Can /k/ explain precisely what is happening in this video?
>leo not moving, no sign of crew
>apparently penetrated by drone strinking the front where armor is thickest?!
>random cut in video
>leo burning while secondary explosion on the side, maybe another drone or artillery shell, don't think it's from the leo
Seems like legit leo kill, but the circumstances are weird. Was it already abandoned for some reason? Can the drones being used now really knock a leo out from a frontal hit?

This thread is for the discussion of the weapons and equipment involved in this incident and are not promoting any form of ziggerdom.

An ideal shaped charge penetrates 7x its diameter into steel
To penetrate the 1m steel equivalent of the frontal armor of modern MBT would require at least a ~~150mm wide diameter shaped charge

The front only is thickest if the incoming projectile comes from ground level.
The ammo isn't exploding catastrophically, just burning slowly as designed.

Nah, it looks pretty standard. A leo is pretty sturdy and just doesn't explode when the wind blows the wrong way like a Russian tank does. For whatever reason it was abandoned, possibly because it couldn't move anymore. Then the Russians hit it with multiple strikes, and it eventually started a fire and blew up. This might have taken 45 minutes or longer from start to finish and the cut is justified.

Thanks for the info anons. Watching the video slowed down, it does look like it might have come down right on that weak area, though it's difficult to say for certain. It would be nice if there was some more footage from before the hit to see if the tank was moving at all. I still suspect it may have been abandoned for some reason.

Is the first strike a lancet? It looks like it didn't do much and it took multiple strikes to start a fire. Leo tanks are not indestructible, and instead meant to be sturdy enough that the crew can evacuate intact if there's a mission kill.

RIP Leo 2, doing what they were meant to do: fight Russians.

Lots of these videos have too many cuts, making it difficult to parse what's going on, and sometimes even making it hard to tell if it's all the same incident. This makes sense though.

Vehicle was previously abandoned. Drone strike on the armor above the drivers area where its quite thin which starts a fire. Jump cut is because it took the fire a while to get going OR because they did drone drops to get an incendiary in through a top hatch. Pretty unremarkable.

did the cannon fire upon impact?
