I was thinking about getting a vertical shoulder holster, anyone have any good brands
Also how bad is it to break in a leather one? Is it like boots where you just have to deal with it, or is it like a baseball glove where you can do some sort of process to break it in.
>>
>>64530905
Did you really believe the mods were serious with that gay little sticky they put up?
That's just their cover for playing favorites. /k/ didn't turn into reddit all on its own, you know. There are posts here now where someone is losing an argument and accuses the other person of being a Russian so the mods will remove all their posts. That's what /k/ and 4chan is now.
>>
>>64531114
>anyone have any good brands
Falco
>Also how bad is it to break in a leather one?
Not that bad. I have a vertical USP 45 one too and had to wrap the mags in plastic bags and let it sit for a week to get the leather to not be too tight on the mags. My P220 one that I've worn a lot has had zero issues so far.

Nice
They’re one of the thinnest most compact DA/SA guns in existence and you get a far better grip than in usual pocket guns
>>64530975
>>64531094
Only wimps claim a 380 PPK kicks or bites. I put a reduced 17lb recoil spring on my Manurhin 380 and it’s perfect spot is Norma and fiocchi JHP which only has modest recoil. No hand biting ever happened. You do have to tune springs for loads
Meanwhile my 32 nazi PPK runs anything including flat nose buffalo bore

Probably try to get German or French made PPK as they seem to be superior to S&W. I hear the new PPK are good too tho.
>>
>>64531308
>Only wimps claim a 380 PPK kicks or bites
All PPKs can bite because of the small tang geting right up into the web of your thumb. Kick is whatever. It's more to do with the sights being shit, the DA being straight bad, and the SA being mediocre. There's just nothing really nice about the gun anymore other than a fictional spy carried one.

SA is 2.9 lbs with my 32 ww2 example, 38 Manurhin is 3.5 and the DA trigger pull is smooth on both and no worse than my cheetah. I like DA because in an emergency it makes it less likely I panic fire before I’m on the target
>tang
I think that’s a SW problem. Pre 68 PPK have a shorter tang that doesn’t dig into skin
> nothing really nice about the gun anymore
Perfect grip for my hand size
DA/SA where you can pick your trigger weight instead of getting a mushy long striker trigger
Sig wouldn’t have gone down in flames had they had kept da/sa instead of trying to overcome the natural suck of a striker by making it dangerous
>>
>>64531114
It's not a verti holster but look into the Galco Jackass rig. The holster is angled upwards which helps a lot with concealment.
>>
>>64531175
>who have forced their bullshit into all of my interests in an effort to spread their cult of mental illness
I've literally never seen a tranny IRL, or at least anyone that I could consider a "trans pride" stereotype, and I live and work near a major city.
I can almost certainly guarantee they're not forcing their bullshit into anything and you're just consuming tons of social media designed to keep you addicted to this line of thought to glue your eyes to the screen for updates on the "Fox News fascist leftist tranny threat!"

As long as they don't touch other men they can be okay, there's been a lot of okay homosexuals in the world that avoided the fate of being a gay retard that acts like a woman. Should I get a used G43X for $350, or just get a brand new RXM for $400? The only thing I dislike about the 43X is how narrow the grip is, but I figure I might be able to rectify that with a Hogue grip. I prefer its shorter barrel to that of the RXM.

>ddlah 68-135 dollars (aluminum reddit trash), the low mount one has weak posts that has sent optics flying
>suppressor height sights 95

versus
>385 all in one package, optic cut, plate, decocker conversion, front suppressor sight, cerakote (better than bruiton IMO), install and zero. free LTT sticker, please advertise my brand

>muh proprietary parts
I had just berated my friend over that reddit shit, people claiming that you can't replace the LTT firing pin. YOU JUST FUCKING CALL THEM AND SAID IT BROKE. They'll either give you a new one for free or sell it to you. Kill reddit. Behead reddit. Toss reddit gold down the toilet. Shit in a redditor's food. Report redditor's to the IRS. TOTAL REDDIT DEATH

You can buy a spare kit too. Many redditors claim you can't buy the properitary parts, you can.
https://langdontactical.com/ltt-92-rdo-top-end-maintenance-kit/

Personally I have a 92X RDO cut slide lying around, I'm planning on using the Eleven 71 titanium plate (seen here >>64532252), since I've read too many of ddlah's plate's failing. The ones that failed were RMR/SRO plates with the low mount style where the threaded 4-40 posts for the optic screws fail. If you over torque those they'll weaken, I don't know what the torque spec is but I bet you can easily over do it with a holosun hand tool.

Eleven 71. I have never heard of these people outside of 2011 circles and two very high end 2011 custom shops use a custom titanium plate from him. Like 10k for a gun high end.

>>
>>64532570
The non LTT solution is a pay/upgrade as you go solution while Langdonstein is a big up front payment but it’s everything ready.

I was in an argument with my friend about how the LTT plate system isn’t good for returning to irons, but once you have an optic on your gun and zeroed, you’re not going to go back Willy nilly. Especially if you put suppressor height irons on the gun. So the compromise that beretta went with with their optic plate system having no effect on stock irons is a pointless useless compromise.

Langdonstein should make an iron sight cover plate though, but his BUIS is kind of good enough. The EPS height irons are barely taller than stock irons.

I still like my idea of a 3 target challenge…. 4 inch ring target, 2 inch ring target and 1 inch ring target, will fit on a standard sheet of paper…. You get 15 shots total, 5 at 20 feet, 5 at 35 feet and 5 at 50 feet. Catch is if you hit the white around the target you lose all the points earned for the target in that section… 4 rings on each target, largest target gets a 1x modifier, middle gets a 2x modifier, and smallest gets a 3x modifier. No time limit, highest score wins. Sort of a know your limits challenge.

Idk if to anneal the brass or not do that till repeat reloads. I plan to reload them as target rounds at 800fps 200gr

Monthly target idea:
"Press Six" drill, longest range completed with no misses wins, limit 2 attempts at the same range. Strings of fire could be reduced so each attempt doesnt take forever.
Start at the longest range you think you can complete, if failed, move closer by a yard until completed. Drill is usually done at 3-7 yards, a max starting distance could be set as well.

This is probably the case with the wood grips I bought for mine. I also had to modify the grips. I didn’t do a great job at it so the back part of the top chipped off at the range. Thankfully I was able to find it on the floor and superglue it back together. It still holds up today.

With modern S&W QC, they're probably about the same. Charters have more hand assembly so they are more likely to have minor fitment issues, but Smith is more likely to have manufacturing issues due to their crappy QC. Charter has one of the best warranties and you can pretty much call up charter to buy any part so if you decide to change out the spur hammer for a bobbed hammer or you want to put in a steel grip frame to make it heavier, you can just call them and order the part which is kinda neat. Charter claims to have a stronger frame than Smith and fewer parts. In my experience, they have better timing and lockup than Smith out of the box if you get one that doesn't have those fitment issues I mentioned. Charter's 5 round Undercover/6 round Undercoverette is supposed to be smaller than a J frame too. I only have experience with Smith J frames, their L frames are probably better made, but charter doesn't really make an L frame equivalent. The closest is probably their Professional which is most similar to a K frame.

Start with Jacketed or at least powder coated or plated bullets. Yes they are more expensive than the all lead ones, but if you push lead hard, you will cake your barrel in shitty lead and if you push them too soft, your gun will get dirtier than a street after a pride parade. I don't load 44 special specifically, but I have been loading for a bit. Oh and if you are just now getting into reloading, buy loading manuals, a lot of them. I know it seems stupid when you can look data up online, but it really helps. There are a lot of combinations that aren't going to show up online, but will show up in a manual somewhere. Plus they can give you technical info that will be a hell of a lot more trustworthy than anything you will find on here.
>>
>>64533810
He’s compensating.
>>
>>64533125
Straight wall just needs a trim every few loads. Sometimes it doesn't even need that. I would get a case washer before an anneal setup. 44 special can be kinda dirty with light loads.
>>
>>64533818
Compensating for what? A larger dick isn’t going to give you 19 more rounds
>>
>>64533828
For your glockgina lol
>>
>>64533231
It's not worth the time or effort to anneal straight wall cases. If they stretch out enough to need the body to be annealed, they are on the verge of splitting. Straight wall cases stretch out very little so as long as you arent pushing max loads, they should last a long time with nothing but occasional trimming if you are just going to make target loads. Annealing is for bottleneck rounds for work hardened brass like the case mouth that gets crimped over and over or the neck that gets sized over and over. It's easier to just trim off the work hardened part of the case mouth for straight wall and have slightly shorter brass. 44 special, like my baby, 38 special is much longer than it needs to be and a slightly shorter case won't matter for target loads. Use new or at least full length brass for hot loads.

pretty sure its the Ft. Smith nuWalthuh, box and frame say fort smith and i don't see any S&W markings anywhere
its pretty fresh too, spring was bent really bad on the ejector/slide stop which i think is why it was cheap, kept failing to eject or the slide stop would fail if you bumped the slide
gun store worker was complaining about it being 'the hardest gun he has ever had to disassemble', they have to clean and test the used guns before selling it, my money is on the worker fucking up the spring on re-assembly and they had to knock the price down

The October qual was too hard for most people, but I still had a fun time shooting it, and it taught me that drawing lines with a gun is harder than it looks. It's hard to come up with good drills, let alone thematically relevant ones like a jack o lantern.

If you (or someone else) has a better idea for a November qual, I promise to shoot it and post pics. Thread themes are fun, and they build /hg/ spirit.

Bottleneck cartridges have the neck sized every time you reload the case. That's what gets work hardened for the most part. They also stretch a lot more so they require trimming. Straight wall cases usually only have the case mouth worked so they tend to only need trimming until they get blown or split.

Got a question , My brother is getting into guns and he really likes the M&P 2.0 , question is metal or polymer frame? Hes got minor wrist issues , but nothing too serious and this is going to be a range gun for him. I would think metal might cut down on the recoil or felt recoil for more comfortable shooting , he shot both and liked both. Just curious from anyone that might have long term first hand experience. He eventually will get a hammer fired and tried a glock , but he did not enjoy it.

My only M&Ps are a Shield 2.0 and a 380 EZ, but I don't think it would make much, if any difference. Metal is heavier, but polymer has some flex in the frame. Both reduce felt recoil.

It won't. Plastic flexes minutely and is easier to shoot longer. It also has a better grip texture which means less flexure in the hand which is also more comfortable. Maybe the actually steel M&P metal would have lighter recoil as opposed to the cheaper aluminum one, I dunno, but it also has poorer grip texture than the regular polymer

Ugh. My OEM pocket holster is falling apart, as is my Hogue grip. No one sells the OEM holster. I know it works. It's $22 on eBay or $13 from Ruger with $6 shipping. If I get the grip from them it's $2 extra shipping but still $1 cheaper than if I buy the grip from amazon.
To get free shipping I got to spend another $44 bucks. They want $43 for a spare 7 round mag. It's way too much and it still doesn't put me over $75. I've looked through the site and everything looks like shit. It's there anything I didn't think of? I'm just stuck paying shipping because that's the only holster I know doesn't come out of the pocket with the gun. I thought about trying the desantis nemesis, but the Amazon store doesn't seem to have the right model for the lcp2 so I'd be paying shipping anyway.
I shouldn't care. $8 is like a BK Whopper, but my inner jew is seething.
>>
It's not even worth it, because I can get the mags for $30. If I get one and pay the shipping it's like $9 cheaper and I'd still be up a dollar. Fuck! Why do things gotta cost money!
I'd rather just buy a footplate to make that useless 6 round flush mag better.

Nothing. That's a screenshot saved notification. I'm listening to my dogs. And I'm going crazy because no one sells just the +1 adapter. I do see a third party aluminum one but it costs $30. I can buy the whole mag for that. You can buy floor plates on amazon, but they just extend the grip and don't add capacity. Who gives a shit?
It isn't even the money. It's the waste because I'll never use the 6 round flush mag other than a spare. I've been literally keeping it in my wallet, lol.

I do, but I'd have to buy the resin that doesn't shatter if you drop it so the initial cost would be pretty expensive. I'd have to go back to painting coomer models to justify the expense.
I gave up on it when I gave up on 40k. I realized it's just grown men arguing like children over ambiguous line of sight rules and moved on.
I still got the printer tho.

My last job there was a lot of vets and hood niggers so people "minded they bizness". I got to go back to deep conceal until I've felt the place out.

If it's a resin printer don't bother, no resin you can use belongs anywhere on a gun, the strongest printing resins have shit properties. $10 spools of Chinese 4043D PLA outperform $300 bottles of ultra-strong impact-resistant resin. If you have a resin printer, print a buck, make a silicone mold, and cast a few in polyurethane, it'll be a fun afternoon project.
>>
>>64535388

Kek, you're on topic a lot more than most. It's weird because I haven't been around in a while, but I think I remember you getting a fed job.
Anyways, I know you were just trying to get the free shipping, but that ebay deal is pretty solid and mags are a wear item, so it never hurts to have a couple extra.
>>
>>64535361

>>

That actually didn't work out. I found something in the opposite direction so if this works out I can maybe sell my house and move away from the cultural diversity. And if I'm lucky, maybe in the next few years I can shoot in my back yard for free!
>>
>>64535406
Lol no, useless trash. On the original LCP and its cousins like the P32, P3AT, P11, and their numerous clones, the fat triggers are nice because they distribute the force of the double-action across a larger area. On the LCPII and Max though, all they do is very slightly alter the angle and offset of the trigger face relative to the trigger axis, it's a TINY change and makes a barely perceptible difference. You can tell them apart in a side-by-side comparison but beyond that it's just a pretty red anodized accessory.
>>
>>64535135
Oh dear. I won't recommend them anymore then, that sucks

I'd suggest you try the ebay seller first, see if they'll just replace it even if it's been weeks. I don't know why but ebay sellers go to crazy lengths to avoid negative feedback. Otherwise if you contact Swampfox just say you bought it from a forum for cash or something and don't have proof of purchase. I did this with one of mine (as an experiment) and they basically said "welllll okay fine we'll extend you the courtesy this once"

I don't know about braces sorry, I got a 1913 adapter and put a Sig folder on mine

>>

It might. I really don't understand how a lot of these striker trigger upgrades work, I just know they do.
>>
>>64535417
>I don't know why
Negative Feedback Is Death - it doesn't affect seller score, but it does affect Cassini scoring, so your listings become "lower priority" search results and what might've been the first result for an item ends up on page 2 where it'll never be seen. Negative feedback also leads to worse disputes, eBay has directly acknowledged this before because it's an issue; if someone sees your PERFECT feedback score and has an issue, they message you, but if they see you have negative feedback they're significantly more likely to go straight to the Return button which opens a dispute, and disputes ALWAYS fuck the seller by design, eBay wants their dime and they will always choose to spoil the buyer and punish the seller. Selling on eBay actually sucks fucking balls and I hate it.

But now that I got it unloaded and am dry firing it, I can see that eliminating travel can help, even if the break is still long and spongey. There's a LOT of travel and that's more than enough to allow your finger to move the sights off target.
Obviously a skilled shooter wouldn't do that, but that's not me.
I got to repaint the sights. I'm still getting some use out of that model paint.
>>
>>64535459
I'm still salty they haven't bothered to actually fix the only known weak-point of the LCP. The LCP and all its cousins fail in the same place, front right rail, cracks above the trigger or down the length of the rail from the position of the takedown pin. So with the single action they can finally change up the trigger pivot arrangement which lets them fix that weak spot - but they don't, instead they beef up the rear rails where no LCP has ever failed before. Why are you like this, Ruger? Also, no, not an issue a normal LCP/II/Max owner has to worry about, it's just the way they tend to die if you push them too hard, most people won't run that much hot 380 in their lifetime.

>>
>>64535701
that looks like one of the older ones, Tisas's thing is that they use machined parts rather than MIM but I don't know when they switched from MIM to machined. There was a transition.

There's a reason they're the hot shit and RIA is almost forgotten about. The metal is weak, the extractor is easy to bend - probably replace it with a quality one if you have any issues.
>>
>>64535709
From what I found about year of manufacture identification this one was made in 2021. I heard Tisas was badass for the price but I have no idea about MIM parts usage or transition periods/ batches. I guess I’ll have to shoot it and see how it does, I don’t plan on carrying it anyways.
