>he bought the full-size
I don’t know what but it feels like the compact is magical compared to the full-size, I like its recoil impulse better some how

Once EFK releases the .357 Sig conversion barrels I’ll revisit the PX4 full-size as the carry cannon concept with double tape 77 gr .357 Sig JHPs. They’re like 1700 fps

I have a LTT PX4 full-size, several LTT’d compacts

The full-size PX4 never sparked joy for me, I’m interested in revisiting it but it never seemed better than a 92 that has a better grip. The compact PX4 is appreciably smaller than the compact 92 and shoots just as good despite the shorter barrels if not shooting better. I put some of my fastest splits with a PX4 compact.

Redpill me on US- vs. Italian-made Beretta 92FS. Non-vertec frame because I prefer the way the OG frames fit my hand. I am leaning towards Italian-made ones but the new ones I've seen have huge horrible safety billboards on the slide and frame.
>>
>>64513819
They all have billboards from either country, except the M9
>>
>>64513826
Italian guns have more billboarding

>>64513819
US made M9 will have the least amount of bill boarding and IMO the Italian vs US debate is Reddit. Shit doesn’t matter
>>
>>64513826
Might be a stupid question but has anyone ever successfully removed or filled in the billboards? They really spoil the look
>>
>>64513832
Modern* Italian guns, older ones do not. At some point they started stamping the manual warning onto the slide for Italian guns
>>
>>64513836
Any idea when they started doing this? I might be able to live with it if it's just on the frame...
>>
>>64513667
>>64513694
The compact utilizes a bull barrel whereas the full size does not. The gun was designed to shoot 40S&W, and for whatever reason, they basically kept the bulk on the compact barrel but made the full size barrel thinner, probably to save weight. They might have needed to make that a selling point against their 92 series and didn't care too much about making the compact as light as possible. The px4 is not exactly a lightweight pistol, especially compared to simpler striker fired guns.

Langdon talked them in to using a bull barrel in the full sized "G-SD" model, which is relatively new. I have a Langdon compact, and my next 9mm will be the full size G-sd model. I've heard it shoots as soft as a much heavier, metal framed 9mm. I'm not sure if you can buy the barrel separately.
>>
>>64513848
You can’t put a GSD barrel in a non .40 slide, like standard 9mm guns. You can use a GSD barrel to convert a .40 to 9mm but you can’t even buy GSD barrels without buying a GSD. Only a fucking retard will buy a 9mm gun just to take the barrel to convert a .40 to 9mm (I did that).

>>64513843
Just look up beretta 92s used on gunbroker and look at the pictures. If you want a really old one then there’s a bunch of surplus 92SBs for sale right now. Not super parts compatible with modern guns since 92SB predates the 92F which F stands for US federal acceptance in which strict parts compatibility was established. SBs you couldn’t expect parts to drop in.
>>
>>64513832
>IMO the Italian vs US debate is Reddit. Shit doesn’t matter
lol
>>
Got a new barrel for the 90two :D
>>
>>64513746
I have a LTT compact, and bought a rusty subcompact with the non rotating barrel.

The stock trigger is heavy, but very smooth. I was honestly surprised because I got the Langdon one first, and it wasn't until I got home and compared them that I felt the difference. The Langdon trigger is noticably better and probably worth it, but I was very impressed by the stock trigger, even on one that was a bit rusty. It's perfectly fine as is, but can be made to be noticeably better. If you're picky in the reset it's a no brainer.

If you aren't carrying it, I would try the 10lb hammer spring with the new hammer that is supposed to ignite primers better than the old hammers.
>>
Just typed out a big post then realized I can just summarize in a simpler way. I own just an American made M9, anon will tell you American made Berettas SUCK, but they are fine. If you don't want billboards then get an M9 and doll it up with aftermarket parts. It's the cheapest way to have a nice Beretta

>>64513874
Noted, thanks anon. The M9 is looking more appealing by the minute.

>>64513879
I do prefer the look of the straight dust covers. Is that unique to the model in your pic (which is?) or do the new production M9s also have the straight dust cover?
>>
>>64513892
Beretta 92FS and M9s (and other variants) either have straight and slanted dust covers depending on whatever Beretta has. Internally they do not care and sometimes one batch is straight and the next is slanted.

90-Two/92A1/96A1 is the evolutionary dead end, completely different pistol from the M9A1 which is just a M9 with a railed frame. I think they’re actually 92FS marked slides instead of M9 style.

M9A1 has no internal differences from other post 92FS guns to be specific

Barrel looks long enough that the ports would be outside the slide

The port job seem to what compromised the barrel structural integrity

This one I can answer for. It has a 92A1 marked slide. It's wider than a 92fs slide at front where guide rod is. You can put a 92 slide on it. Can't put a 92A1 slide on a 92fa frame.

So standard 92 slides fit on 92A1 frames? What do you use for the guide rod?
>>
>>64514919
>So standard 92 slides fit on 92A1 frames?
Yeah, small gap at front around guide rod area is all. It's like putting a gen 3 Glock slide and barrel on a Glock gen 4 frame.
>What do you use for the guide rod?
The guide rod from the the 92a1. The 92a1 has that weird take down release that uses a narrower guide rod head

Nice, I'm gonna look into doing this. I had a Wilson combat 13lb hammer spring in my parts bin for a 92, and apparently they fit, so I did that already. Maybe if I come across a deal on a compact I'll just get one of those as well.

>>64513848
>The px4 is not exactly a lightweight pistol, especially compared to simpler striker fired guns.

That's exactly what I thought when I picked it up. To me it just felt like like a more ergonomic polymer frame 92, at least when comparing the two in weight and overall size.

>>64513872
Yeah I'm gonna shoot it a bit and see how I like it overall, and maybe take it slow and just get peripherals like more mags and a decent holster if I think it's worth keeping and carrying. If I like it and think it's worth doing I'll do some upgrades. Worst case scenario I'll just keep it stashed in the car or as a bedside gun if I really don't see it being used every day.

I should get some of that scanning spray that gives your target object a universal matte finish. Yes, this is a usable scan, but it took a long time to get there and it was harder than if the mag wasn't shiny.

It's just a Gen 5 with a plastic block on top of the cruciform sear so it's harder to move the disconnector out of the way, and the plastic block holds the sear in place, so you can't just dremel it off.

Is that a nothingburger? Pretty much, except I'm certainly glad I already have my Gen 5s, and I don't need to get a V. Making your gun stupider to stave off lawsuits is pretty gay.

Does anyone have any modern Charter Arms revolvers? I was able to play with an Undercover and a Double dog and both seemed really nice. I was honestly stunned at how nice they seemed. Perfect timing, absolutely no play in the cylinder, and trigger wasn't bad at all. I have had more sloppy fitment from both ruger and S&W. Yeah they were kinda ugly looking, but they seemed really well made, especially for the price. The damn double dog costs less than a 357 mag LCR or any J or K frame 357 mag from smith and it comes with a 9mm cylinder. I just don't know if they will hold up. So, anybody have one, and if so plz post some pics of it and tell us how's it holding up. How many rounds do you have through it? Etc. . .
>>
>>64515543
Stop responding to niggers, retard.
>>
>>64515561
Taurus is better.
>>
>>64515561
I have 3 charter arms revolvers. I have a Bulldog 44 which I post here. I'm not sure what year it is, but it's probably around 20 years old. I don't know how many rounds have been through it, although I myself have put over 2,000 and it seems to shoot even better than it did before. The only thing wrong with the Bulldog is my own fault. When I modified one of the springs, I overtightened it and now the ejector sticks out upon reloading. I could fix this very easily, but I actually found that this "malfunction" helps me reload faster, although I have to manually push the ejector star back into place before putting the cylinder back. So that's why I don't really wanna fix it-- I like it more the way it is now. But yeah, the only "issue" with the gun is the one that I caused myself. I think the only thing I dislike about the Bulldog is that the front sight is fixed, but it's not really a problem because it just werks. If you really want to, you could always paint the front sight, but I love mine the way it is. Imo factory trigger is much better than a comparable Ruger or Taurus or Smith or whatever. If you upgrade the trigger, the weapon becomes S-tier. I hope this information helps you.

>Undercover
By far the best and most popular Charter Arms model. Nicknamed the John Lennon Special, it's the best in its class hands down

>Professional
I have the 6 shot 357 Professional. It's way better than a comparable GP100. It shoots better, costs less, I think looks cooler, and is overall more comfortable. I don't post it here because I'm tired of showing glowies my arsenal, so pls don't ask to see it. I only post my Bulldog and SP101 here, along with a few other weapons.

>Double Dog
Great utility if you wanna practice shooting revolvers because 9mm is cheap. I don't own one, but I would imagine it's a great gun.

Straight is the “desirable” one, it was the original. Slanted came about due to 96 .40 S&W models having frame cracks so they beefed up the frame which didn’t fix the issue but helped.

It’s a fool proof method and prevents things from going wrong if your extractor failed and left a round in the chamber.

It's a wonderful gun that's slept on. The trigger is nicer than the USP, and the SK is HK's smallest hammer fired pistol. The ergos are all around smoother than the USP too. I quite like the P2000. However, it is also a dated gun (limited mag capacity, no optic cut, limited after market support, etc.), so I don't really see much reason to buy one today other than you just like it. It was discontinued this year, and prices on it were never better. think I paid only $450 for my SK and the full size was going for under $600 I think. If you ever wanted one, that would have been the time to buy. Checking gun.deals now and the prices have all gone up to like $700-$1,000, which it's definitely not worth. Just get a USP at that price and enjoy all the parts support.

>>
>>64519995
I just got a USP, what I'm in for? What's the deal with the Oring on the barrel? does it last? I'm a Glocktroon btw, so I have no idea about actual handguns.
>>
>>64519868
Before the VP9K, it was the in between size of a full/duty size VP9/P30 and the SK line. But the problem was when the P2000 came out, low cap mags were the thing in the US.
So if you don't like front serrations and don't mind striker vs hammer, spend the extra $100 for the new VP9K. Otherwise, if you want more than the castrated P2000 factory mag capacity, you'll have to mix/match base plates and VP9/P30 mag bodies.
>>
The more I shoot the more I come to the conclusion that glocks are really all you need.

USP is fun. It's a smooth shooter and you have a variety of options with it (HK match trigger, jet funnel, etc.). He O-ring is designed to help the barrel re-center when shooting. Apparently they also help reduce gas blowback when shooting suppressed. They last a long time too. I haven't replaced the O-ring on my VP9 Match yet, and I've shot over 5,000 rounds through it (maybe I should replace it soon though). I actually love the ergos of the USP, as the wide planes on the grip gove me plenty of space for my support hand and the pyramid texture really helps hold things in place

>>
>>64520059
Worst thing about the USP is the plastic mags. I have one I left loaded for a few years and the feed lips spread out to the point where it could pop out rounds.
>>
>>64520059

I’ve had my USP45 for about a year now.
I’m pretty high on the model myself.
Wasn’t sure what to expect based on the wildly varying sentiments.
First thing I noticed was how it absolutely mogged my Springfield loaded 1911.
It’s lighter yet recoils notably softer. It holds more ammo and I actually shoot it more accurately despite being a small handed shooter.
I tested the mag drop theory, I can drop the mag with my middle finger on the paddle with just the most minuscule of movements. Technically I do “shift grip” but it’s so small that I can return to shooting form without even thinking about it.
I’ve been trying to find a 9mm that I like as much in terms of being fun to shoot.
>>
>>64520141
The USP 45 is so iconic, but I'm not sure if I can afford 2 USPs.

It's a Lions reference. The context is the whole "he said you threatened him with a gun" "oh? What color did he say my gun was" concept.
I'm not a sports guy, but I grew up going to the silverdome just to spend time with my dad. I have a sentimental attachment to the colors.
My friend was making a joke. He actually cared about sports until we all stopped in 2020.
>>
And for the low comprehension retards my dad had season tickets. My dad isn't Chuck Long.
(Closer to Sneed than Chuck, but that's another story.)

And now that I think about it, I'd really rather just have a better gun cerakoted. I can get a better color match that way anyway.
I'd like to have a discussion about this concept next thread. If baker reads this, can we get a colored cerakote edition? Maybe a thread question?
