>Yesterday, an incident occurred in one of Russia’s bomber aviation regiments involving an aircraft that was parked inside a shelter.>According to the Russian propagandist Fighterbomber, the ejection system accidentally activated on board.>As a result, both the pilot and the navigator were killed, suffering fatal injuries.>The incident likely involved either a Su-34 fighter-bomber or a Su-24 frontline bomber.>Such cases occur due to improper maintenance of the ejection system or accidental activation.>In 2021, there was already an incident of unintentional ejection involving Russian pilots in occupied Crimea, on a Su-30SM fighter.>At that time, the incident occurred during pre-flight preparations: both the pilot and the navigator survived, but a technician sustained burns. How common are these types of accidents?
me after taco bell
an experienced pilot is worth more than the aircraft itself, even now that they cost billions to make. but i doubt they were experienced at all.
>inb4 this was yet another incident of Slavs bumming each other going wrong
>>64614418>Trying to give the wizzo a handy in the dark>Accidentally pull ejection handle insteadyeah I could see it

>>64614502Just a hard landing incompatible with living
>>64614399US has some due to training tempo, normally once every 6-7 years for an active air force that isn't Botswana. Idk why everyone says they slammed into the roof when in reality the cockpit didn't even properly clear so they got shoved through shattering glass and salsa'ed.
>>64614438
>>64614399Eternal headache
>>64614502Injuries were compatible with life, comrade))))))))))))))))))))
>>64614502so there was nobody on board
>>64614399Seems to be a recurring problem in Russian aviation (see 2021), their ejection seats suck and they don't maintain them properly... just a little corrosion on the electrical systems can cause it to misfire.
>>64614399Oh so that’s why they try not to use aircraft hangers, it all makes sense now why they let their aircraft rot out in the elements
>>64614556Well, they did slam into the ceiling while they got rammed through the canopy.I actually don't know at what point in the ejection sequence the rocket motors ignite, so the whole thing may have been on a downward spiral even after they were sliced by their canopy and squished against the roof when the rockets lit off and sent the seat on a crazy tour around the shelter.
>>64614660Nah, not building shelters was just a cost saving measure.
>>64614399This is a known issue with the Su-24https://youtu.be/jklGQxAOoo8?si=Y931uUDM1n3KRg-M
>>64614677Is that the one where yanking on the stick got tangled up in the rear tail moving bits and yeeted niggers into low orbit?
>rf pilotgood riddance to that human waste
>>64614681Yup
>>64614681Yes. And in typical Soviet fashion things got worse, because the seat fell on top of another parked aircraft. But that time, nobody got hurt.
>>64614464i see someone else also hit the ceiling after a 5G dirrhea
>>64614502Landing incompatible with life, please understand
>>64614418>g-guys we're all slavs actually t-they're just as bad as us at least!i can't think of any other "people" as ceaselessly disgusting as russians, not even muslims/jews would sink so low as to resort to some "we're all semites" shtick to at least drag the other down with them
>>64614399>How common are these types of accidents?not common enough since russia still has an air force
>>64614677The ejection controls on the co-pilot can easily get stuck to the control stick, so when you push it forward you trigger an ejection. They have to MANUALLY hold the rudders up before take off so that this doesn't happen. Very typically Russian: a clear design flaw which they work around through training and hope people don't forget about it.
>>64614399>>Such cases occur due to improper maintenance of the ejection system or accidental activation.I think I figured out what faulty part set off the ejection system.
>>64614556Ejection seats have spikes to break the glass retard.
>>64614556The actual reports state they smashed into the roof, and I'll trust that over your headcanon
>>64615153Meanwhile the inferior west has flexible ejection handles so this doesn't happen.
>>64615187Depends on type. Some canopies are designed to be completely ejected before the seat goes, some canopies have detcord in them, some seats have spikes that break the canopy.
>>64615274Most have redundancies, that even if the canopy doesn't separate/blow, the seat can still safely bust through it.
In the west Zero-Zero is a good thing, in russia it just means you have zero chance of survival, both on the ground and in the air
>>64614677>Stunt Navigator
>>64614502>An-22 officially retired in 2024>still flying in 2025>7 crew on boardwtf were they doing? If it was a ferry flight to a museum or something, it wouldn't have that many crew on board.
>>64615263They also have an ejection arming lever (the one next to the pilot's left hand in the pic), which you do not engage until it's actually safe to eject (ie not under a fucking concrete ceiling).
>>64614399>Ejection seat malfunctionVery rare. The system doesn't see a lot of wear and tear and pilots are pretty insistent about it being in working order. >Slamming into the ceilingExtremely rare. It's often procedure to not arm, fuel, or even man planes until they're out of the hangers and away from all the expensive tools. Helps keep pilots from ejecting into ceilings.
>>64615517There's nothing you can't achieve if you put enough persistence behind it.

>>64615517This anon is a huge fucking retardThis is war-time, these birds have an astronomically high operational tempo, the pilots and crew are Russian and actively under threat from long range drones. >>64615517>procedure>puccian air forcemaybe they have a procedure for stacking tires on planes lmao
>>64614399Before I was allowed to access the crypto gear in an aircraft we had to go through egress training on how to avoid setting off the ejection system. The videos and descriptions of what could happen were gruesome. Scrape off the ceiling with a spatula level energy.
>>64614399>two pilots eject into shelter roofQ: I wonder what was the last thing that went through their mind?A: Their ass
>>64615620>>64615627>With RussiansOh, I thought OP was asking in general. Yeah, Russian safety and maintenance is...not good.

There aren't any other russia threads in the 'log so in gonna ask here: does anyone have any updates from Pokrovsk? I've got a distinct feeling that the recent spam wave might have something to do with the situation there
>>64616721Last I heard they "took it" but at an absolutely insane loss of life. Ukies just moved back to the next position and set up defense. Rinse and repeat until TZD.

>>64614672I don't think it counts as cost savings if the program is funded but nothing actually gets built because the entire budget is embezzled.
>>64616721>>64616744No news is bad news, for the Russians. They are quite literally in the exact same position as a month ago, which was a stunning 5 meters further than the month before.I would expect the fighting to continue for two more weeks, at least.
>>64615439They have a hard time finding parts to maintain their aircrafts so they use whatever they can

>>64614399>>64614541>>64614677>>64615153But how does this happen inside a hanger? And does a single ejection trigger both seats?
>>64619236Because Russia.Sometimes.
>>64615919Yeah but the weird part is that it's not common for other air forces at similar tempos. Russians have to be a special kind of stupid.
>>64614490it didn't crash they just had a looney tunes incident with the seats inside of the hangar due to (lack of) zigger maintenance
>>64618542Trick question, both of them get Eternal flight anyways
>>64622541Well in a normal airforce they'd spend ages teaching munitions handling and prep, that kind of doesn't work in Russia for the simple fact that they have to use Russians who are dumb, lazy niggers that take pride in not doing their job until beaten with a stick.
