Now that we’ve solved pizza as an MRE, when could we start seeing American-chinese food as a menu?

I’d argue all americans are familar with it and it more american than chinese at this point.

>panda e orange chicken MRE
that'd probably give the Chinese a fucking conniption if they ever saw that. We should start research post haste

>solved pizza as an MRE
Picrelated: my face when I draw pizza slice.
I think Natick should go back and solve it harder before moving on to Chinese.
That said, I'm sceptical they could make any fried item stand the test of time, which is kind of a big draw for me in that genre.
Stir fry I could see being super popular, also noodle dishes are kind of woefully unrepresented.
I'd be for it, but I also doubt they're going to consider including menus tangentially related to anyone that could obviously become opponent number one short term.

Apparently for MRE46 program which is coming in 2026, they're ditching beef taco filling, pork sausage patty and jalapeno pepper jack beef patty.
This is terrible news for me because I actually like all of those, the maple pork patty is one of my favorites. I could stand dropping taco filling just because it gives me gas that can wake the fucking dead and there are other, better Mex options.

Supposedly replacements will be Cuban beef picadillo with vegetables, buffalo-style chicken, and Thai red curry with chicken and rice.
So we're at least making moves into the Asiatic sphere of dishes?

Not really, I always see chinese tour groups going to straight to Panda Express. Its kind of like ordering a burger when youre overseas, you want something familiar but also to see how they put their own spin on it

In the past there was asian beef strips (medicore), thai chicken, beef teriyaki and chow mein.

some orange chicken and noodle or rice might not be so bad. been making that up at home for a while now, simple and cheap.

>>64481418
>picadillo
never had it, but sounds like as good an excuse as any to make some and see how it is.

>Now that we’ve solved pizza as an MRE
We've managed to get shelf-stable cheese and pizza sauce onto incredibly shitty bread. That's a step, but not remotely solved.

But to your other point, Chinese takeout is largely made up of delicious heavily processed and preserved shit anyway, so the leap to MRE menus seems a good match.

>they're ditching beef taco filling
I hope not, that was one of my favorites. It was basically really good beanless chili.
>>
>>64481322
Still healthier than the botulism&gutter-oil flavored green pork the Chinese put in their own MREs.
>>
I remember having Asian Style Beef Strips with Vegetables. Not great desu. Chinese food should be easy to do as MRE cuz just put some sweet and savory sauce on meat chunks, the rice would be shitty but that's fine.

>>64481418
Picadillo should be a good MRE.

>I hope not, that was one of my favorites
Unfortunately I think it's as good as toast, friend.
It wasn't my favorite, but it was always good, one of those ones that you could eat once a week and not feel put off about it.
It just really made me fart so bad you'd swear I was dieing.

Honestly I would have preferred they just ditch the plain pizza slice and kept either the pork maple patty or the jalapeno beef.
Maybe get rid of goulash too, the "sopako chemical" smell of that one is enough to turn my stomach without a bite.

We already have the Asian beef strips, and I'm not talking about the Mama-sans on Victory Drive.

Bong rations have some sweet and sour chicken and rice variants, they're pretty good.

i could go for some retort pouch hunan beef.

Ha, I almost forgot about the fried rice, I tossed that every time. I did like the bamboo shoots in the beef strips though.
