tell horror stories about what happens when women get their hands on a firearm, I'll start...
>>
>be me
>in military family
>grow up shooting
>other siblings disinterested in shooting
>I get all the attention from father and laern to shoot gud
>grow up always wanting to be in the military as a kid
>get to high school and realize that shit is retarded because israel
>begin career in a different field instead
>sister graduates college with fuckass liberal arts or polysci degree or whatever and decides to join the army as an officer
>gets through basic and thinks she is hot shit
>I live across the country but come home to visit for holiday and she is there as well
>go out with dad and sister for a shooting session
>dad wants to have a rifle zeroed
>he asks me to do it for him while he go shoots his trophy sub gun
>I agree since he raised me plus i just enjoy the process
>sister comes and snatches rifle out of my hands
>wtf?
>with fury in her eyes she says "I am TRAINED and QUALIFIED to do this"
>>
>>64628634
cont.

>lol ok
>rifle is equipped with an optic with a reticle that is designed to be zeroed at 100m
>It has been bore sighted so it will probably at least be somewhere paper at 25
>tell her to get it reasonable close on paper at 25ish so as not to waste ammo trying to get it on paper at 100 and then take it out to 100m for refined zero, then confirm windage at further distance, as one does
>advice goes in one ear and out the other
>"I am literally TRAINED to do this!" "YOU ARENT"
>she switches the rifle off safety and immediately has at least 2 negligent discharges
>holy shit
>I take a couple steps back for my own safety
>she turns around and flags me with it anyways
>complains there is something wrong with the trigger "why is it so light"
>I explain it is a geiselle trigger and is just a higher quality than she is used to on standard issue M4s
>she makes some sort of nasty remark and then starts shooting at the 25m paper
>it isnt even on the paper
>turns out it wasn't actually bore sighted
>dad walks over and asks me how its going
>I say that my sister insisted on doing it
>he asks why she is shooting so many rounds when it isnt on the paper
>we both lock eyes and realize the rifle should be taken from her at this point
>visible disappointment in his eyes, told me he thought the army would teach her discipline but he admits he was a fool for thinking that
>she has no idea what to do and cant tell if rounds are going up down left or right, they just arent on the paper
>me and dad explain to her to walk closer to the target, fire on or two shots at a significantly closer distance just to quickly gauge if the rounds are going a certain direction so she doesnt waste an entire magazine trying to get it on paper at 25m
>>
cont. 2

>she advances to roughly 10m and it is now on paper
>she begins shooting an entire group at this distance
>yell at her to stop
>she is confused
>dad takes rifle from her and gives it to me
>now that it is at least on paper I get it relatively close to the bull at 25 within 1 or 2 shots
>it is ready now to refine the zero at 100m
>she asks why I just zeroed it at 25 if I am going to zero it at 100m
>explain the entire process of avoiding chasing rounds off target at distance
>she doesnt get it despite being TRAINED and QUALIFIED
>>

I don't feel like green texting it but my drunk psycho bitch ex gf shoot a tv, nearly shoot her own sister in the head playing with one of my guns, threatened me with my own pistol for refusing to bum her a cigarette, and eventually red flagged me, had me arrested and my guns taken because of an argument over a clogged a toilet. These are all different incidents with weeks to months in between. I was just bitching about it in another thread. Anyway, I know the /gwg/ threads are kind of sexy and some of you are into the /ak/ thing but for the love of God don't ever trust a woman to even know about your hobby, let alone have a gun themselves. They will use it against you the second they get angry and they really aren't mentally developed enough to have the same rights as men.

>every single woman i've taught how to shoot minus my wife
>WOW THAT'S SO COOL
>flags the entire line
first lesson, only load one round at a time. one of my first females i taught to shoot was some borderline lesbo that shot my bolt 22, racked the bolt for a fresh round and then turned and flagged everyone. Why? because in her game you rack the bolt right away.

whatever
>>
>taught wife, her parents, her sisters and all their kids (mostly girls) all how to shoot
>Not all at the same time, that would have been a fucking nightmare 1 guy trying to teach 10+ nogunz all at once, especially with kids
>Always give a short gun safety lesson beforehand with the basics, like 10 minutes max just covering how to operate the gun and not accidentally shoot yourself or others
>Tell them, essentially, I'm not interested in getting shot and no one else is either, so listen and pay attention or you're not shooting
>Lo and behold they all paid attention and even asked questions, even the kids
>Went off without a hitch each time, no flaggings or nds or anything of the sort
>Every one of them had a blast, and a couple of them were even half decent shots by the end of the day
Not sure if luck or skill or both, but pleased to have had nothing but good experiences teaching them all to shoot.

once i went outside to the backyard to test-fire my .22 revolver into the ground. it was loud as hell. my two sisters start screaming at me, what are u doing.

next week, two cop cars come to our house to pick me up & take to the psych ward, i spend seven hours sitting with weirdos watching Oprah on TV, they question me, let me go. have to walk three miles .

my boss then finds out about & fires me.

I have an actual true story. You can tell that it's true because it's not that interesting.

Woman and daughter show up at the public gun range, an old outdoor gun range just barely outside of the city. They start getting out their new-in-box, clearly freshly purchased firearms. Clumsily struggle to load a few rounds into the mag. Guy in next lane, looks at me and says "Sorry but that shit freaks me out". Packs up and leaves. The woman, with gun in hand, starts walking out on hot range to post her paper target. I yell ceasefire but nobody stops shooting. I quickly step a few feet in and grab her shoulder from behind and tell her wait a minute. I call range officer over and explain what she did then I nope the fuck out of there.
>>
>>64629356
This can't be true....
>>
>>64629519
the funny thing about it is, they never asked about the gun, i was worried i'd forfeit all my guns.

Unless you're an armorer or a shooting instructor, not really. It get covered in passing during rifle training, then ignored since rifles stay zeroed and not really part of most people's job description.

Women should not hold such positions of power but then again neither should eunuchs who allowed such a position to exist hold any office at all.
>>
>>64629297
this in my opinion is the best way to teach nogunzs, especially people without firearm experience. Keep it short and simple, most people will understand.
>>
>>64629297
Basically same. I taught my wife and her 2 younger brothers to shoot, all at different times. Everyone gets a safety briefing and basic lesson on grip, at home, before we even get to the range. Once you get to the range, they are usually so hyped on adrenaline to focus. My wife actually picked it up very quickly, she had never even seen a gun prior to my lesson. And because she actually loves me and trusts my knowledge, she didn’t try to improvise or try anything fancy. She did exactly as she was told and was hitting remarkable groups with handguns and rifles. I’ve witnessed some truly atrocious shooters trying to teach friends and family. It basically devolves to
>let’s just go to the range, you watch me shoot, then I put a gun in your hands and see what happens!
>>
>>64628641
I’ve never served, but the friends I’ve made who did always say veterans can be some of the worst shots and most irresponsible gun owners. When I went to the range with my coworker who was a veteran, I consistently out shot him, despite the fact I didn’t own a gun and rarely practiced, and they were HIS guns.
>>
>>64629494
Kek. I would be the guy that left. Smartest guy there desu. Last time I was army range, I still had at least another 15 minutes of ammo left. But a big group of young men came in. I could tell by their conversation that one of them recently got home from the military and was treating his friends to a range day with his guns. Most of his friends had never shot before and were making constant CoD and Fortnite references. All around there was visible hype and they were practically shaking with excitement. I just packed up and left, there was no way I was going to be 2 booths down from that accident waiting to happen.
>>
>match with girl on dating app
>I get the brilliant idea to go on our first date to the shooting range
>Before we go in I explain safety rules
>Show her basics on a 22
>By the end she's hitting spinners with the 22 9 times out of 10
>Everything went well and we go out for dinner afterwards

Been married a few years now
>>
>>64630842
BASED. I took a new gf to the range after dating a few weeks. It was a group thing with a buddy that was on leave from the military. We bought rental package and got to shooting a lot of cool guns, ending with a full auto AK. So my gf went from never shooting, to experiencing everything. She had the biggest adrenaline dump that night and pretty much passed out as soon as I dropped her off. Just had our one year wedding anniversary.
>>
>>64628641
this didn't happen but i can imagine if it did
>>
>>64630842
When taking a girl out to a range for the first time, do you suggest indoor or outdoor ranges?
>>
>>64631077
Really depends on the range. Preferably whichever range is less busy and has the most breathing room, so usually outdoor. Though indoor ranges are very convenient where you retract your target whenever you want
>>
>>64629356
You should have at least come up with a plausible lie for why you were shooting in the backyard with a .22, like ratshot for a snake or something. Anyway don't be a retard anymore.
>>64628856
You can teach a person something only if they want to learn. Most people who join the military don't want more than a steady paycheck.
>>
I was range safety at jblm and some female captain went up from prone, didnt put her weapon on safe, finger on the trigger, slammed it into a barrier and ND. I told my lieutenant and he confronted her about it but her group of 1sg simps said she just didn't aim correctly. So we just dropped it. I wasn't about to go word against word with a captain, 3 1sg and a sfc all trying to suck up to their captain because she was a pretty tall blonde girl
>>
>>64630812
>Smartest guy there
Fair enough. I honestly thought he was overreacting at first, but he didn't even make it to the exit before she tried to walk out on the range, that's how dead on accurate he was. I include that part in the story out of humility. I concede his instincts were better than mine.
>>
>>64628633
They've both passed so it's safe to tell these stories now. My mother was an absolute menace with firearms.

>Mom grew up in decent sized town. Country adjacent but not country.
>Dad spent entire life on the family ranch.
>Moves mom out when they get married.
>Mom's first time out in the country, but adjusting well.
>She's a little scared of being alone most of the time, so she gets dad to buy her a .357 for self-defense.
>Goes into the bathroom one morning to shower
>Looks in tub
>There's a snake slithering out of the drain.
>Loses her shit, runs and grabs .357
>Blows bullsnake in half, puts four holes in their brand-new bathtub.

As far as I know that was the only time she shot in the house, but she was hell on the vehicles.
>Few months after the snake event she's sitting in the pickup with dad.
>Decides to fuck around with .44 that dad had in the glovebox.
>Tells her not to fuck with it, it's loaded
>Tells him that it isn't, stop being a pussy
>Continues playing with it
>Points at cab roof
>EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>Instant tinnitus for mom and dad, new vent hole in the pickup.
That's when dad took the guns away from her. Except for that one time where she shot him, that was pretty much the end of her ND escapades.
>>
>>64631854
No offense, but it sounds like your mom was retarded. How did your dad put up with her?
>>
>>64629297
Most women are easier to teach because they have less ego about it. My sister was a muhreen, didn't learn how to shoot in the service, and now is completely unteachable because she was a muhreen and instantly knows better than anyone who isn't saltier than her (she spent her active duty scubadiving in Okinawa).

Rookie mistake. When I taught my wife to shoot, it was one bullet in the gun for the 30 minutes at least. So she could get used to the kick and show that she can follow simple directions(the hardest part).

My ex bought a little .38 for her purse and I took her to a range. She aimed, pulled the trigger, but it didn't fire, so she immediately turned it to the side and shot herself in the hand, and me in the leg at the same time. A fragment of her metacarpals lodged itself in my leg, causing a secondary infection weeks later that resulted in having 2 chunks of my left calf muscle removed. I can now no longer wear shorts without looks of shock, discomfort and horror from those around me.

I meant to type the follow-up yesterday, but I got called in to work. Whether this one is an ND or not depends on who you asked, but I think now's a good time for the Christmas mom shot dad. Dad was an alcoholic at the time. He sobered up in his mid 20's (and was the only one in his family to ever do so), but it did cause a lot of friction at the time.

What both sides agree on:
>Mom's sister came to visit her on Christmas
>Her husband is an East-coaster, never been out to BFE before
>He and dad hit it off, they go out to hunt, do that for a while, go into town to drink, and get home late.
>Go back home, decided they want to continue drinking in town.
>Dad grabs car keys and is heading out the door
>Mom tells him there's no fucking way he's leaving to get hammered with her purse in the car
>Dad ignores her, goes out to start car
>No idea what uncle was doing at this point, for reasons soon to become obvious he gets sidelined in the story.
>Mom comes out yelling at him, .44 in hand.
>Dad sees gun, tells her, "You won't do it, bitch."
>NOBODY calls my mother a bitch.

Mom's version:
>In a rage and trying to get her purse, she hits the windshield with the butt of the revolver and it goes off while pointed toward the driver.

Dad's version:
>She took aim and fucking shot him.

Obviously one of these two has more credibility than the other, but it's only fair to present both sides.

>They bought this car new like three weeks before
>Dash and instrument cluster shattered
>Dad has bullet fragments peppered around his shoulder
>Mom drives dad to hospital in a panic
>Tells ER staff, I shit you not, "We were playing with a pellet gun"
>ER staff probably decided they don't give enough of a shit to call cops
>They remained happily married for another 40 years until dad passed.

Moral of the story: Don't fuck with mom's purse.
>>
>>64631949
She had just never been around guns before, or farm equipment. Besides a few early fuckups with those two she did pretty well. They got married at 16 so the bullshit tolerance on both sides must've been pretty high. It worked out for the best though.

>>64634328
That she was, there are plenty of other non-/k/ stories where she whooped ass and took names. Just best not to let her have a gun, you never knew what it was going to be used on.

I wish I could take my gf shooting, but she's literally too weak and retarded to handle a gun. On the weak side, she seems physically unable to rack the slide on a pistol unless she's putting effort into it like you would for a set at the gym. On the retarded side, I've tried to prep her for range trips by explaining the 4 rules of gun safety, and she cant even repeat them back to me within a minute of hearing them. We dont live in a rough area, but she's been catcalled before and had cars honk at her while walking alone. I wish she could have a gun for protection, but I genuinely think she'd be a greater danger to herself if she had one.
>>
>>64635639
She's also just not mechanically minded. I've seen her get confused while trying to open an ammo can (i use em to store tools and stuff), so clearing a malfunction on the range or in a self defense scenario is out of the question.
>>
went shooting in the woods with a group of sailors from my ship. one of the girls was from rural pennsylvania and "grew up around guns". hand her my p238. she proceeds to completely cover the muzzle with her support hand middle finger while pressing the trigger. safety was on and saved her. we all had a good laugh but ever since then i dont trust any woman with a gun until i see them shoot.
>>
>>64635639
Are you dating a 10 year old? You sick bastard.
>>
>>64635661
This reminds me of a story with my buddy and his dad. His dad hadnt shot a gun in years, and my buddy takes him to the range. He hands his dad his Glock 20 10mm. The last time his dad shot a gun was probably the before the Towers fell. He instinctively put his thumb over the back of the slide, as you would with a single action revolver. He lifted the gun up to shoot and thank god my buddy saw his grip and immediately grabbed the gun from him. I cant imagine the damage that slide would have done to his thumb.

>Hear noise
>Grab home defense shotgun
>Double barrel flintlock from 1808, barrel 5 feet long
>Load powder, wads, shot etc
>Finish and get up, pull back the hammers
>Walk towards noise
>Turns out the springs on my 220 year old firearm need replacement
>Left hammer goes completely on its own, hits the striker and makes a spark
>What feels like an eternity passes in less than a second, I fully expect to blast the entire side of my house off with my punt gun jr
>Turns out the powder didn't light
>Two failures makes one success
>I gently lower the other hammer and walk towards noise
>It's a fucking raccoon
>>
>>64634763
Nothing legally, but the range staff had a shitfit and sat there screaming at me as I lay bleeding. They made sure to let me know I was banned as I was being loaded into an ambulance.
>Did she have big breasts?
She was blessed with G cup, but was too lazy to do core and back exercises, so got a breast reduction that fucked up her nipples and gave her ugly scars.
>>
>>64635324
reminds me of how my mom get my dad to stop drinking. They had an agument, and she was begging him. He wasn't having it, but obviously seemed to understand that him being alcoholic was bad. Mom just picked 7 year old me and put me in his arm, my arms around his neck. I still remember the smell of alcohol in his breath. My mom told me that dad needed help and to show him that i loved him. Apparently i just hugged him and told him that i loved him. He apparently got sober in like 6 months and never drank anything ever again.

Was shooting my 454 Alaskan at an indoor gun range. Loud as fuck. Fun as hell. Forewarned the people next to me so they didn’t jump. Looked like a couple on a date on one lane, other lane was dude with 1911. Chat with 1911 bro and offer him a shot of 454 to try. He shoots it. Offer same to dude in couple in next lane. He declines. Politely offer it to girl he’s with. She gives it a go. Lol fun times.
