What are your thoughts on FP-2 drones?

Supposedly 105kg warheads 200kg range. Are they becoming meta? Lots of new videos coming out all.

What do they use for video transmission?

the FP-1 version looks the same but has 1500km range and less payload right?

there is no D in that word. Just like how you don't have a D in your pants, you little azn.

Do these replace the FP-1s? Are they are complementary to the FP-1s?

Black Bandera magic. Duh.

How come 4 years into the war they are still fully on manual control? They seem like they would benefit greately from some automatic course correction towards windows (exploding inside the buildings on first attempt instead of having to make larger holes first spending extra drones).
Fuck, not even windows, just warmer rectangles initially.

It's AI/GPS-operated when enroute, but manually controlled once it gets close to the target location

It might (and probably does) have all sorts automation when the signal gets lost, I wouldn't expect the terminal phase to be any different. The rules for the target acquisition my very well even trained/chosen based on the mission and the target. But think about it for a second, if it runs autonomously why would we see the footage?

>But think about it for a second, if it runs autonomously why would we see the footage?
Morale purposes as well as government mandates that require footage of strikes in order for their units to get credit for kills, thus giving them video game points to spend on even more drones to buy and use

>manually controlled once it gets close to the target location
Thats exactly what I am complaining about. Videos in this thread show near misses on buildings and the need of multiple drones to destroy a building. Is it more economically effective for 2 drones to explode on the roof to make a hole large enough for the next drone to not miss it than to use some pattern recognition to fly through a window and explode inside on the first attempt? I thought that problem should have been solved by 2025.

>The rules for the target acquisition my very well even trained/chosen based on the mission and the target.
Does not even have to have preprogrammed rules, have the operator to select an area of interest and lock in onto it.
>if it runs autonomously why would we see the footage?
Are you implying survivorship bias, i.e. we do not see footage from pure AI drones?
Speaking of which I only remember ground footage from the strikes on oil refineries.
>>
>>64553654
Complementary, FP-1s make up like 60-70% long range strikes to refineries etc, these FP-2's seem to be front line medium range striking mostly at 50-200km range or literally front line. That first building is Pokrovsk.

>strike near two points on the top of the structure
>which may or may not have multiple floors
>which may or may not be made of concrete
>then make what's basically a RC scale model Piper Cub perform a vertical dive into the hole
Or
>aim at existing weakpoints already present on the structure

It's inertial navigation actually because they have to operate in a GPS denied environment.

Something like that yes. The moment you need the autonomous control the most is the moment you don't have video feed or any input/output for that matter. Also the juiciest targets are also the ones where you'd also probably have the heaviest EW and usually the longest range between the controller and the drone. Although it's possible to fly through pockets of no signal and regain it afterwards

They're alright for what they are, they're cheap and do their job. It doesn't hurt having them
