It was pure pilot error. He began the maneuver way too low, below 500ft which is like a half of the altitude you need to execute this maneuver safely for even a good aircraft. To make matters worse he began the maneuver on a flat trajectory on its side, then pitches up drastically while the aircraft is rolled 90 degrees inverted instead gently pitching of throughout the entire roll, resulting in a stall, and the aircraft drops out of the sky like a rock. It's a very deliberate control input, he didn't black out, it was just badly planned and executed. Being a delta means that the Tejas probably has a good amount of high AoA maneuverability and he likely overestimated how much control input was needed for a given amount of pitch. A downside of the delta is that it has a higher stall speed, and the Tejas is relatively underpowered. The second it dropped below the speed needed to maintain forward flight his fate was sealed. He could have had double the altitude to recover and probably still would have hit the ground. The Tejas is certainly a shitty plane and closer to a 3.5 gen than a true 4th gen. But there was nothing wrong with it that day, it was just another deadly mistake for an Airforce that makes them routinely, across all of the aircraft types that they operate.
The Indian pilot's last word was "Shit!" Total jeet move.
>>64553231thanks grok, you're the best pilot in the solar system
>>64553231He'd lose izzat if he didn't do the maneuver for safety reasons.
>>64553455Izzat becoming known in the West is 9/11 for jeets
>>64553482The poop throwing video was 9/11 for jeets. Every time the masses learn something about indians and/or india, its like a mini 9/11
>>64553491The poop throwing was 9/11, the secrets of izzat being revealed is the letter from Bin Laden explaining why he did it.
>>64553455>>64553482>>64553517As someone who is not versed in jeetology, can someone explain to me what the hell is an izzat? Google isn't helpful at all.
>>64553526
>>64553538
>>64553543
>>64553538>>64553543>>64553544Fucking grim. This goes beyond honor. This is a neurotic obsession to be on top of everything to the point of retardation.
>>64553482>>64553491>>64553517poop throwing + izzat + twitter account location all happening so close together is amazing
>>64553653It's fascinating the kind of reputational damage India has suffered in the past three or so yearsLike, the incompetent engineers and callcenters were notorious before that, but when the average westerner heard "Indian", they probably imagined Apu, or Rajesh from The Big Bang Theory, or that one coworker they had at their previous job that was an ok guy but only ate unbearably spicy curry?Right now? Safe to say they're the single most hated nationality in the world, to the point that they make Israelis and Russians seem well-liked by comparison
>>64553634Lots of thirdie cultures are very similar, which leads me to think honor culture leads straight to thirdiedom
>>64553538>>64553543>>64553544anoneverything makes so much more sense now
>>64553538Huh. I knew Indians never admit to ever making mistakes and have this weird group mentality but I didn't know it was ingrained that deeply in society. I'm not surprised though
>>64553455He'd lost Izzat to the ground of he backed out. It was his only choice.
Comparison of same routine from a different show
>>64554364Even the entry into the negative G-turn there that resulted in the crash is far wobblier than the successful one. Either he was too slow right from the start or Tejas suffers massively in generating power and lift in arid Middle Eastern climates compared to tropical/equatorial ones like Singapore and much of India.
>>64554364i don't know much about planesbut it looks like the one on the left does a 180 and just turns horizontally, and the one on the right does this kinda 120, starts pulling "up", which in this case is towards the ground, and then finishes the 180 and just continues turnining since he sees he's fucked it up?so it's just that he turned/rotated too little, or am i missing something?
>>64554364>With this crash 3% of the global Tejas fleet is gone Top zoz
It's going to be something really stupid like wrong altimeter setting
>>64554470no saar altitemeter is very proper yes why you don't believe saar fuck you bloody
>>64553538Someone taught this dude the term "zero sum game" and he fell in love with it, but apparently never bothered to look up what it means. Regardless, I once worked with a Chinese "fixer", basically a bribe-passer. He explained to me that in China it doesn't matter if you made a million dollars sell crack to kids or inventing a longer lasting lightbulb, all that matters is that you made your money. It's a totally amoral culture.
>>64554364>>64554424Yeah it looks to me like he just totally botched the sequence of inputs and wasn't able to catch it until way too late.
>>64556078>"communist" country>people ancapmaxxinghuh
>>64556280See this is what people are talking about when they say these countries aren't actually communist.
>>64556280We keep saying that China stopped being communist with Deng Xiaoping and you call us shills. It's just totalitarian capitalism now. It's not even AnCap, just ToCap I suppose.
>>64554364Either the A/B failed to ignite, or the pilot forgot to engage it. The lack of A/B is the most glaring difference in that comparison. Both possibilities are bad, but considering for how long that plane stayed in development hell I'd say mechanical failure is the worse option and the most likely.
>>64556280Chinks gonna chink
>>64556326I know about China's economic policies, but their government still holds onto the communist aesthetics and, at least on paper, ideologyWhat I was commenting on was not their policies, but rather the discrepancy between the government that flies red flags and puts up pictures of Mao everywhere, and the citizenry being so un-communist it could pass for a parody of Ayn Rand
>>64554364Airspeed aside (since there's no good way to gauge it without doing some autism which I'm too lazy to do), pilot didn't unload before rolling, common but dangerous error. Tried to roll, the aircraft started lagging behind his inputs and then kaput. You can see how the left pilot only pulls on the stick AFTER he completes the roll, the axis of rotation is more or less aligned with the line from nose-to-tail. The guy on the right is pirouetting around instead, you see the nose drawing a large circle.>>64556331Nothing to do with lack of thrust, it's just the pilot fucking up.
>>64557024>pilot didn't unload before rolling, common but dangerous error.Explain in more detail.
>>64557062I elaborated in the rest of my post. Basically the guy kept pulling on the stick while rolling. It's not exactly a "never ever do this" kind of thing but trying to make a snappy, fast roll while simultaneously pulling high AoA is a recipe for disaster.
It also appears that the timing of the afterburner, which should be done at the end of the roll and turn maneuver, is too early, hindering the roll.
>>64556280You can kill millions of people and tell them to love Marx but their culture won't change. Chinks have been changing superficial parts of their culture while maintaining its basic core tenets since their first rape by steppe nomads. The chinese commie party as a ruling entity is basically a modernized confucian bureaucracy.
>>64553538>>64553543>>64553544My boss is Indian and I can not express how on point this shit is.>>64554210This is an understatement
>>64553538>>64553543>>64553544Fuck. They're just like Chinks and Vatnigs with their retarded face culture.t. chink
>>64554074Most people hadn’t had contact with Indians or if they did it was with westernized Indians who have been living most their lives outside India. It’s only when you meet fresh off the boat Indians that you realize how these people really are.>>64557688Some anon once aptly described Indians as Arab incompetence, Chinese arrogance and Russian face saving in one package.
>>64557715Russian corruption is more suitable
>>64557087A delta at high AoA bleeds energy like nothing else, the A/B would have provided the thrust needed to sustain that AoA. That said, you're right: I gave another couple of looks at that video and the pilot either kept pulling through the roll or started pulling while inverted. No A/B would have saved him considering the sink rate at the exit of the spin. The guy didn't even punch out, reminds me of the italian eurofighter that smashed in the sea many years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fV3XszURSs0
