC development help here?
What is overindexing? It certainly isn't an English term.

Is there any issues with Nigeria when your allies are the ones who live in the jungle while the enemy lives in the sahel?

The real question is

Will the US army be using multicam tropic in the jungle? Its a very underrated camo
>>
>>64479099
Probably not. OCP is good enough.

They’ll change from something mediocre like brown multicams to something objectively worse due to corrupt contracting, pretend it’s great for fifteen years while soldiers bitch about it and make memes about how shit it is, and then they’ll come in towards the end of the conflict with something decent after using every excuse in the book for their shit choices and bribery.

Military.com had a pic the other day showing what a modern plain OD USMC uniform would look like and it's fucking kino, that's my vote.

>What use is an Abrams in the jungles?
According to WW2, very useful.
Don't think Nigeria, think Philippines, Papua New Guinea and Borneo.
Not so useful in the mountains, if that's where you're fighting. But were invaluable for destroying fortified Japanese positions.

haha based it's also just as awesome when your forests are torched by leftists and firestorms engulf entire blocks

>What use is an Abrams in the jungles?
hard as it may be to believe, but people do not like like living in jungles and have their population centers outside of them
in that situation, tanks can attack enemy positions outside the jungle to starve the enemy currently in the jungle

NV troops also heavily used tanks, using the jungle as cover to get closer to the enemy
roads and clearings also had to be made to travel through the jungle, further creating space for tanks to operate along those roads

>Not so useful in the mountains, if that's where you're fighting
the british considered mountains to be tank countryin korea, and would operate armored platoons up there

That's what the paratroopers are for, and no, helicopters/drones/lasers/whatever aren't a satisfactory replacement.
>>
>>64482231
To be fair, the Sherman is literally half the weight of the Abrams though. Booker would be a closer match if it wasn't also a 40 ton fat bastard.
>>
>>64483427
>the Sherman is literally half the weight of the Abrams though.
heavy lift capacity has increased dramatically in the meantime
you couldnt fit a single M4 inside a C-47, but you can fit a pair of M1 abrams inside a C-5 galaxy

I hate that the military blurs out faces of SOF guys. Very lame.
