man, the buffer and carrier being a single piece makes this one loooong BCG

Several prototypes of the Japanese Type 64 assault rifle
Bushmaster M17S>all aluminum upper>charging handle is rear of carry handle and slides back (you can see the cut in the rear)>receiver got warm as you fired it
>>64541320That grip looks uncomfortable as fuck. I know it's basically a thumbhole stock, but still.
>>64542386Looks like a Daewoo K2
>>64542523you know what *really* looks like a Daewoo K2? (or vice versa, timeline-wise)
>>64542386
>>64542506
>>64542536Huh I thought the K2 was more AK inspired
>>64542556it's basically an AR bolt with an AK piston stuck to its top
Martin P6M SeaMaster.>quadjet>flying boat>STRATEGIC BOMBER
>>64541585They really don't. You're just a racist that thinks all white people with short haircuts look alike.
>>64541274This always felt like a 50's gameshow host holding a prize.>>64541694Funny enough they had left handed models and they actually worked better than the end result.
>>64541385God damn
>>64542885What Hellboy movie is that from?
>>64542757>This always felt like a 50's gameshow host holding a prize.>you don't know it yet, but I have solved small arms with this devicehe kinda was
>>64542506That is neat
>>64542925i dig it
>>64541417>Straight mag bullpupJesus Christ, how horrifying. Hate it with FAMAS, hate it with this.
>>64544041Interesting how they used what looks like a .750" gas block journal, that later became the A2 spec. Also the selector is four position but the left the selector stops so there's no way to go into burst
>>64544037What’s that thing underneath the barrel?
>>64541272I actually used to work at IMT and have a crazy story about X03. Someone who vaguely knew Reed (at the time) was going through a box of vintage AR10 mags at a gun show and found one that was a little of dimension wise and had the mag catch hole at the rear. So he sends pictures to Reed and Reed freaks out and begs him to overnight it to him. So he sends it for like $150 overnight to Titusville and turns out it was the original mag for the gun.
>>64541391wtf chauchaut mags?!
>>64541542Wait a moment, with the thumbhole so far back...
>>64544328bipod, the legs are just some weird bent shape for some reason (maybe so it fits neatly under the handguard so it doesn't obstruct you when you're shooting the gun with the bipod folded?)
>>64542651Hell of a shotgun.
>>64542651Reading about SPIW always cracks me up.>its such a good idea let's make it so the soldiers can't remove it themselves>after all why wouldn't they want a 3-round GL stuck all the way out in front on their rifle?
>>64544529That handguard is pure sex
>>64542672Post your psychology degree
Are you funky enough to wield the Shah of Iran's embellished VP70?
>>64543425
>>64541272I want the wood fiberglass furniture AR-10 with huge flashpensatorMine will have an ACOG that sits way up on top of the carry handle like they used to do. I think good for aiming but easier to get domed in a firefight.
>>64542887note the AR-18 at upper left
>>64544692that's select fire (not a Z)?

XM191 rocket launcher. I don't think it has been posted. But it was a prototype rocket launcher from the 60's. The XM191 was tested during the Vietnam War as a weapon to replace the old M2 flamethrower. It was ultimately not put into service, but the weapon evolved into the M202 FLASH. It fired, primarily, napalm rockets, but it could also fire HEAT rounds derived from the LAW.
>>64541272Nigga got the legendary loot box
>>64542923>gas-operated firing pinwat
>>64550091I think they mean primer blowback where the primer acts as its own tiny little gas piston, when gas pressure forces the primer body backwards out of the case head it pushed on a mechanism in the bolt face that unlocks the action.
Why unmanned turrets on tanks never caught on?
>>64542925There is something soviet about it. Silhouette looks similar to AEK-971 for some reason.
>>64550634>Why unmanned turrets on tanks never caught on1. Unmanned turrets are usually more expensive.2. They are technically unreliable.3. They are even more unreliable with autoloaders (which most will have)4. They reduce the crews situational awareness5. They are basically impossible to field repair6. They can't be repaired inside the tank, whereas a manned turret it is often possible to fix an issue without leaving the vehicle7. Crew workload increases with two-three crew members versus four-five crew members.8. No redundancy if a crew member is injured or ill. Commander can, if need be, go into the gunners position if the gunner can't work or is dead.9. Escape egress is massively reduced in unmanned turrets because there is no design for that, manned tanks have more exits10. Advantages don't outweigh disadvantages currently
>>64544288>>64544041how would you clone it today with frt?
>>64541919The linear reverse hammer is the coolest trigger mechanism I've ever seen.
>>64551472If that's the case then why are both the T-14 Armata and M1E3 Abrams both unmanned turret designs
>>64553753>T-14 ArmataCome on man
