(Ex) US tankers and armored crewmen of /k/ I need your help.

Did you EVER see someone who had his tank's name stenciled on his CVC Jacket or other parts of the uniform? I'm talking about modern times including GWOT.

Need to know this for a uniform collectors project.

Please tell me this was the driver's.

Fury (2014), Gordo the driver
>>
Bump
>>
>his tank's name
how would anyone know/verify that
also a vehicle could have been re-named multiple times, or have multiple (not just 1) names simultaneously painted/applied to it
>>
>>64603578
I liked Fury. I don't know why it gets so much hate here.
>>
>>64606708
Because we have a lot of /pol/niggers, russoids and browns (lol same thing) who hate America.
There's a couple of fuddlore points that the extremely pedantic can pick it up on but that's it.
But if you look at it from the point of a film maker, the short range of engagements fits better onto the screen. Watching a tank blast away at a treeline 2 miles away isn't exciting and doesn't look interesting. Also, what's more exciting, Fury and her intrepid crew role up to a hedge, spot a Tiger half a mile away, put a single shot through the hull armor with their 76mm gun and then drive off or do what the film di and they have to charge it down to get behind it?
Mowing down the SS by the hundred in the end scene is somewhat unrealistic, but it's good fun to watch. And honestly, it's a good thing to kill SS. The real actual SS would have shot the retarded /pol/niggers we have today as soon as they clapped eyes on those autistic, brown, Aktion T4 candidates so they should be thankful it happened.

Modern times? Most you'll see is someone putting their own name on something with their sharpie for practical reasons. Tank names are more about personal crew morale and aren't that important in the long run to warrant putting it permanently on your uniform. Its not like a ship's name, different kind of culture.
>>
>>64606708
I liked it except for the ending and the tiger scene. I thought the rape scene was pretty cool tho

Saving Private Ryan ruined mediocre WW2 action movies for everyone anon. We no longer want to see romanticized views of inexperienced "elite" units getting mowed down by plucky ragtag crews. Modern audiences expect more realism.

What's ragtag about the crew of Fury? Aside from the new guy, who has the least responsible position on the crew with the least to do, the script establishes they're all veterans who have been fighting together since North Africa through Sicily, Normandy and now Germany. The tank commander is a first sergeant, the highest ranking NCO in the entire company. Effectively second only to the officer in command of the company. There's a reason the other tank crews look to him rather than the new lieutenant for orders.

Pick a lane nigger. Also on-topic, Fury was ass. It was porn for the same faggots that like slop such as Inglorious Basterds unironically. Patton, Lebanon, The Beast of War, and Kelly's Heroes are all way better tank-oriented movies. Go watch those.

At least do some research on what the battles they're depicting were actually like. Not everywhere was the Battle of Berlin...

I pick the lane where loathsome treasonous faggots like you get dabbed on.

You watch Fury for the tanks, not to obsess over the acting and other bullshit, you fucking mong.
>>
>>64606728
It was worse than "unrealistic." It was boring. Not like lack of action boring, but just regular boilerplate Hollywood schlock boring. Choose stylized, choose gritty and realistic, but don't try and do both at the same time and fail.
>>
>>64606893
>you're treasonous
>for... some reason
>G-GET DABBED ON
Lol k, retarded gorilla nigger.
>>64606923
That's like watching action movies for the guns, then recommending them to /k/. If I'm burning time sitting at a screen, I want it to be fun. Fury wasn't fun for me. But, to each his own.
>>
>>64606708
I personally dislike it because they trashed the tanks that Bovington loaned them for filming, including Tiger 131.
>>
>>64606974
You're burning time sitting at a screen now, arguing with people who are laughing at you.
>>
We never named our vehicles (USMC LAR), I think that's some army shit. Your vehicle has a callsign followed by a number that you use on the radio, and a six digit serial that you commonly reduce down to the last three when you're talking about it off the radio. I'm pretty sure this is how it's been since vietnam at least.

Warthunder tank autists are a special breed of autistic and will sperg if they don't personally agree with the logic of every part of the movie. The tiger scene is a good example of this. The way they describe the tiger battle would have you believe that it was a UFO battle.

This mostly.
Everyone who critiques Fury pretends like warfare is some kind of perfectly choreographed dance where everyone involved follows combat doctrine to the t.

When int reality, if you're a tiger commander and just shit on 3 enemy tanks, it's pretty believable ego would take over and he woud rush the final tank in a pride driven frenzy

fairly certain the "call sign" is the vehicles name.
>>
>>64606740
Oh look, anon found one.
>>
>>64606708
the last part ruins the movie with just how fucking retarded it is. I can look past everything else but that shit was the worst case of retarded German enemies in most of cinema history. If the director wanted the characters in his movie about tank crew to a have a heroic last stand he should have done it during the tiger battle. How did that not even cross his mind? it makes perfect sense.
>>
>>64606779
>Kelly's Heroes are all way better tank-oriented movies.
That's righteousness and positive of you anon.
>>
>>64608051
that literally did happen but not to the ridiculous DUDE EPIC LAST STAND way it does in the movie, it's like loosely based on a story from a Sherman broken down at a crossroad that had to fight off infantry and some light vehicles with just his .50 on the top deck

in reality I imagine about 35 scared and depleted germans who are all basically kids and a few vets are pinned down in a field by a .50 and lots of .50 ammo from inside the sherman by an angry american who knows how to use it, might have doinked the engine out of halftrack or something too but everything beyond a guy on a .50 just shooting at some germans its bullshit, so like 90% of the scene
>>
>>64607354
also consider it's not like he has perfect eagle vision, he's looking through his shitty 1940's binoculars and optics in the Tiger, he probably can't tell which Sherman is the one that can actually kill him especially once its facing him
>>
>>64608051
there is a "historical" event that it's based off, a tank hit a mine and the crew abandoned it. They left a crewmember they thought was dead and he fought off a german attack operating the entire tank by himself swapping seats.

it's from that stupid belton cooper "death traps" book the writers read
