How does the Tejas compare with the F-16, Sukhoi-35, Dassault Rafale?

Irredeemable

This has probably been stated ad nauseum but I just can't get over how basic bitch it looks. It's like something I would expect from a stage of aviation development when humanity was first progressing into second gen jet technology. Or maybe a proof of concept just to show you can make something that flies, but then you go back to the drawing board and make something serious.

This isn't something that should be seen in the skies of an air show in 2025.

pathetic pajeet attempt at remaking a crappy miniature version of the 1950s era Delta Dart, whose flight specs absolutely still mogs this piece of shit. If the US were to install modern avionics and subsystems it will totally shit on this thing. That piece of shit was already obselete by the time development started in the 1980s, lol

It's quite literally inferior to western trainers.

Saar… you must do the needful!
>>
>>64553852
Agreed. I looks like someone tried to make a Mirage 2000 from memory alone.
>>
>>64553852
it looks like a delta wing trainer or testbed. It also has a slightly inferior weapons payload to the FA-50, a literal trainer

Maybe my memory is slipping in my old age. But I could have sworn when the Tejas was still in the concept stage, Jeets were swearing up and down it was going to be on par with F-15/Eurofighter lol

No that sounds about right. They hyped this thing so hard, but then again they're Indian so they basically think everything they do is amazing. Calling this a 4.5 generation fighter is almost laughable.

Considering that it's development began 46 years ago, I'm sure there was one point where the the equirements called for taht level of performance, befroe beign watered down. Either that or the more likely explanation of just indian chest pounding,

4,5th Generation Saar

Let's at least be honest, the program request and spec outlines began in the 80s. The actual program design study and work really started in the 90s.

Let's also be honest:
The Tejas is very clearly an 80s based design (I am suspicious that Dassault's early involvement provided a large majority of the initial work).
It's an 80s based design from a 60s-era equivalent technology base, or at least it began that way.
The Mk.2 is closer to an F-16 block 20 (with better avionics), but the orig Tejas is more like an F-5 with better avionics.

Let's be honest it's very shit

>>64553832
The Tejas is basically a 3.5 gen plane and it's ridiculous to compare it to the others.

I like the wing shape

Being humble loses izzat. You must hype your stuff to the moon even if it's dogshit to defend your izzat
>>
>>64553832
You'd be a humongous fucking retard to buy this over a Gripen.

How the fuck did cities like Fort Worth-Dallas and Houston get that big without decent mass transit?
>>
>>64555992
Cars. I knew people in Los Angeles who drove two hours each way to work.
>>
The Tejas is such a funny failure of an aircraft and nobody bothers to talk about it because it's >Indian.
To give an idea of who might buy this aircraft the only people currently debating buying the aircraft is Brazil and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Not a single country has actually bought the Tejas, not even the trainer version that's meant to compete with shit like the M-346.
>Botswana, dropped the Tejas entirely but still deciding between other jets
>Egypt, bought the J-10C
>Malaysia, bought the FA-50, light fighter version of the T-50
>Nigeria, bought the JF-17
>Philippines, dropped the Tejas still considering either the Gripen or F-16
>Sri Lanka, decided to keep their Israeli Kfirs over buying the Tejas
>UAE, bought 80 Rafales along with 12 L-15 trainer aircraft instead
