Not digging how close the stick is to the ejection handle. Also that massive MFD is going to give pilots problems. In general this cockpit looks poorly laid out and very unergonomic. I get that Russian stuff usually isn't very human friendly, but just doing a simple three pane MFD with all of the switches and backup instruments spread around it like an F-16C would be so much better.
>>
>>64540388
Jesus this look so fucking cramped. Why is stick so close to that screen? This whole shit really screams potemkin of jet world
>>
>>64540601
Maybe its like an F-16 stick that doesn't actually move and just senses the pressure inputs, but what an awful position even for that.

Holy shit. A Russian plane that's not in *that* shade of green!
>>

Nice giant screen you got there. At least it has buttons.
Nice stick you got there block it too. Haven't learned from the American's since the 70s huh? Have another swig of Vodka, Igor, and you might get it.
Nice visibility you got there with that giant canopy brace. Couldn't figure that one out either? Guess that F-16 that didn't have a giant piece of metal blocking his view got the better of you, eh?
>>
>>64540383
The single pane mfd with physical buttons all around seems to be a failure of ergonomics.

>Also that massive MFD is going to give pilots problems
Why? It's what the everyone is going to. Pic rel is the F-15EX and the F-35 isn't much different.
>>
>>64540755
And this is the F-35
>>
>>64540766
I don't care for it but this is a higher up, and seems a little bit smaller. I played with an F-35 MFD in a sim, the touch screen isn't so bad, but I'm assuming the Russian one doesn't have a touch screen. The worst parts about the Russian MFD I think will be craning your neck down to operate it and becoming task saturated with the buttons and flying, not to mention the stick obscuring 10% of it.
>>
>>64540755
>>64540388
Beat me to it, these days one huge MFD split up by software in the norm.
>>
>>64540388
dcs tard spotted. LAD are the future.
>>
>>64540388
Not like they're ever gonna fly combat missions with it, lol.
>>
>>64541119
I get that but I don't think the Russian one has a touch screen.
>>
>>64540383
I hate cuckscreens so much

>one giant MFD

is this reality or a meme???

They're putting giant ipads in the planes wtf

I should have read the rest of the posts before commenting.
I had no idea everybody was using one giant MFD in their fighters now.
Is that single screen split up into multiple, independently powered zones to eliminate the chance of a "lights out" panel?
At least there's a separate attitude indicator on the Western fighters as a back up.

For the F35
>Developed by Rockwell Collins (Kaiser Electronics), the multifunction display system (MFDS) comprises two adjacent 8-by-10-inch projection displays, each with a resolution of 1280-by-1024 pixels. Each half is fully functional, so the system can continue to operate if one half fails.

And apparently it's an enhanced LCD to improve the brightness when it's sunny
>>
>>64541276
Anon, many planes like the F-35 have a single engine. The display is probably much more reliable than the engine simply due to the lack of moving parts
>>
>>64540766
damn I thought Nuclear Option was taking some artistic license with it's cockpits but they actually are that minimalist already.
>>
>>64540388
Maybe there's some kind of giga stick pusher that instantly rams the stick into the display when you eject. Theoretically the stick wouldn't get in the way of your hands though since there'd be even more clearance once you pull the handles toward you.

because all the avionics and weapons aiming have moved into helmet displays
the dash is now for maps and monitoring systems which means shit can be in menus and tabs

This is the perfect mix of mfds and standalone instruments for me

Is that me or pilot's field of view looks absolutely horrendous ?

Electronics is supposed to show you everything but still, it's useful to see shit outside when you're flying.
>>
>>64544375
Probably for tech secrecy reasons. That and the fact that India isn't interested in the Su-57 in the slightest to the point where they went and said "Nah, our Made-in-India" plane is better"
